major clue...

been speaking to dirk the guy I saved on the rooftop
---

Hi Paul,

Thank you for saving me the other night. How did they find me up on the rooftop? I am not in hiding, as long as I stay out of their way, I should be safe.

Have you worked out the puzzle of the sundials? It's a fun one - they liken it to walking the 'Roman' way - from one sundial to the next, picking up information from Latin inscriptions, and using them to unlock parts of the website. The last person to do that particular path was Daniel Cooper - poor guy, didn't know what hit him. I mean, you'll find all this out sooner or later, so no secrets - I am not telling you stuff you wont know sooner or later!

Will call you later,

Dirk

Just had a message from Crescent regarding the passwords and sundials.

He's had a futher conversation with the guy he saved, who indicates the passwords are not given out until after the initiation - CPA don't trust people enough before that point. It also sounds like he's left London, as he says if you want to follow him you'll have to go around the coast. (Dirk, not Crescent!)

The other thing he revealed is that logons and/or passwords are revealed on the sundial. It seems you take characters from the dials and make an anagram of them and this will help give access. There's something fun to work on!

Also, he's been advised never to trust Droogie, at least not until he's got to Thea.

Three cheers for Crescent, as he's bravely heading off alone again to today's meet. Let's hope it's a nicer time than Friday!

Alas, employment prevents my heading out to at least accompany him.

Crescent met up with John, safely, and passed the info on. John, it seemed, didn't say too much about what was presented to him, but did reveal his email address to be John.franksSPLATmetpoliceforce.com - I think that's what Crescent said!

John wanted to know if all of CPA were dodgy, or if it was just some members taking things too far. That is a difficult one!

He's now off to check out the sundials to see if there's any extra writing or characters that we've missed....

back in house only in order to find

another email from dirk:
---
Nice to chat to you. You'd better get your friend firmed up for something big... I hear there's another action. Watch out.

How did your chat with the cop go?

Dirk
---
Both Dagada and I agree, he's very calm for someone who's had his life threatened - either 3 years hs toughened him up or...

Also - if he's staying well away from it, how come he keeps hearing stuff...

Something to watch out for on this one, but he also agrees police should get involved.

Seems that they did though, following cctv footage on twitter and at dance radio...

Will post in a minute the general conversation on phone with Dirk - but was good to talk to John, though he was looking for someone to blame quite a lot. Hope the info was helpful...

I'm concerned about what Dirk is trying to do. He seems to be encouraging us down Daniel's path (just like someone encouraged Veronica to do) while admitting that what you find at the end can kill you if you're not prepared. But at the same time, he describes it as fun!

What are his motives? And could it be that he encouraged Daniel down this path?

Apols guys

sorry - away from my notes. Will edit this later [tomorrow] but for now, apart from previous regarding the encouragement to get these guys shut down:

"Droogie is bad - he'll have you"

"Paris is developing something, I've seen the plans - but don't have access to them so can't show them - " wants us to know about Paris but unsure why...

"They've got money man - they go deep, really deep - the parties and everything - yeah they're fun, buit the money has to come from somewhere..."

I think thats generally it - any more and I'll update this post.

all gone wrong...

john's missing and Veronica's messed up:

two emails received this morning:
v:
---
Have you been talking to the police? I have just been released, after spending all night answering questions about Stephanie, John and this weird Clamamus group. I was locked up for 12 hours.

John is missing, I'm accused of obstructing a police inquiry, accessory to pervert the course of justice.

I've answering questions about Daniel, Stephanie, kidnapping, assault, and every other crime under the sun!

They showed me a picture of John smashing up UK Dance Radio. I am switching off, can't trust anyone anymore, I am done and want to run away, but I have to report back at the police station tomorrow morning, and must notify them if John gets in touch with me.

This is a colossal mess.

Veronica
----

and in response to my email earlier, Annabelle Becks:
----

Dear Paul,

we are following up leads as to John's whereabouts, but can't find him. I
do not think you have anything to be concerned about. John is not a
dangerous man, I have worked with him for more than 20 years.

