I wonder what we're missing, though. Like, things may very well have gone quiet for a reason. What if the triumvirate met, and somehow shut down all communications, and we're the ones that can open it up again or convince them to? Maybe we're missing that part of the story.

I keep poking at things, but I just haven't struck inspiration yet.

I've been doing a bit of thinking around the Important Materials thing as suggested by our antipodean friend, trying it as a substitution key for various number keys we've seen around but couldn't make anything make any sense...

Re: stringing us along--

If the game is still running, then DEVELOP THE PLOT.

If it's over, then TELL US IT'S OVER.

This business of slowly leaking 'the game is about to move to phase two' stuff is immensely frustrating. It's been two months since anything has happened, since any contact has been made, yet the PMs still string us along. Why would you do that?

Well, we just got two tweets, and there was the "fortune favors the bold" thing, so we're at least getting some contact now - unfortunately, I'm kinda driven to thinking these are just "hang in there" messages more than clues to solve another puzzle, but any exploration in that direction certainly wouldn't be unwelcome.

 Honest Question

I'm a lurker, but trying to figure out the ARG dynamics...Real quick, is Unfiction the definitive source/single gathering for this ARG?

It would make sense to have one meeting place to interact and solve the current puzzle all together (and easier for PMs to keep tabs on), but in reality would it be possible there are other groups playing the game that aren't here on the forums?

I've always wondered that and how people find each other after they see the first clues...or in this case the off-beat and hilarious TIMM vid.

It's not being used now, it's just that time was lost at one point because there was another table not identified. We get hooked on the Hollywood Glitz thing instead. Something needing Important Materials is I think coming up soon, a puzzle about materials is coming and your time won't have been wasted.

I think.

 MUTINY
TIMM needs a heart transplant

Calling on any active TIMM PMs to hijack this ARG and keep it alive regardless of "authorization" or "funding".

...Y/N?

 This is not a whine
It's a wake.

OK then, the last thing I was waiting for was the Fridays the Thirteenth. They came and went and it seemed to me that the uh oh was put in the bird for that occasion - two lovely Fridays that would have fit the tweets so well. Now given that level of planning, the PMs were aiming for that to kick off something I'm sure but... here's where you need to grab a beverage and pretzels and just bear with me as I invite you to have a wake for at least this section of the ARG. Recall fun times. Don't feel sad, look back and enjoy.

Exclamation From this point in I go out of game big time. Exclamation

Speculation.

Synydyne has made a few projects where they feature people that build their own reality. Witches in Hoopeston. The Werewolf battle. They seem to be interested in people that can believe in something so much that they make it real, recolour reality. That of course leads to ARGs, it has to. So what was the reason for making this thing? OK, the same people that are going to make a film about a group of werewolf enthusiasts is very likely going to ask - can we convince people to run across Central Park carrying fennel bulbs and yelling BONUS! Can we do the thing that we've documented other people being able to do? Magic?

I am not calling this a prank, far from it. I'm calling it research. I'm calling it testing the design of a idea, seeing how far they can take something. Can they make the magic take place? And to an extent the magic did take place.

Now what do they do? Do they just keep this rolling? There's a problem... which I agree with others sounds like funding, but also, how do they migrate this thing up to being a documentary of some kind? They couldn't film the NYC meeting, but thank god for the YouTube captures. What can they film? Or is filming really the point? Where do you take this thing? Bigger. That needs showing off the results so far to the money people. "Look we can make this happen! Give us a chance to take it further."

Right now is an awful time to be seeking money it has to be said.

Maybe it just has to be given a rest for the time being. Looking at their profile there's no way they can leave this realm, because it has a lot of what they seem to want. There is a good chance that this storyline will be dropped. But the same people will be back with some kind of follow up once they work out how this can connected with their other ambitions.

I have a hard time believing the "social experiment" excuse in general -- in my experience, this usually follows a pseuicide. ( http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Pseuicide ; http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1032470.html )

Are you accusing TIMM of being a case of ARG Pseuicide? (Because that would be awesome.)

Well todays the day. The seasons have changed. Will the GS wake up and reek havoc over the city and make the PM's start talking? Stay tuned next week for another exciting episode of TIMM. Same Bonus Time, Same Bonub Channel

Hey Boston, did you ever hear back from the PMs re: whether the game is dead or not?

Nothing. I'm scared that I might have been a little forward with having to know what was going on. Lemme know what you guys think. Here's the note:

Quote:
So I've been really active in this ARG since the beginning. I was at the Central Park meetup. I loved everything that you guys were doing and always wondered what it was really going to turn into. Then after the meetup everything slowed down. All of us at the unfiction boards worked together to solve the last of the puzzles and waited for you guys to point us in the direction of the next move. Now it seems like its never going to happen and we're all debating as to whether the game is really going to live on anymore, seeing as so many of us have dropped out of it due to nothing happening. Is there any hope for this game to continue or are all the tweets just trying to hold on to whats already lost? I've been appointed to ask (so to speak, haha) because I have already stepped out of game to see what was up and I got the email below back saying that something big was still going to happen. Is something going to happen? If not, can you let us in on what direction the story was going to take because its driving us all crazy, haha? I'm sorry if something happened that hurt the project because it was one of the best things I've ever been a part of. I'd hate to see it die without knowing the vision you guys saw in it. Thanks!

The email I got back was in reference to when they told me that the biggest and best part of TIMM was yet to come. This was sent on Tuesday (probably early morning knowing my nocturnal ass)

Vernal Equinox in 2009 occurred at 6:44 A.M. CDT yesterday, March 20. March 20 also happens to be my birthday. most years March 20 marks the Vernal Equinox, or first day of Spring. occasionally, the event occurs on March 21 instead.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equinox

obviously, no birthday present appears forthcoming from our friends in New York City. no surprise really.

you would think these people could at least tie up loose ends and describe their shared vision for the failed game-plan. leaving this thing hanging is really a sad epitaph for what could have or should have been. hell, if it really was a funding issue, we might have been able to support the thing ourselves without breaking anonymity.

what a sad ending to a truly unique experience. one has to wonder now if TIMM, which attracted new ARG enthusiasts in droves, actually ended up souring even more people on the experience due to their apparent indifference...

Sad
