Old news now--been in transit all day--this in my email box from D:
Quote:
Alpha Level is the basic security level given to all employees. It gives basic access to the most non secure areas of the intranet system. What the possible repercussions may be are unknown, what is most surprising is that anyone would even want to breach the system at that level. However it concerns Jennifer and if she is worried about computer issues it is usually with good cause. I have my sources at TINAGPD looking into it.

Don has posed The Final Question which is in it's own forum thread.

Is it possible that Don takes his opportunity to corrupt one desperate finalist after they have been honestly vetted by scouts?

Hi Amandel, ThanksStuart MileyFri Dec 12, 2008 7:35 pm

By Chatting with them in a forum like this. Asking some questions that had been asked in previous rounds that kind of thing.DonTalonFri Dec 12, 2008 7:34 pm

And Hi Stuart--much good luck wishes for you and your family.amandelFri Dec 12, 2008 7:33 pm

And,Don,How do U help determine if they would make a good web presence?amandelFri Dec 12, 2008 7:32 pm

The benefactor does not vote.

Does the Benefactor have any input? OH-do u know if he votes like we will later?amandelFri Dec 12, 2008 7:23 pm

My part of the selection process is to interact with the candidates that are presented and help determine if they would make a good web presence. Any vetting is done before that.DonTalonFri Dec 12, 2008 7:22 pm

Are not that is.DonTalonFri Dec 12, 2008 7:21 pm

No this is a full time job for me, but surely you are familiar with all the aspects of the jobs your co workers do, if they aren't in the same position as you that is.DonTalonFri Dec 12, 2008 7:19 pm

You're jossing. Isn't this a fulltime job for you or do you do other shows?amandel Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:18 pm

I would assume so. I don't really know the full process of candidate selection.DonTalon Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:17 pm

Those scouts have a tough job. Do they all vet each of the 5 finalists?amandel Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:15 pm

My ideals are the same as the scouts that select the contestants. Everyone playing would make a fine Deserving One in my opinion.DonTalon Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:14 pm

Don--what are your ideals/attributes for The Deserving One?amandel Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:14 pm

I see. A little early for that here but as soon as this is turned over to the voters and the Benefactor tonight, I will be popping a cork or 2.DonTalon Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:13 pm

Yes. I change it from time to time but truth be told it is usually pretty close to the same question.DonTalon Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:07 pm

It is past time actually the Final Question has been posted. I am glad you took time out to be here.DonTalon Fri Dec 12, 2008 7:07 pm

I'm suspicious of Steve because he says don't vote for me vote for my daughter, and then he ends with vote for me. Also, he notes his need down to the penny. How could he possibly know that in advance?

thx victorgil-- have read their answers and plan to check once before the deadline to see if they amend and/or add anything.

Then maybe we toss it around here and/or on Mibbit and send our findings to Elizabeth? Cool

A group discussion seems like a good idea -- I know I've been wavering all week and don't want to overlook something someone else thinks is significant.

What do you guys think?

is he the one?[/b]

Re Steve's nbr: 254,698.23 = "bedfihbc" which when run thru Cryptogram Helper gives an immediate result: AMERICAN

EDIT: Not 100% convinced of anything yet there is still some time Dunno

it's gotta be steve, the number is way too high, plus it decrypts to a readable word...that can't be a coincidence.

I really didn't think the plant was Steve and I wanted Katie to get the surgery, but we were told that the plant would pass a code at the very end to signal that they were the intended winner. Steve is the only one who said anything that seems like a code.

I'm really leaning towards Steve, too. I don't like how he says the amount will be "nearly", and then gives an amount to the penny. Besides the fact that it translates to a code, $750,000+$254,698.23=$1,004,698.23 - not a far shot from the highest value Don Talon gave as a reward amount. Possibly the amount of "interest" gained?

His answer was by far the most suspicious.

Well, I just got up to take an aspirin but this dilemma has turned me into a Flaming Nutter . Let's keep digging and yaha, was planning to give Steve part of my votes also.
