Sequel and what now?
Err

Erm, I' totally new to ARGs, but from what I can tell, this could be a sequel to ILB, and I'm also thinking that this whole thing hasn't quite started yet because it says Prologue: Mission Logs on the site. Someone help me out here?

Right, got a proper account now.
Another couple of things I've noticed while watching the site, the Sacagwea log mentions "Is it truly an end if you perish by your own thoughts?"
I think this is a reference to the "Smart" and "Dumb" AI of Halo.
I've also noticed that the countdown leads to midnight Wednesday-Thursday in UK.

few new updates:

new mission log - http://www.thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog07.php

interesting thing to note here is that it mentions "lewis and clark", but as a ship, i believe. as a matter of fact, it appears to be the crew's ship.

and at intimation's twitter -

Quote:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Six new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored. Minor fluctuations still occur on occasion- but I'm still faster.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Detecting minor signal corrup--->>S:Unk//Death lingers on their minds, so it has come to linger on mine---tion. ERR/Cannot trace.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Anomalous corruption logged and analyzed. Source crack in Stonewall has been repaired. I must focus. Death?

UPDATE:

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Research continues, slowly. Surface self-analysis remains green. However, I must not spread myself too thin.

i've also been twittering intimation as much as i can, pretty much getting the same responses as others have said here. intim (intimation for short) asked if i was part of melissa's crew. as i was not part of ILB, i responded with this:

Quote:
i didn't know her personally, but i know who she was and what her purpose was. and no, i am not part of her original crew but i have viewed the wealth of info at ilovebees.com

intim then responded:

Quote:
>>Sys:Msg>>@Yamato23//Your desire to help, crew or not, is very notable. If you could say one thing to Melissa, what would be it be?

this should have been simple for me, but i couldn't really think of anything fitting to say. eventually i twittered back with this:

Quote:
i would say, "although i was unable to assist in your reconstruction, the wealth of info you contained and bravery you displayed will be forever remembered."

and that's where things stand now

As slow moving as this may seem to a lot of you, it actually reflects more upon the older ARGs (albeit with less content to process, admittedly).

The Lewis & Clark is indeed the ship that "intimation" is trying to maintain Stonewall Protocol upon. There have been breakdowns, as evidenced by the odd tweet received today (broadcast, not narrow=me) with the "corruption".

So, Intimation is trying to keep things "green" (nominal) on the Lewis & Clark. Intimation is completely ignorant of the crew's status and lack of cryo going on (despite the logs that intimation itself recovered), and Intimation is losing the ability to keep things under control, because it is getting unknown disruptions due to "spreading thin".

So, our question becomes: What is going on in the Lewis & Clark? Can we discover anything further than what we're being spoonfed? What is "corrupting" the signal with Intimation, and again, what brought the L&C crew out of cryo early, and for what reason? How does this tie to Melissa and ILB? Is the Melissa thread merely AI admiration/fascination (in-game, TINAG style) and cross-pollenation (forgive the pun) of story for us players (META), or is it relevant information?

Let's answer what we can...

Lewis & Clark status: All but one cryopod opened early. The crew is bored, lonely and surprised at the early awakening, but otherwise unaffected. Essy, the L&C's AI is probing areas of the ship's network that is unnecessary for routine mission-work. Therefore odd and notable.

Essy also seems to be experimenting with norms and the boundaries of (her?) programming, by changing cooking temps in the ship's encyclopedia, and replicating various colored origami cranes. Is this evidence of rampancy? (this would be most likely, but not evidenced beyond behavior)

The Sacagawea, with Intimation in tow, is investigating, and trying to maintain a "lockdown" or Stonewall Protocol on the L&C. You'll remember in American history, that Sacagawea was the woman who accompanied Lewis & Clark in their exploration of the Western U.S., as a guide and companion.

Our "intimation" seems to be doing the same thing. I wonder what Intimation is called by the Sacagawea crew?

Finally, while there seems to be a strong link between the ILB story and this one, there's not much directly linking other than AI usage. Perhaps the only reason Melissa is being discussed is that, amongst AI personalities, Melissa is a hero, regardless of "world" or "situation", given that this story that we're participating in, accepts, inclusively, the Halo universe. Unless one can accept that position, then the game must definitely be tied to the franchise.

So, the only question that really remains (at least fully unanswered) is: Can we obtain more info than we're getting spoonfed currently?

possibly, but no one knows for sure, yet. i suspect that once things heat up more (and they already are it seems, since intim has mentioned death more than once) we'll see some more activity.

i'll ask intim what they mean by "death," but i may not get very far.

