W.O.W!

niiiice work guys!

i wonder if:

1230768000

could be a scrambled phone #?

the 8000 part kinda stood out to me and gave me this idea. it also would make sense to be the next crumb in the trail so to speak...

Tried converting it into LAT/LONG with no useful result. Same result with zip codes both forward and "180deg".

I know we already got what we got, but here's what my genius told me.

Quote:
Without access to more information about the context, there is no single right answer. All you can do is suggest a possible answer (your conjecture) and supply a valid reason to back it up.
With that in mind (and only five minutes to look at this), I would conjecture the missing numbers are 20925 and provide this explanation: as you noted, the first is the missing digit in the numbers 1 through 6, the second is always zero, the third completes the pattern 616929, the fourth is the vertical sum (i)th + (i+1)th = (i+5)th (in this case, 2+0=2), and the fifth completes the pattern 922855.

He's really smart.

hehe, tell him the real solution tubby Wink

but to pull out patterns, where, ultimately, there were none, shows he's a great analyzer and thinker Very Happy

This does not give an error page, but only gives the following number:
1230768000

WOOO! This is amazing finding everyone. I am duly impressed!

Checking the page info on http://thisismymilwaukee.com/20138/ shows it was modified on December 2 - the same day the booklet was 'leaked'.

First, good job everyone. Another big step closer to getting that emerald casket, I hope.

Second, so, has anyone done an automated search for further such numbered pages?

So do we think this is the end of the road? While I'm certain that 1230768000 = Jan 1 2009, I'm not 100% convinced we're just supposed to wait for that date. In addition to waiting for January 16th =/

BTW, using the same date/time scheme, that countdown clock ends at 1232136000. FWIW.

Awesome work boys and girls. I'm impressed with both the PMs and all of you fine folks. I'm sure there's somewhere we can plug in this number. I've tried search engines, flickr, youtube, et al. Nothing yet. :/

I think there's one question that we haven't asked Mike yet. If not, why would the phone still be being answered. We need to find out what things he can tell us that we don't know about this book. Surely you know what I'm referring to...

or we still have to solve the pg26 table for the whole answer.

Perhaps the first table comes into play now that the second is solved? I've never had one clue on how to work it, but perhaps having that number will assist in some fashion?

EDIT: Sorry, posted at the same time. I can't see how it would fit, though.

I'm trying.. I should have 0-99999 done in a couple hours. Their server is running mod_bwlimit, which limits the rate at which requests are being returned.

Couldn't hurt.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to try dropping the phrase. Esp, when he is drunk. Or after they fire him and he is ready to talk shit.

I'm also not 100% convinced that 1230768000 means wait for that date. That is speculation. Good spec, to be sure, but it is so context free a number, and we have had it so little time, there could easily be other interpretations. If it is a "wait till then" message, not much harm in trying other angles in the meantime (just more frustration is all, TIMM seems to get one used to that Smile.

ergh... brute forcing is shady... imo, if it's limited then it may be fine, but it's a questionable practice generally speaking... Confused
