So Mr. Harriman sent you the journal. Perhaps you are supposed to update the wiki with the information that you have. I know Rachel feels that the Murcheson Journal is her birthright, but I don't think that she would be too interested in the Harriman journal.

The Murdocks appear very interested in the Harriman journal. Perhaps a deal can be made with them. If the Murdocks get hold of BOTH the Murcheson AND Harriman journals...

Murdocks have at least the first 8 pages of the Harriman Journal as that's what they had me forward on to Illinois.
And one of the "Johns" (Harriman, I presume) has the whole thing per the Harriman wiki)

I'm getting confused, also.
All of my gmail contact with any of the entities via chat or email want to roll up into a single contact entity.

We could use the wiki to fill-in our program a little, but since it's IG, we don't know who should see who on it.

As far as characters, we have: ("*" denotes an expedition member)

*Sir William Murcheson
Raul Murcheson (William's illigitimate? son)
Rachel Murcheson (William's daughter)
Rachel's sister

*Richard Harriman
John Harriman (Richard's younger brother)

John (JP) Murdock (Rachel's black-ops agent?)
Roger Murdock (son? of John Murdock)
other Son(s) of Murdock?

Other Expedition members:
*John "Tintin" Sturdevant (Journalist)
*Legerdemain (Chief Guide)
*Col. Edwards (Not introduced, yet or not part of this game)
*Dr. Jones (Not introduced, yet or not part of this game)
*Tahar Bindu (Sole? survivor of the expedition)
*Caraco (Guide/Sherpa)

Supporting roles:
At the port on departure;
Professor Tarragon
Professor Sanders-Hardiman
Professor Reedbuck
(John Harriman was there also).

Misc;
Charles S. Candler (London expedition Outfitter)
Police official in Ajembukan
Rumbaba Arumbaya (Farmer who found single page of Murcheson Journal)
"Ridgewell" (Local. Named for someone on the Carter Expedition. Found another page of the Murcheson Journal for June 15-16 [The stuff alreadu on the wiki] [My bad. The Harriman pages for June 15-16 are on the wiki.])
Dr. Kurt Lindermann (Professor of Linguistics working on decoding of the "runes".)
Papa Rastapopolous (Greek mountain climber who found Harriman's body and Journal)
Georges Remi (Received Journal from Rastapopolous on his death)

Who am I missing?

I've just been lurking this, and not very religiously, but I got the following email a couple hours ago...

Okay, I haven't really been following this thread so just ignore me if this has come up before. I got a message on Facebook from someone named Collin Enger. The title is d0wn_7h3_r4661t_h0L3 (no spoiler because it's obvious: down the rabbit hole), and all that was in the message was "murcheson.wordpress.com". The site is pretty much bare, with only one, highly uninformative entry. Since the site was so bare and I recieved the message a whopping 15 mins ago, I assumed this was a new ARG, so imagine my surprise to find there is already a six page thread about it! The guy's profile pic is a number 12 and the word "tone". Again, sorry if this has already been posted, but it just seemed so random that I wanted to see what was going on.

New email from JP Murdock.

Looks like we're doing some recruiting, now.

As the intended recipient likely knows how to handle this, I'm going to play along.

The Murcheson Guide

So, yeah... I've seen the riddle and have no idea what it alludes to.
But playing around on the linked page (With several hidden links, many of which don't work. But don't worry, I'll get to that.)
Entering the password, "!4UAlone" takes you to http://mysite.verizon.net/vzer3sd8/!4UAlone.html

[Transmission from Agent 87 as follows]
06 01 09
I've been able to penetrate the group by pretending I am one of them. I didn't have much luck trying to buy the journal, I'm coming up with nothing, just obfuscation after obfuscation. This is a hard nut to crack. But I did learn something, [garbled] journal that Harriman [garbled].

It took me all of 30 seconds to find the passwords, which I entered and came up with a big fat zero, I suspect he made it easy on purpose to suck us in. I asked again about the journal today through YahooIM and was directed to - http://jpmurdock.tripod.com/.

It's appears as if Raul doesn't want to sell it at all (or he simply doesn't have it). But wants us to be distracted by his journal offers while [garbled] is going on. I'll continue to play the 'lurker' role, and wait to see if anyone else figures out anything.

14 01 09
I'm leaving Djahar tomorrow for D.C. I will look into JP Murdock and Sons and their relationship with Raul M. I found out that they sent an original page of the journal to Jeff ___________ in the DC area. I recommend that the client contact that person immediately to claim her rights to it (and there's a paper trail of her doing it).

21 01 09
I have looked into JP Murdock and Sons. I recommend our client work with that firm, it's the only game in town, and we haven't the resources nor the contacts to do anything here in the U.S.

I don't have any more information about Raul, but he still has to go through a mediator. Perhaps he's already found one in JP Murdock and Sons, that would be ironic. I have a feeling that they guard their secrets well there, like the right hand hasn't a clue what the left hand is doing. I tried, unsuccessfully, to penetrate their firewall, I don't think I was detected.

I have also discovered that he does indeed have the Murcheson journal fragments, that resided in the Ministry of Djahar.

28 01 09
Now the U.S. government is involved, I don't know how deeply. But given all the chatter back and forth with Raul and Rachel, I think they know and could guess the rest! How should I proceed?
[End Transmission.]

That page has what appears to be a failing redirect to:
http://mysite.verizon.net/vzer3sd8/hot.html
Quote:
HQ/CINCPAC Transmission: Double Plus Secret
To: All agents in the field
From: HQ
Begin Transmission

26.January 2009
The Murcheson journal was discovered on a server in the Cayman Islands, put there by a person named "RMM". The account was traced (with great difficulty) back to Roger M. Murdock. Await further instructions until we try to establish communications with J.P. Murdock & Sons.

11.February 2009 J.P. Murdock & Sons are handling all of the details for now. We're convinced that JPM&S will represent our client's best interests in America. This will be the last communiqu for the time being. End Transmission Use standard encryption/decryption procedures.. ..

There's a hidden link on that page to:
http://harriman.wikispaces.com/file/detail/murcheson_journal.zip
Which is a password protected file that I didn't bother with as it looks like all of it's content is on the "links" page of the wiki.

So... I 'm kinda lost as I don't really understand who's doing what to who.

On the matter of rebuilding the Harriman Journal... It seems like JP is feeling a little lonely as well:
http://harriman.wikispaces.com/message/view/HarrimanJournal.p1/9134430

I did figure out that the initial password (which I found via other means) was available on the Bio page of the wiki.
