"Monster" aka "Battlefield Tokyo" is NOT "Cloverfield"
Infamous production of The Asylum

At yesasia you can buy the Cloverfield Kishin manga.

But if you find this "product" with name "batorufi rudotoukyou" (Battlefield Tokyo), you have to know, it's the famous production of infamous movie company named The Asylum.

We have already spoken in these boards about this production named "Monster". It can be perhaps funny to see this knock off of Cloverfield (the company makes only muckbusters like "The Day the Earth stopped" ( Laughing )).

But not so very funny is, they do really desinformation of people. I mean, try to find difference between the official Japanese Cloverfield DVD cover

and the production of The Asylum:

Looks like a Japanese release or perhaps something related. But it is not related at all. So buy it only if you want to see some cheesy special effects and bad actor acting. Or if you want to have it just as a gag. (Well, 50$ for a gag is a little bit too expensive!).

P.S. Anyway they seem to have irony (or just laughing over their audience). They write in their blog about "The Day the Earth stopped":

TheAsylum wrote:
Unlike a certain major studio release that has a suspiciously similar title (we suspect that the majors have spies digging through our trash), our movie features hundreds of giant robots, that guy from The Breakfast Club, and a hot naked chick.

Rofl.

P.P.S. To get impression about the "Monster" movie, here is a trailer.
Very depressive thing, I'd say.

if you go to a hollywood video you can probably still find it in the sci fi section. i was working there when we were still calling it 1-18-08 and man, when 'monster' came out...three days before cloverfield...i laughed so hard. its terrible. if you have to see this garbage, you can rent it cheep, or buy it for about 7.99. but seriously, dont waste your time.

Do they actually show the monster?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I wonder if it's an octapus or a giant squid.

I had the unfortunate chance at seeing Transmorphers, the Asylum's ripoff of Transformers. One of the stupidest and worst movies ive ever seen. Long and boring and the ending made absolutely no sense. So a word of warning people, stay far , far away from Asylum movies, cause its two hours of your life youll never get back. Do something youll enjoy more, like sorting your sock drawer

The funniest thing to me about them ripping off our beloved movie is that they didnt even try to make an original poster either. Their poster is the exact copy of Cloverfield's. I mean even the buildings with the path of the monster in them is in the exact same spot. My 9 yr old daughter, who isnt the brightest, God bless her soul, could come up with something more original ROFLMAO

If you want to give Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams a joke or two, give them this one. Let's see how hard they'll laugh (hope they won't get any cardiac arrest or get annoyed at) about this. xD

If ever they (the original makers) make a sequel to Cloverfield (the original movie), and The Asylum makes a damn again, I hope to see the movie poster would that of the Statue of David getting wrecked this time. I would totally laugh hard if they do. xD

P.S. And oh, are they also making an ARG about this? If they do, I would love to see a blog about Missing Teddy Handsome. xD Shocked Silly Mr. Green
