Forgive me, I haven't been in here since Durga was in full effect and Melissa was in pieces. Is there a quick catch-up post somewhere? All I know is that a shipwrecked AI started following me this afternoon...

Okay, found it, reading...

Seek? Behold? IIRC, isn't this some of "the whole of the law?"

If there's still any doubt this is ILB/Halo related, these oughta clear that up. It also seems to set this thing after the events of ILB, since this AI knows about "the legendary Melissa." That makes it seem unlikely this is tied to Halo Wars, since that game is set several decades before the Halo trilogy.

This tweet seemed mysterious to me.
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Note#SWP02:/SYS/9182-3HD9-8123-CT99 stored at primary network tentacle. NTID '@ChaosRob' flagged for followup

Is that a code? And what does NTID mean?
I tried several additions to the url http://thewaytheirworldended.com to find a cute 404 page that reads
Quote:
NOTHING REMAINS HERE BUT DUST, AND ASHES.

STRANGELY, FOUR HUNDRED AND FOUR IS STILL WRITTEN CLEARLY IN THE SAND.

And then I hit on pay dirt.

http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/9182-3HD9-8123-CT99/
It's hard for me to read, so I'll leave it to others to transcribe.

So I'm guessing when the log says ">>Sys:Log//Shipwreck research revealed significant finding - Melissa was not the first" that it's referring to Cortana.

There was also an earlier tweet that reads...
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Initial research proved fruitful. Note:SYS/189H-AO8U-J92A-OP04 stored.

Wow! Take a look. http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/189H-AO8U-J92A-OP04/
That's just great!

Were there any other tweets with SYS/ some code?

Nice work driz! The first is pointing out interesting bits of the Cortana Letters and the second was obviously from ILB. I don't think there were any other SYS codes tweeted besides those two so far.

Wow, really nice find! Maybe they'll throw a couple more bones to us, but the time to active countdown leaves just a few days - I'm excited!

I guess I'll need to make a Twitter account now. I guess I'll follow this and see where it leads.

Slightly off topic, the music on the front page of http://thewaytheirworldended.com/ is hauntingly pretty.

I'll try for some more constructive observations when I'm not shaking off the Monday grogginess at work.

I have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed with this when I got the initial twitter follow requests, but this is growing on me -- especially the Developer's Blog post, "don't be a twit."

New tweet leads to a bit of a site redesign and another log.

So I figured I'd poke this thing while it was 'Active'. I began by sending a direct twitter asking if 'remote assistance' was required, to which I received the reply:

@Intimation wrote:
Are you crew?

Unfortunately I wasn't involved in ILB, so I couldn't really say I was...in reply, I gave it some hogwash about being crew in spirit or some other lame thing. In reply:

@Intimation wrote:
Actual Interaction with Melissa's crew is invaluable for my research. What was your designation in her crew?

And that's where I'm at now. A little bit too much roleplaying required for me, but figured I'd share if anyone else wants to jump in.