What was on the memory stick that you gave him? Could this have led to an
incident at the radio station? Has he been in touch with you, and how?
John does not use electronic media as such, so I can only assume you have
telephone or personal contact with him. We need to find him before he does
something really silly.

He is a friend as well as a colleague, and I have his best interest at
heart - please help us find him.

If our office phone isn't answered, kindly leave a message, we are
monitoring calls, but this is an emergency, and is being handled with
utmost urgency.

We may need to interview you, so kindly do not leave town.

Thank you

Annabelle Becks

I'm not worried about Jon coming after me. But if he's disappeared, it may be that the CPA group now know I've betrayed them.
As discussed with people, they do no deal well with traitors.
Veronica Cooper knows nothing apart from what she has been given. She's no involved in this mess apart from her needing someone to help out. She keep quiet as John was told not to go to the police about his daughter and he needed someone to confide in.
You have the password from previous email.
I hope I can trust in you. Nothing to lose now really though... If John didn't ask you for the password then he's gone rogue and has probably turned his back on law enforcement.

What did I tell John? Everything's on the stick. I'm tired of explaining it time and time again - I will of course be interviewed if necessary, but if any of my family are brought into this, by the police or CPA, understand I will hold you personally responsible.

Paul

deeper and deeper?

just had this from dirk - seems like he CAN trust me after all...

Hey Paul,

Sorry for the rush off on the phone. I was in a sensitive space and needed to get a 'move on'. Dirk is my alias, had it since I was a kid, the Degville comes from a porn film or something, anyhow I am safe! In a place where the crazies can't touch me.

Cop went mad? That's a new one, always thought you needed to be mad to join those lunatics.

Using anything linked to me will get you into trouble, besides my directory is probably deleted by now. For what it's worth try (X921). As for the sundial key : if you went to Southwark, Brick Lane and Kings Cross, it will be an anagram of the 6th and 9th letter from the first line of each inscription, and the same for the group - m, p. The password changes, but that was the last key - set before Daniel died, and he was involved in the site build.

I'm out of the viewfinder and will remain - away! Thanks for checking in wid me, I promise to do the same when settled. Wink

Bye my friend, email access is sporadic here, and I hate sweaty Internet Cafe's.

Bye

PB - I will alway be a Dirk

---

can someone make sense of this?
Quote:

Southwark: En supra vita fugax
Brick Lane: UMBRA SUMUS:
Kings Cross: Tempus edax rerum
the same for the group - m, p.

so letters are:

R I S U S A M P

Anyone know of where the 6th and 9th letter clue was?
Anagram time - we're probably looking for something latin...

extra note:
x921 was on the list we received on memory stick:

Quote:
M Schiffner 15 X921 Caretaker Sydney

where IS Dirk...?
and just to make you smile, I think this is the degville dirk was talking about;

TRYING THINGS OUT

ok, so using X921 [without brackets- better not be with them...grrr...]
I used RI / SU / SA / MP
as pairs and did the 24 COMBINATIONS of these 4 pairs, in CAPS.

Nothing.

So - either:
X921 is not correct/able to be used anymore
password is not in caps
password is not in strict pairings [with 8! combinations -24 now... nice...]
all of above...

also - been thinking - as we don't know what the 'key' is [if, indeed, it still is 6th an 9th letters] perhaps the clavis file [which had IR ? BE the ? being a block] was a clue which could be used?

help welcome peoples... getting tired of this codecracking now

My People!

It is time to meet us in person - away from the bodysuits, dark rooms and
in a social context.

This is the stage before you are initiated into the group, so come with a
smile - you are one of us, having passed the test, trials and
tribulations.

A 'bit of a show' is promised.

8pm at The Foundry, I'll have a 'top hat' on.

Got it!

This HAS to be the password:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
suspirma - it means to sigh or breath deeply

Now we just need to work out how to use it!
