Sekrit Puppetmaster Tools Mission on PMOG

OK, so I killed two birds with one stone here. One, I like PMOG. Two, I took the opportunity to share some great tools I've found for the aspiring PM/Puzzlemeister.

You have to join PMOG and do the mission to see them, but hey, you know you want to.

Hats off for a well-executed mission. It was actually playable AND rewarding, placing it in a pile consisting of perhaps 0.5% all available missions on PMOG.

Bah. Saw this, thought "hm I'll look that up at work on lunch or something"

Then I found out that it requires firefox, which we don't have on the work computers. Bah.

I signed up for PMOG, ran a few missions, found the interface to be annoying and intrusive, then just turned the thing off. To be honest, I wasn't interested in all of the MMO gaming aspects, I just wanted to be told how much I was surfing in a given day, but it really doesn't give me those kinds of stats. It's a clever idea, for people who are into this sort of thing.

I never got any kind of sign-up confirmation. While I'd love to poke around in your toolbox, the getting it open is akin to a trip to the DMV, for me.
I wonder whether this has it's genesis (conscious, or not) in the recent rewards vs: penalties discussion.

Same here: gave my password and... nothing.

What is "PMOG" anyway?

They're still in Beta, and it really feels like it since the site was BoingBoinged recently. They're dealing with some server issues atm.

PMOG is a Passively Multiplayer Online Game, and it's really a cool concept as it truly uses the entire internet as a playerspace.

Plus, you get to leave mines on websites to blow up other players. Razz

You mean after installing the extension, you can get it to do anything?

Wow. Mine's still loading my very first action. That I clicked 10 minutes ago. Yeah, waiting until they sort this out.

I entered my email on the site (twice), installed the extension and waited for their email.
Since I haven't received it I just deleted the extension.
When it was running, It'd take me to a login area.

this is all well and good, but alot of newbies are on here looking for help and to make them try and figure out a whole new platform just to get some tips is mean. anything worth while in there anyways?
