Well, seeing as how the island disappeared in 1950, I doubt Google Earth will have any info on it.

Google Earth 5 has the function of historic photomaps (even from 1940es). I'll check out, whether they have it for that region.

Doh! Picasa instead of Panoramio. I figured that with the release of the fixed coordinates that it was something along those lines. Confused

Coordinate Reveal New Images

Finally, all the searching has paid off…we have found something.

MIR-12 member 77146 left this comment on the "What did she know & when" post this morning:

"If you type in the coordinates to google maps, then click "my maps" and turn on the picasa web albums option, there are 2 photos! One looks like Demichev, but I have no idea who the other guy is."

I have posted the two images 77146 found above. The first photo is indeed of a younger Demichev. I have received some information about the man in the second photo, but I won't post it until I am 100% certain that this information is correct. I will hopefully have confirmation in the next few days and I'll post more about him then.

Member 77146 also pointed out that the user who posted these photos used the username "12-X37279." This matches the format of the Russian government ID we already have, but I don't currently know its significance.

so it is a younger Demichev...maybe the other image in the founder of element 99?

I googled the date in the image of the old bald man. This is the first thing that came up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_atomic_bomb_project
but more specifically this...

The RDS-1 (Russian: РДС-1), also Joe-1, was the U.S.S.R.'s first nuclear weapon test, named in reference to Joseph Stalin. It was test-exploded on August 29, 1949, at Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan, U.S.S.R

I have been trying some of the key words from the articles as passwords at RNCSA...nothing so far

Has anyone tried reversing the given coordinates and seeing if they end up anywhere interesting?

And sidenote, may be helpful:
Having worked in high-security IT jobs before, I happen to know the "dirty" habits some people have with their passwords. We may have to look into who Demechev really is, find out anything personal about him before we can ascertain any password at all.

We may be jumping the gun too far in search of a password here.

well considering it's not Demichev's password we are looking for...I would say we need to figure out who the login belongs to so we can narrow down where to look for passwords

im probably on a useless tangent here but ive been trying to identify who the other login names could possibly be and stumbled across the photo badges for los alamos. they all have the same k-xx as demichevs k-12 badge. im currently trying to find if there is a picture of a k-12 and will update this post if i find anything.

on a side note looking at facebooks profile for natasha saw the quote by Ivan Panin which in full reads:
For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it.
For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it.
For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.

Ivan was noted for his studies in russian texts as well as the numeric code he found in the bible. could possibly be a link somewhere.

One final little update, new info on mir-12 but its in russian. Have at it translators.

Here comes translation of the data about Barisov.

Quote:
Name: Viktor Barisov
Employee Nr.: 12-X52462
Function: Adviser for experimental researches
Birthday; March 19th, 1898
Station: K-12

Notes:
Sept. 24, 1948. - After proving his loyality, Mr. Barisov was honored as leader of laboratory K-12

Nov. 31, 1949 - Even if till now the reseaches of Mr. Barisov are without results, he personally believes in the success after additional training of K-12 staff.

February 9, 1950 - Although more than 50 persones were died after researches leading by Mr. Barisov, this quantity is within the range of risk, declarated at the beginning of the trials E-99.

April 28, 1950 - Mr. Barisov died........................................

Mr. Barisov dedicated his life to the idea of Soviet domination and sacrificed himself for the sake of the successfull experiments with E-99. The human experiments are at the momment stopped, untill the decent replacement of Mr. Barisov will be found.

I'm just perpetually behind on this one. Razz I just finished translating the document myself, though your understanding of the language is obviously far better than mine kosmopol.

Great! But since your English is naturally much more better than mine, feel free to correct my translation Smile

Didn't knew, you understand Russian Smile

gah, just noticed a nub mistake on my part. k-12 obviously stands for katorga-12 and isnt a los alamos designation. at least i know alot about nuclear spies now.

anyway the new post asks about the connection between borisov and demichev. borisov died the year before before demichev was born so there would be no apparent physical link between the two. the obvious link im moving towards is demichev contined borisovs research on e-99 at katorga-12. anything else anyone else sees that could link them?

ive also been trying to track who is iog and oog on facebook. so far ive had several strike outs with a couple leads im reasonably sure are just players like me.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Since the PMs are trying to lead us away from Emily (I thought initially, she had a PW or a book of Yakovlev with PW, and mir12 twittered to me: "I don't think the code is written by Emily. I have a feeling that this user name belongs to someone Russian.")
