Careful observation of the podium where the scientist speaks shows a symbol. It appears to be the same two headed eagle used for the Russian federation.

But... look closely at its center. It contains the hammer and sickle instead of the saint killing the dragon.

To the left is a screen shot, to the right is a clear idea of what it supposed to be.




Now, i know that the Russian air force kept the red star as their logo after the end of the soviet union. And the russian army still uses soviet symbols when remembering the great patriotic war etc.

So is this some sort of alternate reality? unlikely.
The new govt. eradicated all soviet things from government logos (thus replacing them with the Tsarist eagle).

So i dont knwo what to make of it.

Update Two:
The Russian soldier is definitely wearing a Russian Uniform, not a Soviet Uniform.

Will probably be a while for her to add me. But i did a search of her friends. most of them seem like normal people. But i remembered that she is with her friend in Flickr. its not just EM, but Emily. The full name is on the tags.

now, back in facebook searching her friends we encounter a certain Emily Dawson. guess where from? New Haven, CT. right where natashas facebook is.

So i also added her just in case its not a big coincidence.

It's some company name with an address and phone number under it. Definitely says Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood, CA. So the bad guys don't seem to have any problems with borders.

OK, the video is cool and cloverfield-esque, but not without mistakes...
I mean, look at this table:

As you can see, it seems that the soviets found some sort of element in the island. I am guessing something like super uranium or something like that.
