Oh, don't get me wrong, I think it is very appealing as well. The "master/slave" theme runs throughout both Ms and the Animatrix, and I love how complex W Bros made it. The robots in SR - the slave becomes the master, and while we can sympathize with the slave, we reject the master, who remains the same entity. The very questionable "freedom" of Zion - the dark, unattractive, almost "unlivable" city where any given individual is far more controlled and regulated than in the matrix itself. The gnostic symbolism of freedom... Etc. In that sense the plagues would fit the theme quite well.

And Omnie, sorry I can't work anything along the lines of "no, I didn't smoke anything funny" into this post, but I'll try next time Smile

Biblical references

The articles on lil-box talk about the plagues that are put upon the realm of Egypt when Pharoh imprisoned Moses. It was not until Moses was released that the plagues ended.
