Re: A new perspective

Maybe look at the pages of the diary (or handbook) from the angle it would be if you held it flat in front of your face at nose height? As in hold it open and horizontal to your face, like a plate. Maybe something on the page will line up at that angle to form a word or picture? Just trying to figure out the nostril paper cut.

THere is some art historical context for this sort of thing... images that have hidden meaning when seen from the proper perspective. But, isn't ARH just a bunch of flickr images and not a physical book? If it were, there would be alot more pages of text to work with.

Regardless, the characters' bad luck must be some sort of clue if Chuck's bird pooping was so right on.

this may be a new way to "power up" a level or two. run out to your local mall and give it a try for yourselves!

DEAR BOSTONBEATS:

probably the best way to sufficiently ruin the diary without damaging any possible hidden messages within would be to cut it in half along the spine. just saying.

Oddly enough, regarding all the banana peel tweets, it's World Banana Day

Ah, nice to see this thing is still alive and kicking. And all it took was some wanton destruction of a prized artifact. Attagirl.

It seems like of everyone involved, the Youtube account was most perturbed by Relia's actions, answering not with "Uh-oh" but "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE." If I were a betting man, I'd bet that pressing them would get us the most info. Maybe this got covered already and I missed it, but do we have confirmation on who runs that account? Russo or someone else?

On a completely unrelated note, I'm typing this in beautiful downtown Seoul. Anybody want some 비빔밥 while I'm out here? My treat!

maybe posting more photos of it will push things a long even further. try putting it back together and posting a photo to see what will happen.

everyone seems to want to tell you to destroy it. Let's see if not destroying it helps first.

the mirror

maybe the hint from chuck was to look at the book in the mirror? or something about the cdf and a mirror?

I'm inclined to think that something in A Reasonable Haven might need to be viewed in a mirror because of the remark at the end about looking at it in different ways.

i agree with this. i don't have a copy printed out, but maybe someone who does can try this. also look at the pages from different angles as Blessed Blogger suggested earlier.

something about the page with the dice and the page with the dinosaurs has always struck me as odd.

btw: Chuck mentioned bananas twice. this has to be relevant somehow. maybe bend the pages into a banana shape before viewing with a mirror? bend the diary like a banana? something we're looking for is banana shaped? help us, Chuck!

I'm looking at the dice at all kinds of crazy angles... I just can't see anything... but it does say WHATS THIS MEAN?

(BTW the mean of the dice faces is 3 1/3.
They show 5,4,1 2,6,4
hidden on the other side are 2,3,6 1,3,5

Sorry for that)

yeah, the "what's this mean" is pretty obvious, i agree. i've looked at the dice before but they didn't seem relevant at the time. maybe they're not now either, but i dunno where else to look. the cryptic response of "see me", instead of noting right in the handbook is also ominous here, i think. btw, those are "cocked dice" as well, another bird reference...

the page with the dinosaurs is also of interest. "illustration... too much?" as in too obvious a clue? "these were commissioned at great expense, they are staying in." commissioned? as in by some great artist (someone capable of hiding a message within the images subliminally, perhaps?)? for those child-like drawings? could just be part of the quirkiness that is TIMM, or it could be a clue. hard to say, but worth a look imho...

sorry for the double post, but i just noticed something else of interest on the dinosaur page. if looking at the volcano upside down, there are three distinct straight lines (supposedly to show contour). could these also be interpreted as three "paths"? the "lava" looks like a pointer or arrow indicating the path to the right, whatever that might be.

i wonder if we are supposed to overlay the volcano drawing on top of something else to indicate our path? might be nothing, but i thought this should be tossed out there at the very least. as it is, we got nuthin' again...

Today I brought the top part of the CDF with me to work -- putting it about 20 miles distant from the base, which is at my home. I'll take a photo with my camera phone -- we'll see if putting some distance between the pieces has any effect.
