 		Jodie Foster video interrupted on Youtube
Hello. I was watching "Jodie Foster thanks "my beautiful Cydney" and comes out" on Youtube and it is interuputed by another video that cuts in and shows two guys and a girl. They say they are the only ones left alive and want to be found. They appear to be talking into a camcorder and the guy keep saying things that indicate they can't keep transmitting.
The JF video is from dorothysnarker1 and it was added on Dec. 20, 2007.
Is this part of some ARG GAME? Does anyone know? The viewers comments also take note of it and are confused, too.

Not sure what it's about.

Also for the record an ARG Game would be an Alternate Reality Game Game. That's double the game, and I would sure as heck play one of those.

Seems that she might have just uploaded the video to her channel. Perhaps the origin is somewhere else. There's a chance she made it herself, but judging by the content pre and post-"hack", I'm willing to bet that she might not be responsible. Who is, and in what context were/are it's intentions?

The noises they heard during the filming were interesting... I wonder how we'll hear more about this. Does the blog have any info?

Can we definitely link this YouTube account to the author of the Dorothy Surrenders blog? The video itself (i.e. the Jodie Foster footage) makes complete sense given the topic of that blog, and the timing's right, but I can't find any links from the blog to the youtube video.

Is there some way I'm not aware of to determine if a youtube account is registered to a particular email address?

dorothysnarker1's favorites might lead to something, but I can't see anything. There is a frustrating lack of information here, and I can't find any other references to this outside of this thread and the comments on the video itself.

EDIT: This seems more likely to be the real Ms Snarker.

 		The strange thing is this was posted in December (a user can't change the dates of when a video is posted in youtube, right?), so if this was an ARG, it would've happened some months back... (I would hope not because this seems interesting).

On the other hand, UF members are always on top of everything strange going on the web that might give us a fresh trailhead, and in all this months the video's been there and nobody here noticed it. Very strange indeed...

EDIT: more thoughts: Nim's Islanlad premiered in March on the US so December could be a good time to launch an ARG/experience for it, but even that, the video interruption seems to "dark" for the time of movie Nim's Island is (didn't see it myself, only the trailers).

 		Nope-Sorry. I know I did do the Arrowkeeper ARG for Jericho a little while back but I am not Dorothy Snarker. I agree it would be a neat twist though! I just happened on this video by accident and thought you guys would be interested.
BTW KLind--sorry about the "ARG game" redundancy--my typing hand stuttered. Smile

Well, not so much a deeper layer as a different pie altogether. I think someone just hijacked her identity to make for a plausible neutral youtube post that was then embedded with whatever this is. So I don't see any reason to connect Nim's Island or Jodie Foster to this message content -- it's just a vector for whatever viral/ARG this is.

OK, this is such a long shot, I can't even believe I'm posting this, but there's not much else to go on.

In one of dorothysnarker1's favorite videos, Mike Huckabee is complaining about people reading into his commercials too much for christian symbolism (this is the thing with the alleged subliminal cross on the bookshelf). He says something like "Next thing you know, people will be decoding messages in how I blink my eyes."

So, what if the girl in the clip blinks her eyes in a way that can be decoded? If you notice, she keeps her eyes wide open at first, but blinks in rapid succession around 0:35. If it's Morse Code, it might be ... .. ..-., which equals SIF.

It's pretty hard to make out, though, and probably nothing.

My guess at this point is that this is part of some well-known ARG that already ran and no one familiar with that ARG has noticed this yet. Still, the alternative idea that a trailhead has gone unnoticed for this long is intriguing.
