Some infos about Natasha from Flickr:

Quote:
My name is Natasha and I currently live in New Haven, Connecticut. I am Russian, but I moved to the U.S. three years ago to study art and political science.

Although my father was a scientist, he was very passionate about art. He would encourage my sister and I to explore our creativity, so naturally I inherited his passion. However, it wasn't until I was much older that I started creating my own pieces and decided to study art formally.

While I concentrate on painting, I have taken a few photography classes and really enjoy capturing the world through a lens.

I'm Female and Single.

Wikipedia for Singularity wrote:
Singularity's gameplay revolves around a device that is able to move a single object through the spectrum of time. It will be utilized both in classic FPS-style combat as a weapon and in Half-Life style puzzle solving. For instance, using the device on a human opponent will send them into a "placental" state where they revert to an almost ameobic state before dying. Examples of the device being used in puzzles involve sending a lock forward in time to watch it rust and crumble away, sending a broken bridge backwards to watch it return to a usable state, and sending a tree stump backwards while standing on it as it grows to reach higher areas.

The story revolves around an unnamed island where Russian experiments took place during the height of the Cold War era.

Man that's awesome! And it also has a PC version so I can actually play this one once it's finished. Unlike some other really cool ARG promotions... *coughResistance2cough*

Like mentioned, there's already a katorga12.com

And apparently, there's a Kokin hat?

EDIT: Apparently, Element 99 is Einsteinium.

Mir-12 is a soviet era rocket

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mir-12.jpg

Judging by the electric thing on the website logo, this probably has to do with that mythical soviet emp weapon. (what the goldeneye movie is based on)

This seems interesting. Not loving the excessive inconsistencies, but hey, not all things can be kept truthful without long research.

But, how do they expect to find a way to use Einsteinium when Einsteinium is plutonium irradiated with aluminum, and some other stuff (blah). And, pffft, Mir does not mean community, it means Peace and World in Russian.

Still, I'm in this to see where it goes Laughing

From the bolds:
Katya - too common of an eastern European name to research on its own
Chemical Weapons Convention - is an actual agreement about chemical weapons http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_Weapons_Convention
E99 / Element 99 - also a little too hard to research since it's real

So Vladimir Norvikov, Viktor Barisov, Commissar Kokin and Dmitri Kokin seem to be the most interesting things to do searches for. Fair to assume that Vladimir is (fairly obviously) related to Natasha. So what are we thinking? Father, brother, husband; likely dead if he's not saying anything about her dying? I'm also taking it that it's really "Commissar Dmitri Kokin"? Unless the Commissar is merely a relative of Dmitri. Guess time will tell.

Oh, and Hi Greg Very Happy

Perhaps "mir" in this meaning:
Quote:
Мир (устар.) — крестьянская община, волость (сохраняется в выражениях «по миру пустить» и т. п.).

http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D0%B8%D1%80

But you're right, the Russian contents are not so really authentic Smile
I mean, I've never heard a name "Norvikov", only "Novikov", and then, if it were "Natasha", she should be "No(r)vikova". Smile

And "Barisov" should be "Borisov", imho.

Well, let's look for further developments. At least the Russian from video was without accent Wink

Count me down for lurking...At least for the time being. I'll have to check out the PC version, the game sounds like it has promise.

OK, here are some clues I've got from the news video.

Is this security man our Commissar Dmitri Kokin? (Or Viktor Barisov?)

And look for the handout she had in her hand:

zoomed:

is this hammer and sickle, combined with nuclear sign?

Btw, on the floor is inscription, which is not complete showed in the video. But I think it's

Quote:
Национальная Комиссия по научному...

Translation wrote:
National Committee for Scientific...

Here are also some news ticker from the News

* Breaking News: Scientist Demichev survives - injured, taken to hospital.
* Russian officials refused to comment - press conference not resheduled
* Norvikov praised on group's website mir-12.com
* Norvikov shot twice - pronounced dead at th(e moment?)

So perhaps the GBNC-News studio got the problems after they showed the man, who shot Norvikova (see the screens above).

And one more idea:

at the youtube video description there is written

Quote:
Other uploads of this video have been taken down by the Russian government. Please help reveal the truth. More information is coming soon.

Does it mean, there are another videos somewhere online? Or shall we get updates on this account?

Update: look for accounts named alxnder12 on the net - the most are ARG related I suppose (since he updated this video also in another forums etc.)

Update2. Katorga means in Russian something like prison system, look also here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katorga

Update3. According this video she has a friend in Yale, her name is "Em"
http://www.flickr.com/photos/32425103@N03/3128868008/in/datetaken/

Update4. Look btw this video with footage analyse: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=cE2Rr-5FrVY (I remind on all these Cloverfield analyses). Anyway the user RaMsEs89 found some "fakes" in the video, which can be told not only "production mistakes", but perhaps "plot fake" (for example, Norvikova shot scientist, but there was too many smoke, so perhaps it was a fake cartrige - perhaps it wasn't her intention to kill him?)
