Eve sent a hint via email:

Quote:

I have found something.
A window has appeared.
But, there's some glass for you to crack before you can enter:

All Astir The Pulpit.A Bosom Friend The Sermon.Loomings.Loomings Going Aboard

Be informed that there is a second part to this puzzle.
I will send you the second riddle when you're ready for it.

Eve

My speculation, currently:

Moby Dick:
Chapter 20: All Astir
Chapter 8: The Pulpit
Chapter 10: A Bosom friend
Chapter 9: The Sermon
Chapter 1: Loomings
Chapter 21: Going Aboard

Perhaps need to cross reference with the tagged version of Alice ?

But Alice doesn't have Chapter 20, nor 21.

Unfortunately the website does not load (403:forbidden). Missing the second part?

Nice, I had not spotted the pattern.
I tried sending the numbers back to Eve in the meanwhile; got an auto response that she's "in the field right now"; we'll see if we get an answer later on.

I tried to look that IP address up but the best I could find is a reference to Go Daddy Sad

..btw, do we really have no NYC player yet ? Really curious if there's anything at the phone booth in Times Square..

I also got the message from Eve. I really feel like we're missing something with E.Y.E.'s anagram. Time to get out the scrabble letters, I guess, and see if I can't get more minds on this.

Wiki

Started a wiki as this is the only game I'm actively participating in. Might as well. I forget stuff easily.

I've just started it so it's barebones, but should be up to date by morning.

Going with theory, it's actually 208.109.1.21 (not.121). And given the site running there, I think it's possibly the wrong idea ;)

No, Loomings shows up twice, so the first one is right. Which fits, since there's obviously something there, but we don't have enough of the address to see the specific parts.

New error message from this url sez:

"Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."

Is it normal to throw different error codes from the same url?

I think that's the error message I saw last night (code was 403 iirc), and it seems a reasonable error.
WHen you set up a site, you can lock it from browsing, which means people need to have a more specific url (e.g.: site/page.html) to get something. If not, people with just the site url could see a listing of all the files on the site (which leads to possible security issues).

If not
"Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."
What error were you guys getting last night ?

didn't know if that's the same error code or not. There was no number associated with what I got. IMO, what I got wasn't a REAL error code but what do I know? I'm just a lowly truckdriver...

Support the Virus has started sending out friend invitations on myspace - I friended them back. I'm curious whether being friends with everybody involved (as opposed to only TSO and its allies) will make any difference.

Oh.. ok, yeah that's the same erro we're getting today. It's all good.. I don't think everyone should know off the top of their head the difference between a 404, and a 403 error, or the 5xx errors, etc etc.. I'm a developer by trade so I translated AUZ's report (403:forbidden) into "Directory Listing Denied" and was merrily hopping my way - but you are right, we should have quoted the actual error found on the page Smile

Good to know; I'll re-befriend them. I've been befriending everyone involved so far.

Also, let's not forget about this bit of code not solved yet:

Code:
NCQONTK EGVIW1L0 EGDXM

after some searching I found a few references to abc123 and dtmf, which lead me to believe that perhaps we are looking at a numbers on a phone as 1 and 0 do no have anything cooresponding

so if I am right we get 6276685 34849150 34396 idk what we use it for though, it just seems to make the most sense to me
