Heh, I spoke too soon, my solution was backwards. The second letter is actually the one that designates which place in the solution a word goes, and the first letter is which word in the message goes there. Here's the correct solution:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Doctor Netchurch sees multiple possibility planes. This is only one of the possible outcomes, but this is not supposed to happen.

Makes way more sense now.

I hope Sara doesn't notice my little mistake... Guess I got a little too excited last time. Rolling Eyes

Very nice catch, and I agree - it makes a lot more sense now, but...

Am I just mis-remembering something - or does that solution you
found sound really familiar? I swear I've heard something almost identical to it prior to this. Which code was it you solved jslice? The most recent? I'll have to read through from the start of this new universe to see if I can find it.

This was the code from 7 that Sara just called us weak for not being able to solve. ^^

Ok - I thought as much, just thought I'd make sure. Cuz damn - the answer sounds really really familiar.

@yochanan - have you heard it before?

I'm gonna have to search through emails, and chat transcripts too.

I really think the original coded message from d is related, if not the same cipher that was used. The solution yochanan found to it on page 9 was:

Change each letter to a number, and concatenate the pair. That number is the ascii code for each letter in the message. It spells out Warning:you are in danger.

Edited to remove embarrassment Laughing

I believe we lost Petunia, TRoDS, and a few others unfortunately. The PM's confirmed awhile back that they "had nothing to do" with Petunia's disappearance, meaning she's not behind the curtain with them. I think they just chose to move onto other things.. Sad

Wulf, that's the puzzle that jslice solved. I'm going to post the solution, because it doesn't seem like there is any motion on it...

@wulf - u know, I wasn't sure about petunia. I remember seeing "the flower" in the earlier posts, so I wasn't sure if she was now a part of the game. Too bad though. Reading through here, she seemed to have a pretty good handle on this.

@yochanan - thanks for the earlier explanation about the cryptogram. With ur help it was possible for me to understand beckett 1 & 2. Thanks Very Happy
Oh & by the way, did u ever get an answer about Jonathan being good or evil?

Well damn, where the hell have I been then? I thought we still had an unsolved code.

Huh.

I'll just go back to sitting quietly in the corner... Embarassed

I think right now the only thing we haven't really figure out (besides what the hell is going on in the story) is the poem thing from way back on b.

Other than what that means (if anything) I think we're pretty much caught up, waiting for more.

On an almost totally unrelated note, part of the reason I started getting involved was to get a code name cause I thought it was awesome. Now I have one, yay! Very Happy

Here is what I have for the cryptogram code, if anyone wants to see:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

A B C D E F G H
. .. ... x.. xx. xxx .xx ..x
I J K L M N O P
, ,, ,,, y,, yy, yyy ,yy ,,y
Q R S T U V W Y
; ;; ;;; z;; zz; zzz ;zz ;;z

The question I asked was:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
;zz ..x . z;; - , ;;; - z;; ..x xx. – z;; ;; zz; z;; ..x - . .. ,yy zz; z;; - ,, ,yy yyy . z;; ..x . yyy? .xx ,yy ,yy x.. - ,yy ;; - xx. zzz , y,,?

what is the truth about jonathan? good or evil?

The response from Sara says:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

x.. ,yy - ;;z ,yy zz; - . … z;; zz; . y,, y,, ;;y - . yyy z;; , … , ,,y . z;; xx. - . yyy - . yyy ;;; ;zz xx. ;; ?

Do you actually anticipate an answer?

I'll leave my response as an exercise to the reader Smile

EDIT
The sentences that follow Sara's response:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The sea's a lovely lady when you play in her, but if you play with her, she's a bitch. Don't ever play with the sea. You're lucky to be here. You're lucky to be alive.

Athol Fugard in Spalding Grey's Swimming to Cambodia

A boast? A threat? An invitation to tea?

@yochanan -
Definitely a lively discussion you had going with her! She seems to have picked a strange time to start participating however. We've known of her for quite awhile now (relatively speaking). We've asked numerous times for more information on her both thru the forums, and via email to Porter and Netchurch. Although the latter is less likely to be seen by her I suppose.

