Since the posts by Texel and Caesar (dated november 10) there has been speculation about the group of hackers having stopped communicating through the means of posting pictures, so that would leave us with FIND THEM.

I have been thinking about what possible meaning this could have... if Caesar (and later Scratch) had the need to hide a message in his filenames, to who would this message be addressed and what could it mean to him/her? Having it reffer to heismissing/sheismissing isn't very logical, so what if 'THEM' is referring to hidden messages inside the 8 pictures we now have?

Maybe the fact that the message (FIND THEM) is now complete (?) means that the 8 pictures is also complete and as a whole ALSO point to a/some messages?

Not that I disgree with you but.. What if caesar decided to use that naming convention before he started posting any pictures, and it wasn't exactly meant to be a clue. scratch obviously knew what it was supposed to say, since he appears to have followed the naming convention rather convienently, that in itself makes me question if it was suppossed to have a purpose other then maybe a easter egg.. But, then again, scratch did post in a different directory then caesar, which would make spelling a word with multiple E's (that was the one he did right? memories a bit fuzzy) easier on caesar..

Then again, playing devils advocate, maybe the names weren't a rot-5 and just worked out as one ;)

But for the record I do agree with you, I have just been having a few what ifs bouncing in my head..

As for a meaning, maybe its the name of the 'project' that he's involving the hackers in. Operation FINDTHEM, or whomp hunt: FINDTHEM..

In fact, maybe its in reference to the whomps, maybe not the missing folks, that could be his side agenda. Its not like the hacker conversations have been talking about missing people.. Just anomolies.. *shrug*

Even though

Even though the file names of the pictures are no longer binary and we've assumed that "FINDTHEM" is the message of those files, maybe there is a new puzzle with the new file names. Or just a message from the PM's

encore
resolve

What do you think?

I think the "FIND THEM" message is just part of Caesar's overall scheme to get people (like us) digging and looking for his parents.

I think it's pretty freaking obvious by now that I've had ulterior motives in all of this. The goose chases from site to site - it felt like a game to you probably, some organized piece of brainwork to pass the time, but I was hoping for some real detective work. I wanted to see if maybe all of you could come up with some piece of evidence I had overlooked.

At first I thought the message was too "general" for that, but after seeing the BRUTUS and TO-NIGHT files, which clearly show how frantically Caesar's search for his parents has been, I think I agree with you...

The last addition to the series, "resolve.jpg" for the october 19 Paintover pics, is interesting too. As I mentioned in the October 19 thread, could the caption, "rewind", and the filename, "resolve" hint in the direction of the october 1 picture? Or was Caesar at the end of his binary series and did he just pick the best general filename possible?
