www.unforums.com won't resolve?

 		www.unforums.com won't resolve?
Oddball problem.
For some reason, for a while now I've been having a problem accessing the forums using the www.unforums.com URL.

The resultant page says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

The only way I can access the forums is by going direct to forums.unfiction.com

If someone could give me some ideas about how to fix this, I'd appreciate it. Wink

Actually, www.unforums.com should (and does for me) bring you to the forums - of course, all that will do is redirect you to the actual forums which are at forums.unfiction.com/forums/

www.forums.unfiction.com will just give you an error page.

A year or so ago I had this kind of problem,(though in that instance I couldn't get to the forums at all, even using the sub-domain) and it turned out that my IP address had been blocked because the number my ISP had assigned me at the time corresponded with a range of numbers logged during a hacking attempt on the forums.

I got in touch with Scarpegrosse back then, and she(?) got it resolved ASAP, so I wonder if my IP address has been blocked again for some reason? Might there be a way to check that, Kona?

FYI, I can get the URL to resolve using another computer on my LAN, so that is probably significant.

 		If you can get on the forums and post (which you obviously can) the issue is not at this end. It sounds like there is a small discrepancy in the DNS server(s) that you are using on that particular computer (you could look in the network config to see if the two machines are pulling DNS info from different places) ... those server(s) know how to resolve forums.unfiction.com but not unforums.com for some reason. At least, that's the case right now; these things do get updated, and maybe one day it'll just mysteriously start working.

 		Yeah, that makes sense. I figured that the trouble might not be with the forums, but I wanted someone to confirm it. Thanks xnbomb! I'll check those DNS settings and see what I can come up with.