[speculation]
But why does she poke her head out now? Baiting us - almost daring us to pursue her. It's almost like she wants us to crack her codes - to figure out what she's doing.[spoiler](Please read this with a TINAG slant - obviously she wants us to figure it out.. Wink)

We need to find out what she's about. I think it's obvious she's got some revenge in mind, in order to avenge Jonah death. But I think there's a few questions we need answers to before we proceed - to ensure that we're helping the appropriate party here.
1) What did Jonah do/have/know that made him Jonathan's target?
2) If Sara is indeed behind this convergence of parallel realties, more important than HOW she is doing it - is why? What does she hope to accomplish by it?
3) What is Porter's role in this? Nosferatu typically take an indirect hand in influencing events. They prefer a (pardon the pun) puppet master role, as opposed to one in the spotlight. Porter is taking a pretty direct action in assisting us, even going so far as to contact Jonathan in the first reality. What is he hoping to accomplish?
3) Beckett is obviously beginning to play a more central role now - but from what I know of him, he's a historian. His main focus of investigation has been trying to determine the creation of Kindred, he doesn't buy into the Cain myth completely. He also is interested in the Thin Bloods, which if I remember correctly has been mentioned once very briefly so far. A Thin Blood, if I think, is someone who has been turned - but their blood is so "weak", that they essentially inherit all of the curses (thirst, sunlight, etc), but none of the blessings. Depending on the time-line in the Vampire universe, they are unable to sire more Kindred.
4) I'm not sure it's relevant, but what did Jonathan do to save Smiling Jack? Is it significant, or was Jack simply mentioned to tie the story to VtM a little more solidly in the beginning?

I had a few other thoughts, but got interrupted - so that train of thought has left the station.. Rolling Eyes
[/speculation]

I'm going to fire an emai/make a few posts on the forums to see if we can get any answers. But I think yochanan might have better luck with Sara, as you seemed to have developed at least some rapport with her Cool btw - thanks for putting those ciphers up - it's a huge help.

=edit=
added link for a description of Thin Bloods

Nathanhale = "the patriot" Nice! Wink My husband picked up on that quicker than I did.
I'm confused about mine though... I'm not really sure if "the sly one" is good or bad name? I guess as long as it's not "the annoying one" right? Embarassed

I think it's just a reference to the anonymity of your username. You're being sneaky by not giving away your "true" name. That's my 2¢ anyway.

I also threw out some emails at Schrecknet, but haven't heard back for a few days...

So in conclusion, nothing new going on here. Crying or Very sad

Congrats to both of you - for officially being recognized by a ruthless race, to whom you are nothing more than a hamburger (or with a good education, a fine, Kobe steak)! Twisted Evil Welcome to the club! lol

We have secret meetings every 17th Thursday, each New Moon on Monday, and every other leap year. Mostly we discuss things like, where to hide, what not to wear, and why we keep having these meetings...? Club dues are $300 each meeting, but on the 1yr anniversary of your becoming a member, you get one of those neato, rubber bracelets that proclaim for all to see that you support one thing or another, or some random yet meaningful statement.

Laughing

Seriously tho - we're glad to have you both aboard, you've been a huge help in the short time you've been following this.

And since this is all about Vampires, it reminded me of a song. The song was inspired by Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire" series. Great song, and conjures some great images of vampires. Moon Over Bourbon Street.

I fired off an email to Porter last night - asking some questions:
Quote:
1) In the other reality, at one point you pointed us in the direction of Heidelberg Castle in Germany, calling it "the birthplace of the lamb". Does this mean anything to you? Any idea why you might have mentioned this to us? Who is considered the lamb in Kindred lore?
2) Who was Jonah Swift (aside from Jonathan's grandson)? Was he someone of importance? Did he posses something Jonathan coveted? I'm looking for a motive as to why Jonathan would have killed him.
3) What do you know of Sara, aside from her being a Consort? A consort to whom?

There was more to the email, generally asking him to suspend his beliefs, and accept that Netchurch is correct - and got a response today, albeit a strange one Laughing
Quote:
AUTOMATED RESPONSE: Suckin' blood, feelin' good, looking at pics of you and wonderin' what you taste like...

Last time I got an automated response from Porter, the email somehow made it through to Jonathan....

Sorry for the double-post... again.
i-j is up.

Answer:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The castle was beautiful in its day
All the Kindred came to pay their respects
To the Grand Lady of whom all love
And fear
For there is no difference between emotions

It used a cipher we saw used towards the beginning of the story.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Website uses the Rijndael algorithm, and requires a password to decrypt it, one thing to remember with the password is 1 capital letter can/will change the answer; i.e. the difference between "netchurch" and "Netchurch".
Which happend to be the password, I tried it because in the first round the email address "RX@anon.mail.com" was associated with the doc.

==edit==
beckett 3 is up.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Before Jonah was sired,
He met a beautiful lady
This woman bore him a son

Sara saw Jonah from afar
And desired him
But she was growing older

She knew of a man
A beast
A statesman and a lord

Who shunned the day
Embraced the night
And consorted with dubious persons
