PS - Sorry for grammatical and spelling errors. Sometimes I type a little too quickly!
Also, I do like my space bar! So sorry (again) for joined up words.

Even more breakthroughs peeps!

To save writing it out again, going to copy and paste what I wrote to Matt.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Think about it Matt! Put two and two together...

There's a secure site on blackmoor's website which requires a username and password. We have two sets of numbers.

Username: 80003347
Password: 43462399

You now have access to an account..... and all their deatails.
Enjoy.

Kim x

Ok.. so there's two areas on this site which are accesible.
Invoice Status and Alerts.

Invoice Status -
Malham seems to have a client by the name of 'PRO/Wood', being in his employment since November 2008. The client seems to pay a retainer every month, normally in the region of £2-3k and expenses.
But on certain dates he gets a 'special services' payment. Now we're looking at a large amount of money (in comparison).

15th December - £8k
29th January - £15k
Expenses also hike up, with payments of £2.8k and £1.5k in January.

Now, I'm not sure on dates, but am I right in thinking this in near Markus' death? Just seems a little supicious... well, a LOT suspicious!

Alerts -

The first two relate to his mobile, and renewal of contract (so this is not a new employer... but a continueing one).
What made things fit for me was the alert about password change. It says that they will phone Malham with his new password within the next few days... this was issued on March 3rd.
When was your flat bugged again?

Yep, I think Malham bugged your flat and got the phonecall while doing it. Hence why he had to write it down. Hence why we have it.
Eureka!

At this point, I have no more info but I will keep you posted as to my discoveries. Be careful Matt.... I feel we had a rent-a-kill.

x

The site also has remote assistance, but the ID has to be found... no idea where to find it. Also, no initial google searches of PRO/Wood bring up. Then again, didn't expect it to!

Now C'MON people! PAY ATTENTION! Rolling Eyes

If it's a 'secure' site, I don't think it would be too coded.

I didn't mean that, I meant would the mystery be that easy? I mean, its too obvious... right?

Aha. The only thing is...it's getting to the last week of Routes, loose ends need to be tied up. And we have yet to see Matt's interview with Aalia...

My money is DEFINITELY on Duncan Woodburn from Prometha. See, I KNEW he was sleazy!

Hmmm....

Are we thinking Markus had a breakthrough which would have cost Prometha serious dosh?
Or perhaps... they are thinking it is their breakthrough? After all, he did work for them. Think about the press that could have got...

The plot thickens...

I'm thinking that's looking likely. For one reason or another, Markus and Prometha found themselves on opposite sides of something.

I think we need to re-read the diary with this new information in mind.

The amount of money in the diary doesn't match any of the payments from Prometha to Malham, does it?

Theory...

Hi all

Okay so I feel like a proper geek now!

But I do have a theory... I sent this in a message to Rachel yesterday on fb:

Quote:

It's this that made me wonder (from Chromologica):
Step forward in Alzheimer's project
December 10, 2008
Extensive research into the properties of a Peruvian plant used by indigenous tribes as a memory aid is to go ahead as part of Chromologica's work into treatments for Alzheimer's.

It's speculative, but if Markus was working with Chromologica and looking into this Alzheimer's cure, it would explain what work he was doing in Peru. If Prometha were working on the same thing, they might have got quite upset at Markus's presence???

Even further speculation... Could it have been Prometha that found out about it first? While Markus was working there, I mean. If Markus had found out about them intending to 'raid' the ingidenous tribes, would he have felt strongly enough about this to take the information to a more ethical pharmaceutical company?

(If he was suffering from Alzheimer's, this might have given him the impetus to 'steal' this information, for the greater good. A modern day Robin Hood???)

A day on, Rachel has posted the measles connection, which links directly to the DEPAA campaign page. Underneath the measles article, in the Biopiracy section, it mentions:
Quote:
a plant that has the power to cure Alzheimer's.

I already e-mailed Chromologica asking specifically about the Alzhemiers cure, and about their relationship with DEPAA. So far I've only got the standard "we are very busy..." reply.

Thoughts?

Kx

Yeees.... I see your thinking.
I was mooching on that sort of theory, not the specifics of Peru and Alzheimers, but the motion that Markus was working on something that could cost Prometha a lot of money.
So, my updated theory (on the back of yours) is that he had a breakthrough in the field.
The DNA sequencing code no-one has figured out yet, 'needs legal clearance' could refer to clarifying whether he can claim the discovery on the foundations of Prometha research.
Furthermore, this could cost Prometha a lot of money if he had got this clearance... not just research scholarships and press attention.
We're talking pharmaceuticals here. Big business.

My friends, we have a common theory.

seems we've come to a stalemate...

So, I've been checking back here every day hoping for people to get chatting again... but no luck Sad

So, I've been making cynical comments on Matt's website. On his recent vid he insinuates that he's going to break into Prometha illegally rather than call the police. To which, I commented
Quote:
'Sorry to point out the obvious, but won't Prometha know about this plan? After all you have posted your plans on an easily accesible website. Durr.'

Or something along those lines...

To which he sent me an e-mail saying:

Quote:
Hi Kim - your last comment raises a dilemma I've struggled with for
awhile. So rather than approve it (which will start getting everyone
worryied about getting arrested) I thought I'd email you. If that makes me
massively irresponsible, I'm sorry, but if we get caught I'll take the
heat. If you think it's unforgivable me not posting your comment, let me
know and I'll agonise over it some more...

So anyway, the reason I've chosen to do my planning in public is that when
I started blogging I was trying to be open about my research. This was so
other people could help me shape my pieces through debate. At that point I
didn't think I'd be doing investigative journalism - my stories were
mostly Darwin pieces. And this whole Prometha thing has kind of blown up
out of my control before I really though through how I was using blogging.

All I can say is that so far I've seen no evidence (and Aalia saw none
either) that either Woodburn or Prometha are aware of mine or Rach's
online stuff. If they were, they'd have destroyed evidence long ago but
according to Aalia, who emailed a colleage of hers, it's still their big
research hope. Perhaps they simply can't afford to dispose of it? On the
upside, posting stuff online to you guys helps us plan something we could
never achieve without you all. So fingers-crossed we get away with it.

Best,

Matt

Not much to update you on, but an update none the less Very Happy

*is scared into replying*

I feel a little like I'm just waiting for things to happen now... there's not much that I can be involved in doing, per se. Alison seems to have caved in about twelve hours, so I didn't even get a chance to email her about DEPAA and Matt. I feel a little like there will be nothing I can do this week, since I know in advance that I can't be involved in the "star prize finale" since I'm "too old".

So... yeah, I guess I'm just waiting for something that I can actually "solve".

Aaaaaw.... Sarah.
You're not too old! You're as old as the man you feel Wink

Looking at Matt's website, I'm guessing that there's going to be a protest participation activity in London coming up. Why do these things always happen in the capital? I wish for once they would do one in Birmingham or something....

Moose.

But I'm beginning to get like you now. I'm just waiting for it to finish. I'm bored. Rolling Eyes
