14=N
23=W

They're coords.

35463420 N
78381484 W

I just can't figure the rest out.

reedit: 35.463420 N, -78.381484‎ W puts him near Smithfield NC.

edit 2: Google maps changed it for me from
35.463420, -78.381484‎
to
+35° 27' 48.31", -78° 22' 53.34"

How did you convert the numbers into those coordinates?

Google does it automatically when you enter in decimal coordinates.

didn't feel like having a book of edits tonight, so I'll post this by itself. Who? responded to my question on "p" with "The warning is within the song, not the singers". So i responed back that is was not the singers that i was referring to. So does anyone know about moonshadows in Werewolf or Vampire? I found reference to them, but it seems fairly new?

Lyrics:

chorus:
Oh, Im bein followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin and hoppin on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow

And if I ever lose my hands, lose my plough, lose my land,
Oh if I ever lose my hands, oh if.... I wont have to work no more.
And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry,
Yes if I ever lose my eyes, oh if.... I wont have to cry no more.

And if I ever lose my legs, I wont moan, and I wont beg,
Yes if I ever lose my legs, oh if.... I wont have to walk no more.
And if I ever lose my mouth, all my teeth, north and south,
Yes if I ever lose my mouth, oh if.... I wont have to talk...

Did it take long to find me? I asked the faithful light.
Did it take long to find me? and are you gonna stay the night?

Finally... I can't believe I didn't consider counting the word and the letter together. AAAHHH!!

Anyway, the password is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
science

And the decoded text says:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Our group has failed to secure Jonah - somehow, he managed to escape the Sabbat without being detected. We covered the sewers and the basements. Unless he somehow learned to obfuscate, he must have fled in daylight. If he can do that, he\'s more powerful than we could have imagined - and he will bring about the end with the help of the Tzimisce, Caine preserve us.

All of the Camarilla need to destroy Jonah, sacrifice him for the good of the Kindred. For some reason, the Nosferatu have been silent on providing information on his whereabouts. There are even rumors they\'ve acquired outside help.

Yours,
Devereux

I have to get to work, so can't really spend time thinking about this till later. Hope it helps!

Nice freakin job all! Now we can move on!

That email just gave a ton of info as well. So according to the little VTM canon I know, Gehenna usually is meant as one of the old/original/3rd generation vamps - get up from their nap and do a little "culling of the herd" as it were.

Gehenna has been a long running rumor/fear with the vamps obviously- which would explain why the Camarilla want to destroy him. So the question is - why do the Nosferatu want assist him? They would be at much as risk as any of them.

With the email from Shrecknet to petunia, I'm beginning to think that there is more than one person/group using it. The tone, suggestions, and accusations seem to vary quite a bit.

I'm gonna drop an email to Shrecknet asking what their interest in all this is - see if I can get a name.

Gehenna was so much fun for me! Smile

Anyways, just so you folks know: There were several scenarios that were provided to the player for the "end of the world" which of course themselves were mere suggestions. Every storyteller was left to their own devices to end their respective games in a manner that was enjoyable by all.

To answer some questions about canon: The Sabbat were basically followers of Caine. They wanted Caine to come because they genuinely believed that Caine, disgusted with the elders of the Camarilla and with the Masquerade that was impressed upon all neonates, would restore the natural order according to them which was with the vampires being the gods of humanity. That's the way it was after all if you are to believe the Book of Nod.

The Camarilla however had a different take: The two-fold approach of that sect had the neonates being told that stories about Caine are nothing but hogwash while the elders that seem to know something kept their thoughts to themselves. The Ventrue were the only ones that openly traced their lineage all the way back to the original creators while everyone else was quick to ridicule stories of Caine coming back as the boogeyman elders used to keep the neonates in check.

Now, let me explain how the Clans worked. The Clans, by design, belonged to a sect (Camarilla or Sabbat). Oh, and I should mention that there were THREE sects. Everyone tends to forget the Anarchs which in the end had significant role (read the old novels if you can get your hands on them, Jan is an amazing writer and funny as hell too!). So for example if you were a Nos, you would most likely be a Camarilla loyalist. If you deflected to the Sabbat you would be considered Nosferatu Antitribu, and of course Anarchs were just Anarchs. On the other hand, if you were Tzimisce (Vykos was simply a peach, wasn't she/he?) you most likely were Sabbat.

Of course, this is WW canon. The PM is weaving a rather interesting story and could very well not follow this rule. But, as simply as I can put it, this is how the old World of Darkness used to work. Of course, I would encourage all of you to read some of the old books. You can find them really really cheap now at your local gaming and hobby stores.

If there are any questions please let me know. Cheers. Smile

Actually - now that you mention it, I do have a few questions Very Happy
The first one is more for my own curiosity, I doubt it relates to the situation at hand much, but on the blog post 9
- it mentions the outfits the Society was wearing. That's Templar wear. Are the Society and the Templars somehow connected in VTM canon? I've been trying to draw a connection somehow to Heidelberg castle, and that's about as close as I can get so far.

My second question, relates to Gehenna. I just finished playing Bloodlines, and of course throughout this so far Gehenna has been mentioned, but I've never actually been able to find anything that would be considered "signs of the times" - aside perhaps from the awakening of a(n) Antideluvian. The latest blog post mentions we need to look for new signs..? Are there any "common" signs known to point to Gehenna?

I'm sure we'll have more - but it's pretty damn awesome we have someone that worked on/with VTM as a reference guide. Thanks!

One of the signs of Gehenna is the flood of Thin Bloods, which the game (and Beckett) focuses on.

The Society of Leopold was never supposed to belong to one specific group in history like the Templars but it was supposed to embody all the organizations throughout history that stood for the hunting and extinction of supernaturals. Now when Hunter first came out (I have my personal thoughts about the release of that line but that's OT) there was a specific difference that was made obvious. Not all hunters had a religious convinction like the SoL. For that reason, the Templar references were made to illustrate the differences.

Our first sign was pretty low-key. A figure, clad in white, walking at the bottom of the ocean. The Ravnos protagonist started obeying a master only he could hear. The Malkavian network started to collapse.

Later there were much more obvious signs. The Caitiff rose to such numbers that the Camarilla was forced to recognize them and stop treating them as outcasts (imagine the irony). The Ventrue curse was that eventually the blue-bloods were only able to feed off other Ventrue only. The Tremere all grew a third eye betraying their true nature.

The final acts were shocking to everyone involved. A holy man that was able to ash vampires with his touch. The complete fall of the Masquerade. And the Antediluvians rose to walk amongst their childer.

That's kinda the point where the end game was left to the individual storyteller. While WW was moving on to a new line and no longer sanctioning the old materials, leaving it to the local ST's was a way to perhaps keep some of the old stories alive.

Frankly, I am really happy to see people still involved with VtM.

EDIT: I feel like I should again point out that while this is the story we told, this might not be the story this PM is telling. I am happy to help but please in no way take my comments as what is really going on with this storyline. We had to tell specifics to guide the players down the path to Gehenna to end an entire line of books. The PM, in this case, can have something entirely different in store for us. I have no idea where this is going, which is part of the fun! Smile
