Now that he's got the scan up, I'm sure I've run across something like that somewhere. I don't remember it messing with electronic equipment, but for some reason it seems familiar. Darn my foggy weekend brain
It seems sort of familiar to me, too...but I can't tell why...

Oooh! Good thinking Natas! You should let Adam know what you've found! (^__^) ...sounds like a distress signal or something? Maybe it's repeating?

I've been playing with the audio too... I'm making out some of the text, but not all. Can't narrow down the primary frequencies either.
brackets are uncertain (just best guess, even if it doesn't make sense )

I can make out some phrases. but nothing makes sense still.. You can email Adam if you want. I'm already corresponding with people in 2 other games. I'm easily confused.

Oooooh, spooky!
...yeah, I don't really have anything to add XD Oh! Could the image he posted be stegged? I tried a blank password and "1418" with no results...
ETA: The bit before "We retrieved..." sounds like "Two minutes left" to me.

Grrr for technical difficulties. I tried running it through my audio software to clean up the ambient noise to no avail. Ok, so maybe if my computer and I were on friendly terms right now I might have had more success. I open audio program, computer shuts down. Stupid thing. It needs an exorcism.

New post on Adam's blog, with more audio from the object. Can't for the life of me make it out though, it's way too fuzzy. Anyone wanna go at decrypting it??
ETA: Scratch that! I'm playing with the file in Audacity, and I think I've almost got it...

it's the theme from the Gears of War commercial - Mad World, but about an 18 second clip from the beginning, repeated 3 times.
ID3 tags: Artist is "Adam Kidde", title "Recording 5"