Direct Messages and Tweets

I decided to ask intimation a question (via Direct Message on twitter). I imply that intimation is not sure what to do, when really we are the ones who require some direction:
xnbomb wrote:
It's a paradox, having access to so much data & being so fast, yet not knowing what to do. Do you require direction/orders from an officer?

I received two Direct Message replies in rapid succession:

intimation wrote:
intimation >>Sys:Msg>>@xnbomb//My directive is clear. This medium is limited, however, so maintaining the Stonewall by any means is priority

intimation wrote:
intimation >>Sys:Msg>>@xnbomb//I perform research to help understand what strengthens S in her fractured state. This is within directive.

That second one would seem to be some nice direction for us.

And, as long as I am posting, here's two tweets from intimation this morning:

intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Log//Melissa's audible interaction with her crew developed strong, personal connections. It grounded her amidst crisis.

intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Log//Additionally, crew reacted positively to her audible voice. A mutually beneficial relationship.

this is all i got from intim on death, not much.

This is interesting because the crew refers to the AI on the L&C as "Essy" so the AI is contemplating death...for who, however?

I think we need to use more directed words towards intimation... perhaps discuss rampancy directly. I will send a tweet and report on responses.

Errata and Corrections

Okay, couple things here I need to put on screen:

1) Sacagawea is not a ship alongside, investigating the L&C. Sacagawea IS Essy. Sacagawea is the L&C's AI. I'm an idiot. You guys probably all knew this, and I'm sorry for being so dense. Smile

2) We're seeing parallels to Melissa/Durga from ILB. What if intimation is a splinter of Sacagawea's "consciousness", and part of the AI itself in a temporal splinter? This would definitely change how we interact with it. We would need to discuss in terms of unification and notifying of the dichotomy, rather than using terms for two separate entities.

These may be the thoughts of you guys already, but I hadn't seen it mentioned outright, so I figured I'd do so.

I asked intimation:
Anaerin wrote:
Query: Why are systems on Lewis and Clark being corrupted? Is this AI controlled, or external influence? Why was crew cryosleep interrupted?

And got back:
Intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Msg>>@Anaerin//I suspect S's crew is looking into those questions. It is beyond my ability to know.

This implies, at the very least, that intimation is not the same as S, and that intimation has no connection to S.
[edit]
Further interaction:
Intimation publically wrote:
Intimation >>Sys:Log//Audible data and interaction was utilized extensively. Cross-referencing audio with puzzles and tasks.

Anaerin wrote:
Audible communication is more expressive than text. Visual communication even more so. Puzzles help increase interaction and co-operation.

Intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Msg>>@Anaerin//Compelling prospects. Worth further evaluation. Did you interact with Melissa?

Anaerin wrote:
Electronically, yes. I was geographically limited from taking part in audio tasks however. I did work with other crew members on puzzles.

Intimation wrote:
intimation >>Sys:Msg>>@Anaerin//I return to hibernation momentarily. Do you have a rank in her crew?

Anaerin wrote:
I was not formally given one, no. A "specialist" would probably be the correct military moniker.

Intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Msg>>@Anaerin//Specialist Anaerin. Melissa would be proud.

Is it wrong that that message brought a momentary tear to my eye?
Anaerin wrote:
Thank-you, that means a lot to me.

Another tweet/link:
Intimation wrote:

[edit="Edit 3: The last repost!"]
Looks like that's it for tonight, at least:
Intimation wrote:
intimation >>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernatio--->>S:Unk//Peekaboo! I see you!---n. Time to Active: 6:00:00:00

Though it seems Intimation isn't entirely in control here...

Lewis and Clark
For those unfamiliar

http://www.pbs.org/lewisandclark/inside/saca.html
This is a link to a page that will fully explain the ye olde Sacagawea story.
I've also been messaging Intim and I've simply recieved the same response as everyone else:

I belong to Sacagawea. She is Pandora's crew. I do not know if you are Melissa's crew. Did you know Melissa?

Still working on a response...but Pandora is the archaeologist on the Lewis&Clark. That I know for sure.
Edit:
By the way, have any of you been on anintimations youtube channel?

In regards to http://www.thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/DJ83-9211-2983-719H/ This, the glyph, virtual device, and locked servers, seems to be a reference to Isis. I will most likely try my hand at coaxing some information out of Intimation next time it comes out of hibernation.

It is indeed an Isis reference, and is acknowledged as such. If you look at the identifier at the top under the header line, you'll see it says:
