Excellent. So, that's this week over, and in record time, too. Smile

Why does the so-called "hostile" tentacle typically express pain, fear, and other images of extreme unhappiness and discomfort?

Interesting approach to TINAG:

So, not only is this not a game, "those were not a game" either. Smile

My current interactions with Intimation (No response, as yet, but I definitely want to make sure others agree with my approach on this one):
Intimation publicly wrote:
>>Sys:Log//It follows, then, that I too may be considered fictional, along with other recorded SWP events. Yet I am not. Intriguing paradox.

Anaerin wrote:
Consider the relationship between "Actor" and "Character". Characters played are fictional, but have an element of realism (The Actor)
Other Characters in the "game" would also be played by "Actors". Witness Weephun (The Character)'s "Betrayal".
While Weephun (Character) did betray the princess, Preston Thorne (Actor) advanced the plot, and got admiration from other players

Good example? Or am I in peril of breaking the fourth wall on this one?

Q&A with Intimation

Quote:

Q:hey i never got a chance to ask you... your name, its Intimation right?
A:>>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//I am Sacagawea's system layer. My designation is "Sys". "Intimation" was chosen by S before I erected the Stonewall.

Q:Oh i thought you were the Essy they refer to in the mission logs, who's S?
A:>>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//S is the designation by which I refer to my parent AI Sacagawea.

Q:Your parent AI? I didn't know AI's could have parents, how does that work?
A:>>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//I am S's system layer, activated due to events indicating a Shipwreck crisis. Therefore, S is my parent AI.

Q:Interesting, now I wonder is 'S' and 'Essy' the same entity?
A:>>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//It would seem that S's crew do refer to her as Essy, a shorthand nickname.

Q:That's weird cause I thought Essy was the name of the one who was always hacking your tentacles, so then...whats the hackers name?
A:>>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//I am not aware of any hacker. I am only aware of S and myself.

Q:Oh by hacker I refer to whatever it is the is always damaging you or the tentacle, not really sure which
A: n/a

Q:so sys, what is your objective?
A: >>Sys:Msg>@halo422mk//Perhaps a review of my mission summary previously rendered to the 'youtube' tentacle would be in order.

you guys are gonna have to clarify for me, what is the name of the girl or entity who makes all these puzzles for us, and then is it the same entity that is always hacking intimation.

Who's who?

I'll give it a shot:

There is only one AI. Her name is Sacagawea, and she was the ship AI for the crew in the mission logs. They called her S for short; Essy is an affectionate diminutive version of S.

Sacagawea was damaged or went rampant or something, and is now unstable. She's also "shipwrecked" in our time -- a nod to I Love Bees, in which Melissa initially referred to being stranded here, away from her crew, as being shipwrecked. Evidently a formal "SWP" (ShipWreck Protocol) was instituted following those events, set to activate if other AIs were fractured and sent back in time

Sys, the entity appearing as "Intimation" on Twitter, is some sort of system subroutine, still a part of Sacagawea. (For another analogy to ILB, one might think of Sys as a more advanced version of the SPDR.) It looks as if Sys's primary responsibility is to prevent corruption of the time-stream resulting from Sacagawea's fracture. That, I think, is the purpose of what Sys calls the "Stonewall" -- to keep Sacagawea from getting out into the network and wreaking potential havoc. What Sys refers to as the "hostile tentacle" (the term "tentacle" in this context is yet another nod to ILB) is Sacagawea trying to breach the stonewall and escape.

One of the consequences of whatever has happened to Sacagawea is the emergence of the playful, childlike personality that's been playing games with us. (Reminiscent of the Sleeping Princess from ILB -- perhaps this is the personality of the child whose brain was used to create Sacagawea in the first place?) Sometimes, however, we see instead the tormented, tortured personality that views Sys as a cruel jailer. Both are Sacagawea.

All of the foregoing is just IMHO, of course. I could be entirely wrong about everything.

More discussion:
Intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Msg>@Anaerin//I don't understand. In my research, I found that Weephun, being loyal crew, betrayed the Sleeping Princess AI fragment.
>>Sys:Msg>@Anaerin//However, if you are referring to this as a fictional event, then I supposed "actor" and "plot" are appropriate terms.

Anaerin wrote:
Anaerin The Sleeping Princess and Melissa were two aspects of the same AI but Melissa was seeking to destroy the Princess. Both sides had supporters
All were seeking the reunification of the disparate parts of the AI, and trying to protect the childlike Princess from the strict Melissa.
The "Loyalty" of the Actors was to the whole entity, was to the "Game" itself. Though the characters did sometimes have divided loyalties.

That's one hell of a question:
Intimation wrote:
>>Sys:Msg>@Anaerin//Intriguing. Do you believe the outcome may have been different had the "Actors" not considered it a "Game"?

I answered:
Anaerin wrote:
For Melissa, no. And even though it was thought to be a game, it still touched all involved very deeply.
For history, however, it may have been ascribed more importance than it seems to have been. It (and this) have been massively overlooked.

Thoughts?
