These are definitely greek letters, but there is something strange. The letter phi is represented two different ways, and the letter pi is also represented two ways (the omega with the line over it is actually a variant of pi). For that reason I wonder if the code has to do with the value of the characters.. maybe the unicode values, as in this table:

All of these are of the form U+03_ _ , where the 4 numbers are in hexadecimal format. Here are the last two digits of the letters in the code.

c4 c8 b4 – d5 c1 b3 d6 b6 – c1 c0 c1 b8 – bd c9 c6 d6 – b1 bf b3 c3 c4 bf c4 – bf b7 – b9 c5 b3

Not sure if I'm on the right track here or not...

They're on a college campus, so maybe it's time to go greek?

I'm looking at a cornell map right now, checking out all the fraternity buildings... maybe something will come up.

And btw jki, I got that email too, so don't feel like they're picking on you! If the codes were easy to solve, the game wouldn't be as much fun. Twisted Evil

Sorry, I guess I should have put this up earlier. This is what I used to translate the letters - Greek Symbols. It includes that funny symbol (the "w" with the line over it), so that's why I used it. Thanks for the link above. Hopefully, I'll have some time to play around with this today.
@jslice - No, I don't want them to be too easy... I just get a lil' frustrated because I kinda suck at this, but I'm learning! Or trying to at least... Wink

The campus map didn't reveal anything in particular, besides the fact that there are a lot of fraternities/sororities at Cornell. I'll be stubborn and proclaim that no matter what this turns out to be, it's gotta be inspired by the greek societies at the school.

When I "translated" the greek, I just typed it out in Symbol font and then changed it to a regular english font. I think it came out a little differently, but still didn't make sense.

Whether it's some kind of scramble code, or something to do with the unicode or ascii, or maybe it's just supposed to look like something else (the last two words look an awful lot like "on ivy")... Unless somebody comes up with another bright idea, I'll just wait and see if this "S" guy responds to my email. I wonder if it's Sara...

I also tried the cipher they've used in the past, but it almost looks like it's broken. Every time I put in a password, it returns a blank result. In the past, even with a wrong PW - it would still return some sort of result...
I'll try a few other things when I get the time today - work is calling.

I've tried almost every listing at www.thesaurus.com in reference to clock, but no matter what I use - it returns a blank. Can somone else give this a shot? Maybe it's just my machine.

I can't remember what it stands for off the top of my head. It's a cipher that takes the alphabet, and then can shift the letters up to 26 times - i.e.

I checked all 26 possible rotations, with no love.
