Some are speculating that TIMM is viral ad for a new Wild Arm (http://www.wildarms5.com/) game. I dunno though, it doesn't entirely fit to me.

In addition to no real similarities in theme, another point against this is that Wild Arms is much more popular in Japan than here, and games in the series are usually released in Japan about a year or so before they show up in the states. If there was a new one coming out anywhere even remotely close to January it would be common knowledge by now.

Watch the trailer for Barkley Shut up and Jam Gaiden on youtube and tell me that this kind of RPG-like world that is being built up by Russo and others wouldn't fit in with a Tales of Games Studios game. It's post-apocalyptic, plus the strange sense of humor that is present in the This is My Milwaukee video.

I know that Shut up and Jame Gaiden was pretty popular so I wouldn't be surprised if they got offers from bigger companies for something.

Also note the similarities in naming things: G.O.D.S.E.E.D vs. "the terrorist organization B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S." in the Barkley game.

They say here: http://www.gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=71364.0 that they're working on game 2 of the Barkley saga. This could be a promotion to it, although it seems bigger than that.

I fully agree that in all likelihood TIMM is a promotion for a new Charles Barkley game or a similar game created by Tales Of Games. I'm just reporting the speculation to encourage discussion. All theories are valid until proven otherwise, even ones I disagree with.

Waaaay back, and I'm having trouble finding it now, didn't someone post a link to a forum, where the Tales of Games people got messages from the TIMM people, and had no idea who they were?

I could be wrong. I'm still looking for it.

According to this thread, the TOG guys don't know anything about this (TOG is dogchode69 there.)

Though he did get a couple of messages on YouTube from "The MTC" that sound OOG in the first message:

Quote:
Hi.

Love your stuff. We gave you a "shout out" in the credits of our video at
thisismymilwaukee.com

Semper game's,
The MTC

and later, in post #57 another person there, sweating grandma, gets this:

Quote:
A small memory close to my heart
Sayyid سيد Jerry,

Picture, if you shall, a simpler time: early 2000, middle of March, a snowy Pittsburgh winter. (Pittsburgh is a city in the middle of America -- a good visual reference for you might be simply to say that it was the graphical reference for the NES classic "Bad Street Brawler.) America, Land of the Free and Home of the Game, had yet to descend into the living Hell that has been the legacy of Bush. Our society was content and powerful, cock-sure in the knowledge that we alone bestrode the earth with economic and gaming might unrivaled.

I was still in high school, a surly sophomore yearning for greater opportunity than the subpar regional gaming community could provide. I had skipped my third period class -- Literature, if you can believe that! -- and was stealing away to the audio/visual lab to be amongst my people.

I knocked on the door a few times (we kept it locked to protect ourselves from the unwashed un-gamer masses) and was surprised when no one came to offer me entrance. Nonplussed, I readied a lockpick which I kept for the quiet "liberation" of ingredients from the cafeteria's storage freezer that we used to brew our own quaint variation of gamer fuel. (It was a potent combination of clam, orange juice, and watered-down milk.)

No sooner had I begun to gently tease the lock's tumbler than open swung the door, my friend Tom standing in the precipice, eyes wild like those of a man who had seen the very face of the deep.

"Tom, what's going on?" I mused. "Why wasn't anyone answering the door?"

I peered over his shoulder. All of the lights in the room were off, and a cluster of shadowy figures squatted around a source of light.

"Everything's changed, Jake," he exclaimed, voice flat and committed like the words of a man who had seen the very face of the deep and had the eyes to match it. "Everything's changed."

I urged him to get outta de way as I muscled by his sinewy gamer form. There, in the center of the cluster was an XGA monitor, and on that monitor was your video, downloaded at great personal risk from a primitive Internet of the day.

There, in the quicktime window, I understood what it really meant to be a gamer. A voice had always whispered in the back of my mind, insisted that something like this was possible, and I was honored and shamed that I was even allowed to view it.

There were angles in the air that day, Jerry, and they danced on the wind as I walked home. That night, I played Tecmo Super Bowl for nine straight hours, and all was right in the world.

Do we truly believe that our cultures are that different? Black and white, Muslim and Christian? Even the Latinos -- do they not try to overcome their cultural handicap to game just as hard as us all?

Are we not all linked together by the animes and video games that wind the fabric of the universe?

The answer, of course, is yes.

Semper games.

Other than those, the thread is pretty much following the ARG via SA or here.

wow that game looks insane... i wouldn't even be that disappointed if TIMM was leading to a sequel for this, but it looks like that game studio is pretty low budget and TIMM looks like its for something huge, but who knows

game is freeware, i think im gonna give it a go...

