Quote:
The three on the moon is the easiest thing to see, the thing that shouldn't be there so you can't help but notice it. It is over the 03 card in the spread, and that seems unlikely to be a coincidence ... /moon/moon/moon? The third moon ... of what? The third month ... full moon in the third month ... March 15th or so?

This caught my eye and jogged my memory.

March 15th aka ides of March.

The prophet in Julius Caesar warns him to beware the Ides of March.

Quote:
SOOTHSAYER:
Caesar!

CAESAR:
Ha! who calls?

CASCA:
Bid every noise be still: peace yet again!

CAESAR:
Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue, shriller than all the music,
Cry 'Caesar!' Speak; Caesar is turn 'd to hear.

SOOTHSAYER:
Beware the ides of March.

CAESAR:
What man is that?

BRUTUS:
A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

CAESAR:
Set him before me; let me see his face.

CASSIUS:
Fellow, come from the throng; look upon Caesar.

CAESAR:
What say'st thou to me now? speak once again.

SOOTHSAYER:
Beware the ides of March.

CAESAR:
He is a dreamer; let us leave him. Pass .

I'm gonna chew on that for a bit, see if I think of anything else. Was wondering if anyone else thought it bore any significance.

other quick fact that is probably a strech but nonetheless I feel it merits mention on the off chance someone notices something the comment made me look at planets with 3 or more moons and neptune as 3 major moons, one of which is proteus, which as already popped up as a useful login...

That's a first rate catch ArtificialChaos, a nice bit of lateral thinking that makes a connection. Put a 3 on a full moon, and you've just addressed a message to Caesar in a way that's not ridiculously obvious, yet is still a clear message in the visual language that the graffle author uses. Kudos!

Thanks, but now what do you think he is saying? This game makes me head want to explode, but in a pleasant addictive way.

What's he saying

Well, as I've written elsewhere, if you believe that omni is the one who makes the graffle images, texel says in silvia3.txt

Quote:
omni was right - the layout here indicates more than just some thunderstorm or something

(incidentally, people think omni is the one who makes the graffle images because of a drawing and charting software for Macs named Omni Graffle)

So, the message apparently indicates the whomp/spike/surge is a significant and unusual event (beyond just a lightning strike in a thunderstorm). Apparently that is expressed somehow in the tarot spread part of the image (since we have what I think is a strong hypothesis for what the 3-moon layer of the image expresses).

How does it say that? I dunno Confused What do people think of when they see an image of a tarot spread?

And ... (who recently posted): It sure would be nice if we could find the source of the moon image ... if we could find it using google's image search like the tarot image, that would be comforting. It suggests that omni uses this as a means of finding the images that are used in his files/messages. I've been searching using "full moon" ... I've also searched using "fire eater" to find the source of the carelessly graffle image, but no luck there either.

This one is sooo obvious that it's poking out from my chest, but I only just noticed it...

Good stuff Chaos. To me, the picture is just a message now, the subject line if you will, and gives a teaser for the message to follow: layout (tarot spread, or how the cards are laid out) and storm (clouds in the sky... I know its a bit of a jump, but I can make this one).

Its like Omni is saying "Hey ceaser: here are my thoughts on the whole storm idea, it doesn't look that way given the layout..."

Am I wrong or am I wrong? Wink

[Edit] and I know that those are slmost exactly texels words, but tex is only agreeing to ceasar with what Omni "says" in his/her pic.

Yep, I think that just about does it. The tarot cards are a layout. Furthermore, the thing about a tarot layout is that it is about searching for meaning, to figure out what's going on. You don't need to figure out a thunderstorm ... you do need to figure out the source of the whomp. That's how texel reads the graffle image.

I think we've got silvia.graffle.jpg nailed down, and I think omni=graffle is just about a dead certainty now. Time to turn to other silvia files Very Happy

Perhaps the inevitability of something as well. Tarot being tied to predicitng the future and all.

If the thunderstorm is the release of the AI, or even the AI simply up to something big the tarot maybe significant because of their fate reference.

After all there are lots of people who believe the creation of AI is an inevitable destruction of our species/way of life who at the same time think that creation of AI is an inevitable fact as well.

Lessons still to be learned from silvia (and carelessly)

There is still more in there. In silvia:

-we still haven't got much of anything on the spiral graphics (bh)
-we haven't really understood all the plain text messages (kbp, gif, lhp), both in terms of which authors use which extensions, and what they mean specifically by some of the language they use
-we haven't got much on the 'single-word image' user (doc)
-while the tomato image with text (wsg) seems like a straightforward compliment, I'd like to know more
-we haven't really scratched the surface on the cryptic messages (ypt)

As was the case for omni graffle and the moon tarot image, we can try to figure out what the message means, and just who wrote it. Skeptical has started a thread entitled 'Big Picture', which I think is what we should be trying to develop by looking at these little pieces in context to tease these facts out of them. The moon tarot image really fell into place because we used silvia3.txt to help figure it out ... we should keep going with that approach ... at least until we have some new clues to work on Very Happy

I'm pretty sure the the first ypt file either was generated by a program similar to the RoboPoet, or was deliberately written to mimic that style (Cut-up poetry). A lot of the word choices are the same, and the phrasing is similar.

How this fits in the flow of conversation, I have no idea.

Nice find - that's it, I'm sure. I got some verses matching almost word for word; same kind of random repetitions; and even that non-word "unholily" is there. The only difference is that the "poet" had 19 verses, and Robocop generates 20.

So, is "ypt" the poet that "scratch" addresses in "carelessly"? And what about his other 2 speeches? I don't think they are encrypted words, because it would be pretty hard to encrypt a bunch of words in such a way that they all turn out to be a bunch of other actual words...

Something that's been bugging me.

If the file types identify hackers, why are there less here than there were in the carelessly files?

"Qm2", "M_U" and , "goo" are missing.
