Not to deviate the conversation, but it looks like the game has been announced officially. Check out the fancy site!

I'm so pumped to play it. It'll be the first WiiWare game I get!

I hate these things. Neutral

Anyway, the game looks better than I thought it would be.

Hmm, too bad it wasn't anything longer than a short burst.. I would have gotten more into this.

It reminds me of an old Japan-Only game.. Ages ago, not sure what it was called then..

Nice one, Robbie! I can't draw anything for my life, but I'll make a video with the song we already know. I hope he's as grateful as ever.

 Why hello!

Hey everyone... now that all the activity has calmed down a bit, I figured I'd say hello! I'm Chris, the programmer for Gaijin Games working on BIT.TRIP BEAT. I just wanted to send a personal thanks to all of you for playing along with our little game. This forum was by far the most active and fun to read (yes, we were watching the whole time!).

I have a few questions for you guys too. In retrospect, what parts of the whole thing were most fun for you guys? What parts were boring/lame? Thanks!

If anything I would make the viral video deal more with the game. That's not just to limit it to Bit.Trip Beat but the experience as a whole. I loved interacting with the Commander, as not many of the previous experiences I've participated in have featured that level of one on one interaction but learning more about the situation with the soldiers would be interesting. Not sure if you can address this with future Bit.Trip titles, or perhaps similar experiences for them, but I would be interested to learn more about the situation. Also I think you guys should continue with this type of interactivity for the future Bit.Trip releases, despite the existing knowledge that you guys are pulling the strings. I'm not sure how many of your company resources were spent on it, but if at all possible just know that we would all likely be up for it.

Also I commend you guys on how you handled things when we players peeked behind "the curtain" by contacting Alex through Xbox Live, and eventually through email. You guys kept it together which really added to the illusion.

On a personal level as a gaming blogger I thought speaking directly to you guys was pretty awesome as well. Most of the time when I talk to developers I have to ask any questions through the publishers PR people. You guys have all been super accommodating.

All in all I'm pretty satisfied. The Nintendo Power scans were kind of a setback, (and I'm curious to hear if you guys had anything else planned that was ruined by that fact) but at least if you decide to do something like this again, that won't happen.

Thanks for the fun time, and I can't wait to check out Bit.Trip Beat!

I'm mostly going with KLind on this one.

I really loved the interaction with the commander too. The video itself was awesome as well, got me creeped out at least Very Happy Though like KLind said, it could have had a bit more to do with the actual subject at hand.

All in all it was a great experience. Looking forward to any future ARGs you might run Smile

Thanks a million!

Thank you for the awesome feedback! It's been a blast for us too. Luckily our publisher (Aksys Games) is so cool, they don't mind us getting the word out. As a company, Gaijin Games believes strongly in community, so expect us plenty more opportunities for involvement with the BIT.TRIP series.

Oh, and for the record, Nintendo Power didn't really "spoil" anything. We knew it was coming out and were trying to time the full reveal to the street date of the magazine. Of course, we couldn't know exactly when someone would blow the cover, so we had to wing it. I think we were one day off from our plan in the end, hence two updates that day.

As for the relevance of the video, let's just say this is game 1 of 5, so don't expect everything to make complete sense just yet! Wink

Overarching plot? I'm interested.
