Wow. That's a long way to go around.

Personally, I paste the binary into notepad, hit CTRL-H, put "0" in the "Find what" box, " " in the "Replace with" box, and hit the "Replace all" button.

MUCH quicker than using some other piece of software...

But this definitely rules out that this is a fan made thing. How could one person get missions all over the globe?

They are virtual missions, all you need is a computer to create them.

We're gonna need some help...

NEW GPS MISSIONS:

Quote:
--Hollywood, CA. Starts at Grauman's Chinese Theatre
--Philadelphia, PA. Starts in Chinatown, in the middle of Arch St. and Filbert St. across from Cuthbert St.
--Portland, OR. Starts in Kenton Park.
--Vancouver, Canada. Starts in Portside Park.

This is different from the BROKEN-PIECES puzzle. It is probably the next step in the ARG though.

FINALLY!
I live about 30 miles from Hollywood, so I might go attempt that mission this weekend.

Do I need anything before I go? What kind of GPS is best for this?

my guess is that we only have part of the binary picture, and the rest of the picture is in the GPS missions - either that, or has reversing the picture of binary revealed anything?

EDIT: tried mirroring the binary - got nothing

The second picture looks like an eagle badge or something.
What gear would I need to do a GPS Mission?

looks something like a scorpion... maybe relating to that puzzle from a while back, i assume?

and kilination, gpsmissions.com says that you need a phone with an internal gps device or an external gps device.

You need a phone with a built in GPS, or an external bluetooth GPS.
It needs to have a touchscreen, and the screen needs to be oriented vertically, and not square.

It must run Windows Mobile or Symbian. iPhone will also work, but I've heard not all iPhones have GPS.

The easiest way to test this would be to go www.gpsmission.com from your phone and attempt to use the program. If you have any other questions, they might be listed here: http://gpsmission.com/FAQ.htm

I'll see if I can enlist some help to get these missions done. Essy said she fixed my problem. It's a stretch, but I should be able to finish STL on May 3rd. Great job with the picture!

Very sad. Did not know of the man, but any death is sad. I've had lots in my family. Prayers go out to his family. RIP.

On topic, the binary pic is the origami picture of the guy who posted the topic saying that Dave passed away. Maybe he was in charge of this arg?

I can't do the GPS Mission in Toronto. My laptop won't make waymarks, and I don't even know what those are. Sad
