Mound Dead Drops

As Rose points out in SO our dead drops appear to be related to our former Sentries.

Dead Drop at the Etowah Indian Mounds - Kevin

I was trying to figure out the sand in the bottle, because frankly, it didn't make any sense to me. Then I found this post from MKaos. I think the sand came from the memorial service that was held for Kevin, or if not from there, it was sand that he kept from that beach as an important memento of his childhood, perhaps like the book?

Quoting relevant paragraph from that post linked above:
Quote:
The family was notified of his passing early Friday morning which, at least, gave me some peace that he hadn't been there for some time. They've made arrangements for a private memorial at a beach where Kevin and his family spent much of their summers. His father passed on a story about a young Kevin building a model of himself in the sand that was the full width of the beach and declaring to his dad that it was "better than Heaven, it's Kevin on Earth." They knew then that they had a handful and it seems to give them some peace that they'll be releasing his ashes there.

Dead Drop #2 at the Town Creek Indian Mound - Bryce

The idea of 'flaming rock" come from this article where it says:

Quote:
Apparently the reliable tipster is only slightly reliable as the charming young urchins were insistent that they hadn't been attacked by the "homeless nutcase" and, with no signs of a beating, it seems their story that the Tarot Killer was just looking for directions to some flaming rocks holds up
As Deltachange suggested above, I think Bryce (or whoever it was) might have been looking for the eternal flame that was pictured on Art's page. here

Dead Drop #3 at Mounds State Park - Jen

I don't think we know the amount of the last check. Jen only used the far right column for the balance and noted the check amount in the payment/debit column. In fact she drags the pen across the columns from the word cash, almost like she was interrupted while making the entry.

Yes, I agree with Enaxor on this idea. Maybe she was writing out the check when she was attacked?
