 A new friend!

Hey guys! I'm really into this too... my first ARG and I'm hooked! Ha Ha!

I tried posting a reply last night re: the interview Rachel did with Chrom, and pretty much mirrored what you guys have said.
BUT, did anyone else notice a current vacancy on their website?
It's for a research lab assistant. Think its worth an application?

Befriended Matt on twitter, as well as all the others on facebook.

URGENT!!

Is there anyone who can get across to Cambridge University for 5pm? Have been emailing Rachel, and this is what she's had to say;

Quote:
Hi Tom

The lecture is called 'The Science of Love', apparently - it's a bit like one of the Christmas Lectures, but more fun, according to Matt. He's going because Duncan Woodburn from Prometha is speaking, and he wants to interview him.

I spoke to him, and he's been in touch with the guys he worked with at Routes. If you can make it down to Cambridge today, he thinks he might be able to swing you a press ticket. It's at Corpus Christi College, from 5pm -7pm.
http://www.corpus.cam.ac.uk/conferences/how-to-find-us

Matt says if you ask for him at the ticket desk, he'll be able to sort you out?

Would be awesome if someone could get over there! Unfortunately, as I'm from York it would mean waiting til 7 tomorrow morning for a train back, which doesn't sound appealing!

Update:

Rachel's just put up a new video, in which she mentions the name Simon McGarrigal..... Any significance, do we think?

I would've needed at least a day's notice to get to Cambridge, lol. Ah well. Let's hope if something exciting happened, that we'll hear about it!

Applying for the vacancies is definitely worth a shot; I tried asking for info about the jobs at Prometha but got nothing yet. I guess we'll see.

Ohhhh see that kind of action is exactly why I wish I'd been there! No-one sent me any tickets though. Sad

Looking at Facebook, it seems we've now got the answer for the police website case thing. I'm annoyed that I guessed the password right and just didn't realise I needed a different name. *sigh*

Having got into the page though, I can't get any of the photos to open... am I just being dense? Can anyone else get them open?

I've joined your facebook group too, Carmen. Smile

I've posted a note on Facebook; I've translated a couple of the files from the police site.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I've transcribed and translated (as best I can) a couple of the interrogation files. The witness statement of Paulina Estovas, and the interrogation of Tim Penfold.

Case: CLC0108-134 [sic]
Testimony: Paulina Estovo
Date: 26-1-09
Time: 3:35
Location: Interrogation room one

CB: Se encuentra usted mejor, senora Estoval?
PE: Fue un shock terrible.
CB: Entiendo
PE: Las diez pasadas, no habia bajado a desayunar. Crei que se sentia mal.
CB: Estuvo enfermo?
PE: No, no afligido.
Calmada.
PE: No, nadie. O al menos yo no vi a nadie.
CB: Y llamadas de telefono?
PE: No tuvo ninguna. Al menos no en su apartamento. Pero hizo una llamada, a Inglaterra. Tenemos un registro de llamadas internacionales. Mi marido os puede facilitar una copia.
CB: Gracias.

CB: Are you better, Mrs. Estoval?
EP: It was a terrible shock.
CB: I understand.
EP: In spite of every precaution that we took with the hotel, never before has this happened.
CB: I only have a couple of questions that are to do to with him.
EP: By all means, ask them.
CB: What time did you find the body of Dr. Schoenberg?
EP: Ten past one, he didn't come down to have breakfast. [can't do this sentence]
CB: He was ill?
EP: No, but there has been some illness around this way.
CB: Ah, the measles.
EP: When I called at his door was there was no answer, so I entered and [encontre] the floor so what. He was… horrible.
CB: It takes, [paneulo]. [think it's general genuflecting]
EP: Thanks, thanks.
CB: When was the last time you saw the Dr alive?
EP: Last night, it was in reception when he retired to his room at about 11:00, I think. I remember he wished me goodnight. Normal [Parechia].
CB: He wasn't heartbroken at all? Last night at some point in the day?
EP: No, nonheartbroken. The Dr. Schoenberg always parecio… worried, a little lost in his world, but not anything you could call 'heartbroken'.
CB: Did you see or hear something unusual during the night?
EP: No, nothing don't mention it. No shots, or [perleas]. It was a normal night. Calm. At least I thought it was, until…
CB: Only a couple of questions left, Mrs. Estoval. Had Dr. Schoenberg been visited during his stay in the hotel?
EP: No, nobody. Or I did not see anybody at least.
CB: And telephone calls?
EP: He did not have any. At least not in its apartment. But he made a call, to England. We have an international draft registration point. My husband can get you a copy.
CB: Thanks. Finally; did he tell Dr Schoenberg when thought tapeworm marched? [no idea on this sentence]
EP: No, not the exact day, but when registry in the hotel said that not [quedaria] but of one week. Her family must be destroyed.
CB: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
EP: No, I believe not.
CB: Please contacts us if you remember anything else.
EP: By all means. Can I go now?
CB: Of course. I will be in contact with you if I have any questions. Thanks for coming.

Case: #CLC0108-1314
Prisoner: #46922
Date: 5-2-09
Time: 3:50pm
Location: Interrogation room two

TP: Antes de nada, quiero un abogado
CB: Solo iba a preguntar...
TP: Abogado!

TP: First of all, I want a lawyer.
CB: It was only going to ask…
TP: Lawyer!
CB: What was your relationship with doctor Markus-?
TP: Lawyer!
CB: - Schoenberg? It seems that you do not want to cooperate.
TP: I will not say a lie or a word. I want my lawyer.

Yep, the photos are just pictures of the crime scene and the artefacts within it. One of them pictured the bedside table with a load of pills on it.... Possibly something to do with Markus' health problems, as has been referred to by Rachel in her last two videos. Some of these have been thrown on the floor around the bed.....

Nice one with the translation. It would appear Tim Penfold possibly has something to do with this, considering his lack of co-operation with the interrogation.

[EDIT] Do we know who Penfold is?

Thanks. Smile

I managed to get into the photos in the end by messing with the addresses. Can't find anything about Tim anywhere, there are a lot of Tim Penfolds out there. I'm kind of hopng that if DEPAA really do send me something, there might be info in there about some of these people?

Was mooching through the case files myself, and translating from the rough Spanish I know (and failing miserably!) when I remembered something ....
Previously on his website, Matt had a friend send him a link which translates the site through Yahoo Translator automatically. Here's the link:
http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.policias-distrito-calca.pe%2F&lp=es_en

Hope this helps Wink

Yes, that was what I was using for my translations. I am Sam Rocz on Facebook, if anyone is looking for me there. I like to keep my ARG facebooking time away from my actual facebook account. Smile
