Just noticed on the blog...it looks like all the text has been scrambled randomly except for Adam's name, it's the same everywhere: 13247-5.

Is there anything important about those numbers??

EDIT:
Three websites that came up when searching the number.

Romance novel, book about psychiatric and social problems, and jet engines.

A friend who's helping me with this thought they might be of interest.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

In the first movie a jet engine is what kills Donnie.

Exactly.

The site regarding the jet engine is a parts locator service. Perhaps a certain code or number will find a specific Plane part on the page leading to another clue? Just a thought. Smile

Edit: Also is that a legitimate site? Has anyone done a whois on it? I would but I dont know how. Also, I glanced through the source on the link you provided but nothing really popped out at me.

I think we might want to be careful of trying to draw too many parallels to the movie, at least as far as
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
airplanes and airplane parts
are concerned. (Did that need spoiler? The previous mention used it ... )

My take is that all the Donnie Darko references so far have been to show us that this is a Tangent Universe situation. Yes, we seem to have an Artifact and a Vessel, but nothing says the Artifact has to be related to the Artifact in Donnie Darko. I would go so far as to say it almost certainly isn't; the strange object Adam found looks weird and, more importantly, behaves very strangely. I wonder if it's something that's "not supposed to be here" (from the future, another planet, alternate dimension ...), and it's appearance in this world is what caused the Tangent to form.

Also, after reviewing the pages of The Philosophy of Time Travel MrToasty posted, I'm not entirely sure that we are the Manipulated Living. We want to help Adam, as opposed to the description of the Manipulated Living in the book.

Looks completely legit and OOG to me. Registered in 2006 to a business of the same name in Florida, attached email is for a company email server ... seems WAY too solid to be IG

I only put the spoiler for those who haven't seen the movie Smile

Also, I read through it and agree that we aren't the manipulated living.
Adam is obviously the "living receiver" since he received the artifact. Since he is the living receiver it mentions he will have certain abilities. "These include increased strength, telekinesis, mind control, and the ability to conjure fire and water."

Perhaps we should ask him if hes noticed anything like that.

Also the key elements of time travel are water and metal. The artifact is metal, and when he put it into his glass of water he heard people (the manipulated living) Those that are close to him like his relatives. So perhaps he was hearing the future when he put the artifact into the water.

It says the manipulated living will want to destroy him, so perhaps we should warn him he could be in danger.

The user I inquired about earlier today has now disappeared from the followers on Adam's blog.

Don't know if this is related but I told one of my Corpmates about this in EVE and he told me he saw a preview of the Donnie Darko sequel which led me to find this

On a whim I decided to "look for the trail"...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you take the author of the quote in the source code, Emerson, you get this page.

Good catch. This was in the source.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
even in the /archive, one/ may find new words

Edit: Maybe there's something with all the backslashes.

Well done, Albany; I figured the Emerson had to be a clue, but never would have tried plugging it into the URL.

The text on the new page is from the first chapter of The Philosophy of Time Travel book (See MrToasty's earlier post), except for the last line. No idea what to make of the backslashes, but they do seem oddly placed.

One thought was that it could have something to do with the black hole. Not the slashes but the bottom line and I'm still stumped about the source stuff.

I sent adam an email telling him that his blog was acting funny, and that he should be safe, because the object freaked me out, and i quickly got this in response

I thought I could fix it all.

I'm away trying to make things wrong again.

EDIT: Sorry, I did not realize someone had already mentioned this.

Excellent job Albany! I tried about a million things in the url, but never thought to try emerson. Bravo.

Edit to avoid double posting:

Random idea....could archive one perhaps mean the first blog entry? It was last to be scrambled/encoded.....maybe we can find "new words".