So, a couple of weeks ago I turned the writers on my site to this...then we decided to do our "awards" for the year (arbotrary awards, basically a year in review) and one of my writers gave a mention to this.

then I got a comment from the Milwaukee Tourism Commission.

"If you like M-Rotors — I mean really, REALLY like M-Rotors — then pay attention to the site when the counter reaches zero."

Just thought I'd share that...here's the original article. http://www.epicdefault.com/?p=331#comments

Didn't know which other thread to drop this in, but in case anyone was interested, I managed to find full 'clean' versions of the two songs from the original TIMM video at the composer's (Todd Mazierski) site:

Is there any info you can give us like IP address used to leave the comment or the email associated with the comment? That might prove helpful.

TOG

My boyfriend, who originally pointed out the TIMM video/ARG to me, decided to download and play "Tales of Game's Presents Chef Boyardee's Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa". He said there is a VERY obvious "Family Tree" in a house 5 minutes into the game. Apparently it is just sitting on a table, and you cannot interact with it. I will try to get a screen shot up later today! Oh, also he was just sent on a quest to locate "Jamicite". (please throw rocks at me if you guys already knew about this)

He just started the game over for my sake- I have the screenshot on it's way to me via the magic of e-mail. It's actually in the room just downstairs from your pic, and on the floor. It's got a lot more greenery on it than our usual "family trees", but I can see a strong resemblance to a fennel plant. Debatable, but compelling no less!

EDIT: Okay, here is Barkley contemplating a strange, bulb-y plant thing.

I was thinking about it a bit, and there seems to be a recurring theme in the naming of many characters in this ARG, and that's names connected to the color red. For example;

Chuck Jagoda - Means "strawberry" in Croatian and Serbian, and "berry" in Polish.

Mars Madison - The red planet

Lipps Leroux - French name meaning 'red-haired'. Plus, lips are red.

Mike Russo - Russo is a variant of Russi, an italian surname which means red.

Larose Burton - Rose = red.

I really couldn't say if this was significant at all, but it seems possible. It also makes me think of that red gemstone that Terry Nanny handed Treasure Hunter M at the end of the video.

EDIT - Incidentally, I noticed that towards the end of the video credits, we see a red kanji (japanese character) sign that is 'Aka', the kanji for red, and a red sign that says SPORT, a mostly indecipherable red and black shape above it, and red doorways. This is also the part where "Slow jazz millennium" is mis-subtitled as "Champion Dynasty". I really have to wonder if this all points to something about the significance of the color red.

EDIT #2 - Just a few more things I noticed surrounding the color red, though most are probably less prominent:

- All of the food options in the video, except the vegetarian option, were circled in zig-zags of red ketchup.

- Mike Lewis writes in red ink in the M:ARH photos.

- There is a red lanyard bookmark in the M:ARH pages with the charts, which have been prominent in puzzles.

- According to Jagoda's twitter, Voltaire wears a red suit.

- Mars's Facebook image is red.

- R-RMRR AI 3 .A23 was written in bold red letters.

- 'Rose Main Reading Room', named after a Rose.

 Rants
I like to hear myself type

TheRyuujinMike, great work. That sounds like a solid deduction and I'd like to see where the color red leads us.

The rest of this post on the other hand will just off-the-wall speculation b/c I don't think I have much to contribute beyond random rants.

On Emerald Nuts...
Though I think the whole TIMM is a little too outlandish for even an Emerald Nuts sponsorship, the NY clues seem to confirm some correlation with EN's New Year event. Here are some possible EN ties, however loose they might be:
1. "Emerald" casket
2. "Canning" district
3. The Go.d.s.e.e.d., nuts being a kind of seed.
4. The Go.d.s.e.e.d. fragments shown in the TEEN segment look like peanut halves. lol

On the SF drop...
The babies took it, the PM's posted it. bruno, bruno... :/

On quiet PMs...
Did we stumble upon Central Park too soon? TIMM detective work has shown it's a significant place, but maybe not the next step in our storyline. IMHO the person/people who took the Fax + SF drop and figured out Central Park, NY might have done so too fast (for our PMs). It was genius, but I imagine there may have been some other puzzles and clues in the works that may have been planned in-between. idk

On January 16th...
THE Go.D.S.E.E.D. AWAKENS!! A new video is posted on the TIMM website. The idealic postcard background is changed to an apocalyptic wasteland?
