Re: SO YOUR PROUD TO BE CHEATERS?

Maybe we should swing by the Isis site and see about contacting someone there, these grammatically challenged trolls are getting ridiculous...

So I went by the Isis site and found some contact e-mails...

E-Mail: infoSPLATsonicwarp.com

Professional Associates:

Name: Andrew Reeves
Title: Managing Director
E-Mail: andrewSPLATsonicwarp.com

Name: Anthony Heaton
Title: Director
E-Mail: anthonySPLATsonicwarp.com

Name: Jacqueline Champion
Title: Sales Director
E-Mail: jacquelineSPLATsonicwarp.com

Name: Martin Burton
Title: Web Consultant
E-Mail: martinSPLATsonicwarp.com

Name: Caroline Logsdail
Title: Administration Manager
E-Mail: carolineSPLATsonicwarp.com

Name: Chris Pitt
Title: Electronics Consultant
E-Mail: chrisSPLATsonicwarp.com

I don't know if contacting these guys would accomplish anything, but maybe we could let them know what's going on with their so-called players over here and try to figure out a way to stop this back and forth so the integrity of their game isn't compromised and we don't have guys who dropped $300 on a puzzle they can't solve threatening to sue us over imaginary crimes...

Or, we could just ignore them...

Thoughts?

Well, it seems a lot of effort to go to for a single troll, but I do feel somewhat bad for the people who are genuinely trying to play Isis fairly and paid the money for it. I would certainly be annoyed at the behaviour of the person starting this thread (more so than the troll who I sincerely hope, if not a player of Isis as they say, is certainly nothing to do with the game's public relations :p) If the game officials had genuine problems with this I imagine they would already be in contact with someone official here who could take appropriate action.

It's very, VERY obvious to anyone with half a brain that we are not the malicious party at Unfiction. No one has solved anything with the intention of ruining it for others.

That said, I would be interested to see what Isis have to say from their own mouths rather from someone who seems to have given themselves some imaginary and inflated station because they're a "top poster" on their site. I don't think it's a serious matter - I'd just be curious for my own interest :p

Isis Adventure Clues

first off i want to appoligize for the rudness several of the isis adventurers. i am an isis puzzle player/solver myself and am active on both the isis forum and the unfiction forum. i am sorry that you guys solved a riddle for someone else, but you did not give them anything. this puzzle has two layers. the first is a puzzle with a number of clues that are encrypted. for instance, the second puzzle, the Ramisis has the following 5 clues:

CLUE#1:43701624*753943433914*26311243213924*392431*51709292*46244321129239125718212631*43701624*
4339*7531832124

CLUE#2:832611*16141683167739*211118*3916432683*135711393913*21772416131613

CLUE#3:11308925*1719342513192272*303627255934*363034343011*3430*343049*343049*3430*363034343011

CLUE#4:301310658911*6572*652189*17611913101310*6572*891065613730131021*36724017*3061368917*4472
101365137211

CLUE#5:894651514617*31371451254628*17833151*46281157*8937*518319283723*55*12835519513719*518319
28*5146*19371137553137*511637*673757*14165517893719

these are not painfully difficult, especially for a group like yourselves. so once you have the puzzle in hand and the clues cyphered, in theory, you can open the puzzle. once you have done that then you can solve additional clues, which in turn help you find coins which can be redeemed for cash up to $1000.

the clue you guys helped solve simple led to a free puzzle. the thing is though, that if you're not smart enough to solve the encrypted message yourself, what chance do you have of figureing out what it means? then even if you do, you still have to go and search for it. for instance, i found one, i am certain of it, but its in michigan and i live on the west coast.

i will say though, that if one of you are able to solve the exact location of any isis free search and i am near its location and you are not, i will look for the puzzle and send it to you. i love increasing the size of the community and see no reason for owning more than one of each puzzle. as expensive as these things are, some people actually buy up to 5 of these. stupid i think because they are exactly the same. solve one, solve them all.

Also, dont think that andrew reeves, the inventor, and the sonicwarp team dont know this site doesnt exist. they do. they watch everything. the group of people on here are discussing the same things as on the isis forum and is only a small group.

again i appoligize for Steve Cornetts words and actions. he is a cop and as im sure you all know, some are great people and others are erogant @ssholes. i'm sure you know which catagory cornett falls into. also, he has determined that he will not create an unfiction account, but insists on wasting his life posting crude notes on unfiction. i am afraid none of us have seen the last of him.

As entertaining as this thread has been to read, I propose that if we aren't going to lock it down, we should at least rename it to something more appropriate, so people don't start reading it thinking its a real trailhead.

The fleecing of unfiction... or some such thing...

I just wanted to say that I find this all humorous. First, someone who is incapable of solving one of the free puzzles posts it here so you do his dirty work. Then when you do solve it, someone else gets pissy because you are solving puzzles and helping people who dropped money on them. So thanks to everyone for the good laugh! And another forum not to go to.

Humans are weird that way. What I just don't get; where all this hubbub is coming from? Shouldn't this guy be mad at the user who is ripping us off? It's like if you got asked for a phone book, then they used it to club some dude. We're not trying to hurt anyone, but we aren't going to run a background check on everyone who comes by asking for help. That's paranoia.

EDIT- By the way, I love that freaking clue bat!

Sorry, I find that hard to believe... It's probably what he told a lot of you, but even cops aren't this stupid. If he were he'd know the law (if any) about what uF are doing in RE: To the Isis post in timewasters, not tell us he's looking for some kind of law against it lol. He kind of screwed himself there, already.

Another Approach?

It's been a LONG time since anyone posted on this topic. After all these years, according to the website, this hidden Isis puzzle hasn't been found yet.

Either nobody has tried the offered solutions (which they actually seem reasonable), or the solutions were wrong.

I have a completely different spin on this, but I just don't have the spare time to do a decent job with it. So... If anyone wants to give this approach a shot, I'd love to hear what you found, if anything.

I was messing around with this for a bit this week. I put the character strings in a spreadsheet (one character per cell). I then "blacked out" the cells containing the numbers listed at bottom of the code (2, 1, 6, 3, 4, 5, 9, 0).
I was initially looking for patterns, so I pasted copies of this black and white grid pattern next to each other.

What I noticed is that it looked a LOT like a Data Matrix or QR Code.

That got me thinking... What if this IS part of a data matrix or QR code with GPS coordinates or a website URL? So, I started looking into those two ideas, and they got really complex, really fast; especially when you start getting into the error correction part of it.

Thinking maybe the core message could be extracted from my grid, I tried pulling out different Bytes of data (white = 0, black = 1), but I didn't get too far with that; I kept getting a lot of special characters. There are a lot of combinations to consider, however, so I'm not surprised my first attempt didn't work.

I still think there might be something to that idea, I just wish I had the time to play around with it some more.

So... If anyone wants to give this approach a shot, I'd love hear about what you discover.

Found

I'm embarrassed. With a quick search on the Isis Adventure Forums, I just found out that this one was found a couple years ago.
Never mind about the QR Code thing, obviously wrong!!!!
I did learn a lot about this type of coding though. Pretty neat stuff.
