Voltaire is definitely still around, but he's so important that he's like a celeb I think. He has a very accurate memory of the 300 Troubles and is extremely powerful, and probably sits in on the Mayor's League meetings. Mike said he would like to meet him someday.

Based on your statement you're probably already aware, but in the interest of not assuming things a Turing test (named for Alan Turing) is meant to test a machine to see if it's artificial intelligence can fool a person through conversation into thinking that the machine is human. So that could indeed point to robots.

I believe I mentioned this earlier (the connection to Watt-Turing, Alan Turing and AI). I also mentioned that the chess scene in the original video could be a clue as chess is a standard testing ground for AI. It seems to me at this point that we're dealing with both a biological entity AND a mechanical/computer AI.

Question Question: Has anyone ever asked them how creating Go.D.S.E.E.D would solve our energy crisis? How does creating a new lifeform get us a new source of energy?

As I noted before, that Unix timestamp is going to happen twice this year.

I think this might be significant, as I don't think that it's an accident that they would pick the only number that will appear twice.

really? Please do elaborate!

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is calculated via very precise atomic clocks. Because the earth's rotation is ever so slightly slowing down, a 'second' measured atomically ever so slightly deviates from a 'second' as defined by the International System of Units ( 1/86,400th of the average solar day between 1750 and 1892). To keep the two in-line with each other, a leap second is added as necessary. The next leap second will be added between 23:59:59 December 31st 2008 and 00:00:00 January 1st 2009. Which means that, in Unix Timecode, 1230768000 could be counted twice. Though technically a leap second is considered to delay the onset of the following day, meaning 1230767999 would repeat itself.

This article explains how it works:

Quote:

1997-06-30 23:59:59.7 UTC -> 867715199.7 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:59.8 UTC -> 867715199.8 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:59.9 UTC -> 867715199.9 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.0 UTC -> 867715200.0 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.1 UTC -> 867715200.1 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.2 UTC -> 867715200.2 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.3 UTC -> 867715200.3 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.4 UTC -> 867715200.4 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.5 UTC -> 867715200.5 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.6 UTC -> 867715200.6 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.7 UTC -> 867715200.7 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.8 UTC -> 867715200.8 xntpd
1997-06-30 23:59:60.9 UTC -> 867715200.9 xntpd
1997-07-01 00:00:00.0 UTC -> 867715200.0 xntpd
1997-07-01 00:00:00.1 UTC -> 867715200.1 xntpd
1997-07-01 00:00:00.2 UTC -> 867715200.2 xntpd

The latter code actually is the one to repeat.

Ok, this is strange.. I just came across this whole "My Milwaukee" thing about an hour ago. I've been attempting to get up to speed on the whole thing, the TV playing in the background, reading through the forum, searching the net. And suddenly, what do I hear?

"And lets give a WARM Milwaukee welcome to JEFF DUNHAM!!!"

I nearly shit myself. I know it's just a crazy coincidence, but seriously... that's uncalled for world. Don't screw with me like that. I figured you guys would get a kick out of it.

lol Ah how the universe loves syncronity! The day I learned about TIMM was the same day my husband had just informed me he'd be leaving this coming Thursday for Milwaukee for an interview with a big chemical/medical/technologies company. I thought it was hilarious but after he saw the video he was very creeped out.

It took me forever to catch up and I was only a few days late. I highly recommend reading the wiki. Oh, and welcome to the insanity Smile

Ah, interesting. So even though in UTC the leap second is considered to be an addition to the end of the day, in Unix Timecode it appears as an addition to the beginning of the following day. Damn these conflicting and completely made up ways of determining our relative position in space/time!

A brief thought on the Tequila. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but this is something I noticed.

First, they push it pretty hard in the video. They want you to drink the Tequila, without letting you know they want you to. Secondly, on page 62 of the booklet, they say,

"All citizens, visitors, tradeswomen, and otherwise
uncategorized humanry who fail to complete the com-
pulsory emigration steps will lose, immediately and in
perpetuity, and only to be restored by Mayoral pardon,
the ability to apply for the 15% Tequila Tuesday discount
at participating FeBrizzio's resturants."

Which makes me wonder. What is up with the Tequila. It could be irrelevant, but the fact that they dedicated a whole paragraph in the booklet leaves me wondering. Could it be addictive, contain some additive, something of the sort?

Just a thought as I try to play catch up with the rest of the game.

Well in one of the other threads Mike mentioned to someone that he wasn't sure if the worker was human or robot ... But I didn't hear the call so I don't know how serious he sounded.

Earlier I posited that the switch from tequila to vermouth was due to the destruction of the planet, specifically the plant life, and the lack of trade between cities do to said destruction.

However, and this probably won't lead anywhere, tequila, or more specifically the plant it's made from, is being used in the medical industry to help treat people with various bowel disorders (would radiation poisoning cause malabsorbtion/malnutrition) and in one of Russo's messages he mentioned 'halcion days' which struck me as odd since the word is actually spelled halcyon. Halcion is a drug, a sedative. Maybe they're being drugged or treated for radiation poisoning or some other medical problem caused by the disaster?

Side note, halcyon general means golden, as in golden days, perfect days. Another color reference. So far we have red, blue, purple(grape), peach and now gold. Potentially yellow and green as well (yellow lemons, yellow cool dog glasses, green lime, green lights in the video, green marker etc). Also, Jagoda's mention of pallette instead of palette. Just one more example of how color is playing a part in all this.

It's a good thought, blessed.

Another thought (I never really took any high math or high science classes, so I'm going to be bringing up other things, instead) about M-Rotors. From the few, rare situations it's been mentioned, I always end up visualizing some of those huge power generating rotors from various video games. Is it possible that the M-Rotor is some sort of generator, that has also been miniaturized to a personal size? That'd bring up the "reseating" issue, and why you shouldn't do it. A layman attempting to repair some sort of heavy power generator could obviously have some pretty serious repercussions, and would also explain the "cleansing techniques" that usually follow any mention. Obviously, some sort of high power generator could easily leak hazardous chemicals.

There's another thought from me. I'll probably keep yammering for the next few hours, as things come up.

Edit: Yeah, I've read the rest of the posts, and have now figured out that Mike actually confirmed that a few hours before I even picked up the game. So nevermind then Very Happy

No drastic changes since yesterday then? So, are we forgoing the table on page 26 as a red herring?

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it a red herring, but Mike was pretty clear that it "isn't important yet" which I took to mean that we're going to need to solve something else before page 26's usefulness comes into view. I'm still looking at it now and then, but with less attention than I was before.

FWIW, apparently he corrected the spelling of "palette", I didn't know you could do that. Regardless, the word he's supposed to be using is 'palate'... Here's the collection to date of CDE tweets to date (times are Pacific):

I just clicked that BBC is Big Brass City (Decatur).

Edit: Hm, "pallette" actually is a word. According to dictionary.reference.com, it refers to some kind of armor.
