Madrigal Clue Book Has anyone decoded it all yet? In card pack 2 there is a Madrigal code book made to look like a composition book with an eiffel tower on the cover. The label says I am a madrigal in a code explained on the cover. There are more codes I've figured out but only like 2 or 3. I'll post it when I can do the spoiler rollover thing. has anyone else found more out?

On the front cover:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I am a Madrigal.
On first page inside:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The four animals of the branches are marked with the initial of their branch name using the code at the top of the page.
Across the top of several pages:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In this competition the branches will fall by my hand. In the end there will be only Madrigals.
From Jonah's itinerary:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
King Ludwig
From the Holt's photo:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Ekats drool.
From Alistair's postcard:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
284 Main Street
That's the address on the postcard for Dragon Nautical.
At the bottom of the next page:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Eliminate Irina.
On the back cover:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Remember Madeleine.

Oh... I didn't know the back cover said a name... I thought I got it wrong... I knew the Tomas message and the front cover/label. I also knew the obvious address.
How did you crack the top pages?

That message is written using a substitution code we've come across before. I can never remember which card had it as the secret file it links to online, but I eventually found it. I used a 400 series card, but I think the key is offered on another card as well.

It is called "PIGPEN" and is a old code: I Quote this web site....
http://www.simonsingh.com/The_Black_Chamber/pigpenWithMenu.html
The Pigpen Cipher was used by Freemasons in the 18th Century to keep their records private. The cipher does not substitute one letter for another; rather it substitutes each letter for a symbol. The alphabet is written in the grids shown, and then each letter is enciphered by replacing it with a symbol that corresponds to the portion of the pigpen grid that contains the letter.
The web page also has a de coder part to it too.

I could not come up with the the second word in your phrase. IT works if you can use upper and lower for either, but is that okay?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you were to take the greater than and less than signs that are with the letters and symbols and move them till they were touching you get X's instead. Then you just follow the straight line from symbol to letter.
And I called the pigpen cypher a substitution cypher since it's basically an alphabet they came up with. It does nothing to disguise letter frequency or certain letter patterns that make substitution codes so easy to crack. The only thing it does in addition to the basic caesar cypher is to use something that people might not recognize as writing in the first place.

So who was

Madeleine
and what does she have to do with Rosemary (for remembrance).

The whole answer is potential spoiler to various things from the booklet and book 4.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I think she is the originator of the Madrigals (like Katherine for the Ekaterinas or Jane for the Janus') and maybe a lost or forgotten Cahill sibling. This would explain why a Madrigal's notebook has a coded message about remembering her.
It also reinforces the suspicion that Grace may be a Madrigal herself as her middle name is Madeleine. And she also seems to have friends in every branch of the family (There's the Ekat friend who let her hide the phosphorus clue and it looks like Hilary was a Lucian since she wears a silver snake ring). None of the family seems to know which branch she belonged to. It all just seems to become more and more plausible.

Great resource here. Just thought I'd throw in that there's a Magic Eye of a certain important structure to The 39 Clues on the cover of the Madrigal clue book. Just look where the arrow's pointing from the M. Nice little bonus!

Whoops, just realized the first post acknowledged the image of the tower on the cover. Well, now at least people who were wondering where it was will know from my post. Cheers!
