I can hear the PMs now. "Hahaha, look at those crazy people. Whining that we aren't progressing the game. If only they could figure out the second diary entry they would know! Aaahahahaha."

Yeah, just a little overimagining there. Anyway, here is my method Reila, though I don't think it is leading anywhere.

On page 27, if you just look at the numbers, we have this grid:

2 0 2 2 9
2 6 1 5 5
4 0 0 1 3
8 2 6 0 0
4 6 5 9 0
_ _ _ _ _

The underscores are outlined in bold, so I figured we were supposed to gather some value for each one with the values above, so I added them up:

20 14 14 17 17

The I converted them to letters:

T N N Q Q

But applying a rot13 algorithm (rotate each letter 13 places) gives:

G A A D D

Rot13 is the most popularly used rotational cipher, which is the only reason I think this has any significance. It doesn't really sound like anything I've ever heard, I just thought that if someone was working on a music related solution, this might be helpful.

I also considered that the method for filling the underscores could be different, resulting in an actual word, haha. BONUS?

HUGE UPDATE

so I wrote to pretty much every in game character and out of game person involved with the project. I got a response from Jacob Bakkila who is listed as Texts on the Synydyne website. This is the response that I got

Thanks for your note.

You guys are missing something.

Rest assured that the best -- best by an almost incalculably large
margin -- is yet to come.

Please be patient; TIMM has a very, very long tail.

Cheers,
Jake

Well lets get crackin on what we're apparently missing. I'm gonna start trying to get my fellow goons over at Something Awful back in the mix because they've proven pretty handy in the past. Sorry I to the PM's that I had to step outta game to get something but I've been worried and losing hope

I'm glad you did this. I was worried that maybe there wasn't going to be anything else.

I sincerely hope the bolded was a typo on his part and not meant to read 'tail'. haha

Awesome. I've been pretty busy with school, but I'll definitely be involved again once we have more direction. I'm pumped that this hasn't died out.

"Long tail" is a popular economics theory see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long_Tail The tail refers to the section of a demand/sales graph that extends for a long time before hitting 0.

In popular usage it generally means the thing will go on for a long time, or has long legs.

I wonder if "You guys are missing something." means we're not seeing something infront of our noses, or if we're actually missing some vital clue they haven't released yet. I suspect the former.

Like the graph for A Long Walk?

I also was wondering if we ever used the "Simple and Direct" graph. I know we figured out that we could spell out Surely You Know What I'm Referring To, but did we ever figure out the numbers that it adds up to. When you spell everything out and then add up the numbers in the graph it comes out with 19, 0, 24, 13, and 26. I don't remember using those but I figured since there was underscores in that and also in the unsolved puzzle that they might relate

Possibly some writing or a drawing.

Writing or drawing on what, the postcard? I'm holding mine right now and I don't see jack. >_>

Promises, promises. Seems clear we're dealing with professionals who treat this as a hobby. C'mon--if it gets no further than uf it's fan fiction.

Bizarrely, the meaningless reference to milwaukee is where this arg has gotten the most traction. Want to do an indie arg? Stick close to home.

You ask me, the community's response to TIMM has been better than anything Synydyne has put out.

My first instinct from the "long tail" comment was also that it had to do with the long walk graph, but man, I'm so unsure how to use that.

If anyone is interested, the serial number of the missing dollar bill from the Central Park Meetup is B34786442H, and unfortunately http://thisismymilwaukee.com/B34786442H yields nothing.

Maybe Kato means the drawing of Cool Dog bottom right on the reverse of the postcard?

What I was talking about was probably just the scanner or something.

That gave me an idea...

I don't have access to Photoshop to do this right now, but could someone please try overlaying the "Long Walk" graph on top of the diary and see if it spells out anything?

I'm eyeballing it, and it doesn't look promising. It's a long shot, but maybe...

If not the "Long Walk" graph, maybe there is something else we can overlay over the pages that will reveal the important characters and hide the unimportant characters.

I'm thinking it might be something like "grille" encryption:
