dreamerblue brought this up in chat. SAI that we see in the urls, could very well stand for "Scorpio AI" which was on Dreaming Eyes' wrist band. We can see it in the pictures above (Thank you, very much, catherwood!) and hear Essy talk about it in this mp3 from Part 6 of her story. http://thewaytheirworldended.com/CLIP/prime.mp3
I've edited my post above about the url's, based on dreamerblue's thoughtful observation.

Also, the virus that Sacagawea "made-up" was called 541-P.. which looks like SAI and the P could stand for Prime. Revenge, perhaps.

...especially as, just before Dreaming Eyes says the 5-and-41 part of that audio, she says the symbols looked like numbers OR LETTERS.

Edit: cath just reminded me that Sys officially told us in twitter once upon a time that it is a sub-layer of Sacagawea, so Sys = Sacagawea isn't strictly true.

 		I am still torn - we were talking in IRC about me going back to the Los Angeles mission to run it again and see if I got anything new on the ground.

I've been resistant, because the Society's notes have indicated that this is all stuff we'll find through Essy, and not out in the world like the skulls in Portland.

Yet again, they do mention "fresh air," and they might have meant it literally.

We found stuff at the directory page for the missions that updated to show Sys' signature -- :@], but I just don't know if we're meant to go out again to those four missions.

I suppose they could've JUST put the signature on one each of the missions whose directories had skulls and been done with it, but the fact that there's repetition (more than one mission updated with the same directory) points toward there being more stuff in the GPS mission waypoints.

What say ye, hive mind? Am I destined to head out into the wilds of the City of Angels once more?

 		Well, krystyn, it would be nice if we could get at least one of the 4 tagged missions re-run so we can see if there is indeed any change...and since you, Nyst and halo422mk are the three uFers who were able to complete those missions, that means calling on one of you...so it would be really nice if you would Smile...as much as I know you weren't so happy with the route last time Sad.

ETA: Eridanos has sent a couple tweets, yay! One of them asks if there's been any progress finding Essy. Um, we're supposed to be looking for her, AND skulls Sad?

 		I don't think that we're supposed to do the GPS Missions. After all, the first time they tried them, we had an abysmal showing, as only three of our players were close enough to participate in any of them. Plus, the society seemed pretty specific that what we were looking for was not something physical in nature. Though it could be argued that the URL that you would be rewarded with is not a physical object, I'm thinking that we're supposed to find all of these skulls online somewhere.

But, if you find yourself bored with nothing to do krystyn, it couldn't hurt to try it again, haha. I just think that we should exhaust our other options first. On that note, I don't suppose we have an idea of how many skulls we expect there to be, and/or how close we are to finding them all?

One current theory, based on looking at http://intimation.glitterbook.com/wiki/S5:RPT_2#A_Table_of_Skulls , is that there seems to be 4 different colours of skulls, and 5 different orientations (though the Ordinal skull looks slightly different from the others on its row, we're taking them all as the same until proven otherwise), so there might be 20 skulls. A lot of people have tried a lot of different ways of finding said skulls (as evidenced by that whole page); we're not really sure how to find the 5 more that might be out there Sad.

I had simply assumed that the 4 entries on the mission page with recent dates were new missions, not repetitions of past instructions. (Granted, I know nothing about how those things work.) Or replacements. I take it that you can look at the assignment and know that it has already been completed? My vote was that someone should hit one of those 4 locations, just to settle the question.

Ah yeah, no - I don't recall what the site looks like when you're logged out and looking at the missions, but these were all missions that had been attempted previously.

For instance, I can look at the Los Angeles one and see the path I walked when I completed it back in April.

I guess the thing that's tipping me over into going out there again is that they updated four missions, which only point to *two* directories. If they had *only* wanted us to look at those directories, they would've just updated two missions, correct?

So, logically, all of those missions would theoretically now have some skull URLs at waypoints instead of (or along with) the original pieces of Dreaming Eyes' story.

Here's why I think it's the thing to do.

Let's revisit the clues from "the society" found at Eridanos' blog and http://drop.io/twtwtwe#.

Having found the skulls on line, we now know what the society was getting at here. The skulls aren't physical ones, but are virtual ones instead.

Only "A FEW" did the missions. "FRESH AIR" is outside. "PATHS ONCE TROD" could certainly mean the routes already taken on the GPS missions. "JUST AS THE DREAM SKULLS WERE FOUND", i.e. via a GPS mission.

Next, we have http://gpsmission.com/user/pricklypear/missionsCreated where we find SYS's signature :@] on four cities; NYC, LA, St. Louis, and Vancouver.

At one point in the game, halo422mk (NYC), krystyn (LA), and Nyst (St. Louis) all received messages from S via gpsmission.com , right? Is it a coincidence that those are the cities chosen? I think they were picked because the PMs know that there are players in those cities, familiar with the "path once trod", who have the technological capability to complete these missions.
As for Vancouver, I have a theory why it was chosen. (Possible behind the curtain peek spoilered)

I think the PM is Canadian and knows of someone in Vancouver who can complete this mission. It may be as a back-up plan or may be to have Canada represented.


The sites/pages where we have found the virtual skulls so far, have been places of a fun task and/or meaningful to S's personal story told to us through Dreaming Eyes' tale. The GPS mission site, and it's original intent; fits that bill exactly.

Finally, we seem to have exhausted places to look strictly online. So where else could they be but there. Smile

 		I've just had an epiphany as to why the tweets have been so different lately. Perhaps y'all have realized this already, but just in case...

According to my time zone (EDT), this tweet was sent 5:05 AM Jul 16th by initimation:

In other words, Sys itself--as in the layer of S that was maintaining SWP--has been kidnapped (seized)! The S* subroutines that were working fine before (S1, S2, S3, and S5) were not kidnapped, though, and it is them we are hearing from. In the absence of Sys, S5 seems to have taken charge and delegates tasks as needed (or at least that's the sense I get). It is S5 that made the tweet quoted above, mentioning an alert that it could not "secure" Sys (i.e., get it back from having been kidnapped). S5 also decided to release S4 from quarantine in the second-last tweet published to date.

I think that is another subtle nudge, saying that, *sigh* what I always say, that we are missing something and should be able to/ or should have already found the navpath, I also vote yea for redoing at least one of the mssions, they will either give us another URL, or the navpath, Im kinda hoping both

 		I should be heading out in a bit to the Los Angeles mission. Sigh. That was the tricky one, as one waypoint was in the middle of a hard hat construction zone, and I had to walk through a parking lot really close to the fence to get close enough to register it.

It's possible the waypoints have changed, of course, and I won't run into any issues at all! I just worry. It was frustrating back in April, to say the least.
