haha my riddle was "what is black and white and red all over" (a newspaper)
they seem to be just classic riddles...so "why did the chicken cross the road?" the classic answer is "to get to the other side" or you could try coming up with something more clever.

anyways, I'm at the graveyard now...
Quote:
(the Governor has resumed activity in Transition Village, after a brief pause requested by the majority of the travelers – who, he assumed, would not like to find their in-boxes flooded during holiday activities)

You wave at the travelers by the well and head over toward the graveyard. There is a rocky trail you must cross first. It looks as though it was once lined with decorative pebbles, perhaps even flowers, but now it is a broken and uninviting path. As you go, you are sure you can feel eyes watching you behind every bush and every tree.

Soon, you approach a rusted, wrought iron fence at the entrance to the graveyard. There are two tombstones through the gate, and you push to get in.

The gate is locked. There are two other travelers standing there, apparently lost in thought.

"Ah, ah, ah…" a voice chides from behind.

You whirl around. There floats a white wisp of smoke that slightly resembles a female human shape. She speaks to you in a calming voice.

"Are you ready to enter the graveyard? We have been waiting. There are two bodies beyond this gate. To give graveyard access to the villagers, you will have to succeed at several tasks. The first is to draw pictures of the tombstones with the names of the people buried here. You must find a creative and public way to display their grave markers to The Governor, who watches from his computing machine. One of your fellow travelers has already created a memorial to a resident of this graveyard, so if you need suggestions, you might ask the other travelers for help. We await your response. As your two fellow travelers have already heard the same information, you may want to coordinate with them to split up the tasks. Feel free to tell me if you would like to take on this first task, or one of the next instead."

On the ground, you see a life bead, a bottle of wine, and silver spurs.

You may take only one item per turn.

Who wants to draw the 2 graves? I could...however it would look...uh interesting to say the least. (no mouse just a laptop pad and paint lol)

I'll be taking the life bead...I've become a collector Very Happy

EDIT: by the way...who is by the graveyard with me?

I just got back into town last night. I'm looking over this thread again and can't really make out what I'm supposed to do with this bucket and shovel. Go back to the house with the ghost kid under the bed and give it to him? Anything else I can help with since I just sorta hustled back from the field?

I think DirtDiver could use the bucket and shovel...He's in the graveyard...

My turn for today:

Quote:
Clutching the scroll tightly with my one free hand I reply, "Sorry pal, you're going to have to get your own scroll."

I look around me quickly for handholds that I can take hold of in case the ghost makes good on his threat...

(totally posted this in the wrong forum/thread/everything Smile

Here's my last reply from TV:

Quote:

You reassure OJ, who seems very appreciative. His tail rises a little, and his ears perk up. He looks much more confident with you by his side.

Then you ask the ghost who is down the well with the archeologist. The thin ghost frowns and shakes his head. "It's probably Mr. P and his gang. They're a nasty bunch. Collect snakes and whatever else they can find to intimidate the residents of Transition Village. I'm afraid someone will get hurt if they're involved."

OJ runs to the edge of the well and barks down into it. His loud voice echoes into the tunnel below. He wags his tail and then looks back at you. Does he want you to climb down?

REMINDER: Transition Village will accept turns for Saturday but will not answer until the following Monday.

Whomever has the bucket and shovel can take them to the ghost boy or give them to me to take to him, but I think it is going to have to wait. I think OJ and I are headed down the well, lol.

new reply here...
Quote:
You pick up the life bead and put it in your pocket. Passing off the first task, you wait for another traveler to do the drawing.

"In the meantime," the ghost says to you in a gentle voice, "a decision must be made. Which body will be revived first? Please post the name, method of revival, and reason for your choice in a public place where The Governor can see the information on his computer machine. This is the second task required to allow travelers entry to the graveyard. If you are able, please complete this task."

so who is it again that is in the graveyard? and how exactly am I supposed to use the life beads to revive...any ideas?

You complete the joke and await your response.
After several seconds, the disembodied voice begins to chuckle. "What a sense of humor! You may open the box."
Two of the three keys on the ring disappear, leaving only the key that will open the black box.
It is an old, rusted key with a design on the handle that looks like a house. You put the key into the lock and turn it.
With a labored *click* like the sound of something old breaking, the top of the box pops open. You look inside.
The box is deceiving. Though it can fit in your hand, it is actually deeper and wider inside than half of this room. Looking into its contents makes you a bit dizzy and very disoriented. There are two things sitting inside, an arm's reach away: A pass to get into the graveyard, and a book of jokes.

going to try to get the graveyard pass.

TV's reply to my turn for yesterday. Looks like me and Lisa are going to be partners for a bit. Thanks for saving me!

Quote:
You hang on to the scroll and refuse to hand it to the ghost. Using your skills as an archeologist, you search in the dark for the sturdiest stones for when the attack begins.
"I SAID," the voice booms, "GIVE ME THE SCROLL!" Everything around you rumbles and shakes, but the attack never comes.
Instead, a tiny dog lands on your forehead and stands there, barking madly, his claws digging into your skin.
Above you, another traveler climbs downward.
"What is this?" The menacing voice is suddenly now very afraid. "You, you got backup? F-fine, then! Keep your rotten scroll!"
Just as the ghost disappears, your fingers slip on the rock, and apparently the traveler above you slips as well. The three of you tumble to the bottom of the well and land – unharmed – in a heap in a tiny puddle of water.
You inspect your surroundings. Lying near you are a fishing pole, a life bead, and a box with an opening just large enough for the scroll.

My turn for today:

Quote:
Pulling my hat out of the puddle and putting it back on, I sit up and look around in the dark. Leaning forward I take hold of the fishing pole out of curiosity, momentarily foretting the scroll.

"What is this doing here?"

You pick up the graveyard pass. The box clicks shut once again, and both it and the key disappear. You inspect the graveyard pass. It is a laminated, rectangular strip of yellowed paper that reads, WITH THIS PASS IN HAND, SPEAK THE MAGIC WORD, AND ALL CURRENT TRAVELERS WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE GRAVEYARD WITHOUT QUESTION.

so...what's the magic word?
