I wonder if this is how the 300 Troubles started...

I would say to just go ahead and shatter it (because really, what other clues do we have at this point?) but may I add that by doing so we might inadvertently be choosing one of the three paths Jagoda alluded to (and thus shutting out the others)?

If there's a path involving shattering artifacts, it sounds like the best one anyways.

If you were to fall down an up escalator for ten minutes your progress might look like the graph at bottom right:

Replace 'walk' with 'painful series of somersaults' and that about sums it up. XD

Well chances are, if you smash it and theoretically cause impending doom to Milwaukee... we'd most likely be the ones saving it.

I just had a car accident on my way home from work. I blame the CDF!!! Damn that turkey!
I have to agree. I can't stop getting electric shocks from everything I touch. And I don't even live in Milwaukee.
EDIT: My bad, that's every day.

Relia already said she put it back together in the Chuck thread and the bad things have continued, so unless there's something more complicated to fixing it (do we have any details on how to re-seat? ) I doubt those are the options we have.

What if Uh-oh is how you activate it?
Unlikely, in my mind, but worth considering.

A new perspective I'm half asleep so ignore me if this is just silly.
Maybe look at the pages of the diary (or handbook) from the angle it would be if you held it flat in front of your face at nose height? As in hold it open and horizontal to your face, like a plate. Maybe something on the page will line up at that angle to form a word or picture? Just trying to figure out the nostril paper cut.
Time fore sleep.

He's down two artefacts He stubbed his toe on a mirror, and then on a cinder... and now he's down two artefacts.
The turkey got opened, and what's the other artefact? It's the book.
That's a real nasty idea if it's wrong, but it's more likely that the book was tampered with, than the turkey was tampered twice.
He mentions a paper cut.
I have no idea about the wax banana, mind you.
