Nyst, great work on the pictural trail! You beat S to it. She has all of Essy's trail from last week now posted at http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/LOG/
I guess it's what she is referring to in this tweet.
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//This prompted me to execute an experimental controlled leak. I've dumped Essy's activity and recorded tentacle nodes to SYS.S2.

eta: aww, Nyst is faster than me too. Smile

I just got 3 DMs on Twitter from Intimation. Anyone else?

(Well, OK, 2 DMs, as one got split into two by my text service on my iPhone)

>>S:Unk//Our last game really wasn't too easy, but compared to this one, that one was breezy! ♫ Here we go round the prickly pear... ♫

So, "prickly pear" is another reference back to "The Hollow Men" for starters?

The Prickly pear is a cactus, the "Opuntia".

The tune itself, however, I remember as "Here we go 'round the mulberry bush".

Or, doing a good impression of the Sleeping Princess, heh. And Cortana from the Cortana Letters.

It's from the FIFTH stanza
Quote:
Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o'clock in the morning.

That's a couple fives then.

I have a feeling we'll get this one faster if we're able to chat a little more quickly - IRC anyone?

irc.chat-solutions.org #Intimation ? (The Standard UNFiction chat applet will get you close, IIRC).

On the TWTWE site, click on the little light blue rectangles that look like part of the background. Click on them and it will popup a message box. Only found "Not it" so far.

Nine of these breadcrumbs appear on each page load, on every page of the site today. Their location on each page seems to be more or less random -- i.e., they're in different locations each time. The pop-up is generated from http://thewaytheirworldended.com/peekaboo-pricklypear-X-Y, where X and Y are the coordinates of the breadcrumb.

FIrst off: Hi.
Second: Was this always there?

Hi. I've been lurking here for a while and I've been doing some tweeting with Intimation but this whole ARG thing is still new to me.

I found this in the page source for TWTWE.

Quote:
...Where there is an observatory and
a telescope, we expect that any eyes
will see new worlds at once.

-Thoreau

Was that always there?

The thoreau quote has indeed always been there.

We're chatting a little about this on IRC. I can see a potential way to brute-force the puzzle (with 280,000 possible locations it may take a while), but I'd rather not at this point. Can anyone see any rhyme/reason/logic in here?

Re: [TRAILHEAD] Intimation
Re: breadcrumbs

HA! Found one!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's a breadcrumb on the "Don't Push Me" log entry that is static (i.e. it doesn't move around when you reload the page). You'll have to use the direct link (http://www.thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog10.php) rather than just loading it from the main page. The static breadcrumb is hiding on the left -- just above "MISSION LOG: DAY 16" -- cleverly camouflaged as part of the usual graphic. Clicking on it leads to http://thewaytheirworldended.com/affinity-with-dirt

Edit:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
For completeness: The breadcrumb is 117-208
