[TRAILHEAD?] Weird eBay auction Got there from a Google ad link on ARG Netcast site I dunno if this is a trailhead or a crazy person or what it is, but I found this link from an ad placed on the ARG Netcast web site through the Google AdSense service. The description of the item is strange to say the least. Maybe it's someone having a laugh, or maybe it's the writing of a lunatic, but it might just be a trailhead of sorts, so I figure I'll post it here and let you guys sort it out.

You are bidding on a Russell Athletic Grey Hooded Sweatshirt. Size: Medium. Made in El Salvador. Material: 55% Polyester 45% Cotton Condition: Used/Worn. Hoodie is many years old. There are stains on the front. There is no hood string. Zipper is in excellent condition. This hoodie is very warm. I have worn it under jackets through many New York winters. I wore this hoodie on my 30th birthday. I was born on December 24th. When I tell people the date of my birth, their response is often something like this, "Oh, wow! You were born on Jesus' Birthday!!" No, my birthday is the 24th, I say, I was born before Jesus. No one ever laughs. The 25th of December is the day much of the world has agreed upon to recognize Jesus' birthday, yet unfailingly I receive the "Jesus' Birthday" response 75% of the time. Then there are those who's response is something akin to " Wow, that must really suck." These people would be correct. Indeed, it does "really suck" to have one's birthday on the 24th of December. The 24th of December is a uniquely unfortunate and depressing time to have one's birthday for obvious reasons. It is invariably cold in New York on the 24th; Most of the Christian world is celebrating someone other than you and are with their family; if you decide to have a party earlier in the month to celebrate your untimely birth, your invitees will most certainly be at an office party or another friend's place who is throwing a better party. I say this not out of bitterness, but mere experience; and then there is the merging of gifts. One learns at an early age that consolidating Christmas and birthday gifts into one present is a scam. I learned this when I received a pair of white pro wings as a combined Christmas/birthday gift while watching my brother sit next to the Christmas tree playing with his new three foot tall AT-AT Walker straight out of the Battle of Hoth. That was my sixth birthday. My thirtieth birthday found me six inches from a television screen, nostrils covered in cocaine, frantically copying down the number for an escort service. I was wearing this hoodie. But I get ahead of myself... (I will post more of the description later. Check back. I have to go to work now. thanks, Lint) -----------------------------

Here is my response...
Quote:
Dear teh_lisa,
thanks teh_lisa, why hasn't anyone else asked me this? Good to know someone is reading and cares...i have in the past either included an entire description or withheld part of it for the winning bidder. This one unfortunately, turns out to be a case of too little time to construct what turned out to be a more immense piece than previously expected. However, I do ensure that at some point the winning bidder will receive a more thorough description of the hoodie.
as for why i would get rid of it, well, that's a very good question and i am not sure if i fully understand except that it was a difficult time in my life and i am letting things go literally and figuratively. thanks for contacting me, best, Lint
As for the
- lintnpkt
I asked him about saying he would give more information but the auction ends so soon how would he. I also asked why he is getting rid of it.

Why are you selling something that seems so sentimental to you? I am interested to know more of the story, though. My birthday is three days after Christmas. I never try to have parties for it anymore.
This is my response:
Quote:
first, coincidentally, simone is the moniker i give to my ex, who plays a significant role in the history of this hoodie and is mentioned in the rest of the description that is not attached(nor finished) In reference to your question, I'm not exactly sure myself except for the very simple explanation that it was a tumultous time in my life and i am literally and figuratively letting stuff go. that might be pretty much it. it's time for a new hoodie!
i'm sorry that you have to identify with it but that phrase " I never try to have parties for it anymore." is making me laugh. god, i get it...
best,Lint
Most Ebay sellers take a very long time to respond to messages. Perhaps this one happens to be watching this thread? But according to his response to teh_lisa, only the winning bidder will get the whole story...

Uh... what makes anyone think this is some sort of trailhead?
And I'm currently wearing the same thing... cost me less than nine bucks at Wal-Mart.

It seems he will have another auction:
Quote:
indeed, cathartic. gonna check out this site...
delighted to hear we have similar interests...
keep an eye out for my next listing and feel free to contact me about anything else you find out there especially if it has to do with burning things. Lint
The first two lines have to do with Dia de los muertos and cocaine and hookers

if it's not, it's at the very least interesting. he's put up one thing a month dealing with said month in his life from the looks of it... i added him to my buyer list just to see what pops up next month
