Or an even better solution: http://deceptech.wikidot.com/chat

IRC on the page!

I know how everyone uses IRC chat, but you can add a chat function to your wiki. it's really simple and it keeps a log so people can keep up.

EDIT:

I added a chat on the wiki.

IMO , chatango is better because it automatically keeps a log of everything that was said whether you're in the room or not, that way everyone can keep up. (for those not familiar with all the IRC stuff like me).

Does IRC have this option or do you have to be logged in to see the chatroom conversations?

Well, as a protocol, it's not really possible for a new IRC client to have a backlog of what's been said before you enter the room. To do that, the software would have to anticipate when you're going to log in, silently log in a few minutes before, log everything, quit, then log you in. Nothing I know of does that Wink

Chatango does that. That's why I switched the wiki chat back. I think it'll be easier for everyone.

Looks like a pretty good tool. I'm in there now, and it keeps a log of what happens, even if you aren't online. Pretty cool. Messed with the wiki a bit, including adding the version one hacks... Thanks for setting it up, red.

Is there any way to have it set up so you can see who is in the chat room with you?

Please pick a chevron

if im not mistaken and im 50% sure, the other 50 arent because there are many matches for the word but this is the only one that matches the pics too

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Each location served by a stargate has its own unique "address", which is a combination of seven or more non-repeating symbols appearing on the dialing stargate. By "dialing" these symbols in the correct order, the traveler selects a destination.

The show is consistent with the mechanics of address-dialing. The process involves associating a unique symbol of the inner ring to each of at least the first seven of the chevrons on the outer circumference. The main "address" is invariably dialed first, and the last symbol is the "point of origin" " representing the gate being used, which acts as the final trigger for the completion of the address sequence. As each symbol is dialed, the chevron is said to "engage" or "encode" and usually responds by lighting up or moving. When the final symbol of an address is dialed, that chevron is said to "lock" and the wormhole opens (this terminology is arbitrary and often interchangeable, but preferred by the recurring character Walter Harriman). If the address is incorrect or does not correspond to an existing or otherwise functional stargate, the last chevron will not lock, and all of the chevrons will disengage.
