Woo, in on the ground bloody floor, finally. Here's the response I sent.

Hi there! It would seem I got added to your mailing list by mistake. However, I'm currently between jobs, and I'd love to assist at your school. I'm EMT-B certified, which more than qualifies me to work as a school nurse. (I can give shots, patch kids up, the whole nine.)

I'm also interested in this serial murder case. I haven't heard anything of it, but I don't pay much attention to the TV and newspaper, entirely too depressing. Is there any sort of consistent M.O.? How many victims?

This one looks interesting...

I do believe I will throw my hat into the ring for this one.

Sent a message:

Greetings,

I and my family have moved to Evan Fall and we are in the process of looking for a high school for our 16 year old daughter.

We will be doing preliminary legwork to see where we might be interested in sending her...and thought that perhaps if you were to send us your school newsletter, we might get a better idea of what your school has to offer us.

For instance, we are definitely looking into the cheerleading program. Our daughter was on a state champion cheering squad back in our old hometown of Tampa, FL.

We also have a son who will be entering his last year of middle school this year, and so are looking with his future in mind. I have high hopes for him as a star quarterback...hopefully you have an excellent sports program.

hopefully i can get added to the list.

Alright, it's been a couple of days. Has anyone gotten any new emails, or had any contact with anyone? I haven't....

Maybe we'll hear something after the "big dance" tonight. The pace seems a little slow but I'm going to stick with it. Not sure how closely I'll be able to follow things for the next two weeks - will depend on the internet situation in Italy...

Total newbie here, this is my first game. Really excited. Sent out some e-mails.

Quote:
Dear Ms./Mrs. Zapuda,

I'm a grade 11 student in Alberta, Canada. My mom is thinking of moving us to Evan Falls, and I was wondering a bit about your school. I haven't been able to find very much information about your school (I've heard it's very new) other than these e-mail addresses. I was wondering if you could give me an outline of what your school is like, and any enrollment requirements you may have. Also, if it's not too much to ask, I'd like to be put on your mailing list, so that I can keep up to date with what's going on in case I do end up in town suddenly (my mom is unsure of when we're going to be moving). I really hope to become a part of your community and a part of your student body!

Sincerely,

{My full name here.}

Hi there. I'm a possible new student at Eruditio (won't know if I'm in until I get into town and officially enroll). While searching around for info on this school, I stumbled upon your e-mail. I hear you're the head cheerleader. ^_^ Pretty impressive position. I'm guessing that you must have a really great perspective on the school, right? Could you tell me a bit about what Eruditio is like, and maybe some students and faculty that are of interest? Thanks a whole bunch for your help! I hope to be a classmate of yours some day!

~Terri

Dear Mr. Horowitz,

I'm going to be moving into the Evan Falls area, and I'm thinking of enrolling at Eruditio Private School. While trying to find info on the school, I came across your e-mail. I'm assuming you're a faculty member at Eruditio? Do you think you could tell me a little bit more about Eruditio (my knowledge of the school is somewhat lacking)? Like, what are the classes like, as well as the teachers? Is it an arts or math/science based school? Any information you could give me would be very helpful.

Sincerely,

{Full name}

Can't wait for replies. Hopefully this'll shed some light on what's going on in this school. ^_^

New guy here Smile

How did you guys get the original emails sent to you? Is there an arg mailing list that people send stuff to to get their games started up? If so I'd like to apply.

Why do I get the sensation that this is some sort of pre-game. With no website, no physical presence in the Internet world... maybe all these emails are a precursor to something larger, more "real"?

They have mentioned their website is essentially in development...

Agree with Nighthawk

It seems like this may be a very targeted precursor to an actual game. But I'd think that if something doesn't show up in emails or clues somewhere after the dance tonight, that maybe it was launched too early, or it just stalled.

:meta mumblings: could be that they are trying to judge interest and get a player base ready before launching websites? :/meta:

This went very quiet

Since I started following this and it seems to have gone poof, I just sent off this email to try and get someone from the News Team at EPS talking:

Quote:
Hi there,
I'm a reporter with Black and Blue, the student newspaper of Lewis & Clark College in Oregon, and I was wondering if any of the Eruditio News Team members would be available for an email interview concerning student feelings on the serial murders that have occurred in Evanfall.

I have been working on a story about how violent crime affects students ability to concentrate on daily educational tasks, and how it impacts the social aspects of the school experience. Any quotes or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. You may contact me through this email at any time.

All my best,
Bobbie Hope

Maybe something will come of it.... or maybe the serial killer did in teh entire student body at the dance. Twisted Evil

one day I will get used to this forum closing tags for me. ~sigh~ [/quote]

Yeah still heard nothing and the big dance was 5 days ago.

Maybe the killer went on some MASSIVE spree? :/

As a new player this is really disappointing. Why would someone launch a game, make reference to a specific event (the big dance), and then not provide any updates beyond one or two email responses for each person? If the goal is to generate interest and establish a player base I think it is a poor approach. If something doesn't happen in the near future then I'll just abandon the game. I was excited to get the original email trailhead because I thought I would be right in the middle of a new and exciting game.

Or maybe I'm just grumpy because I'm in Rome to take photographs and its pouring down rain...

Things happen. Games launch and then almost never go as the PM's thought they would. Puzzles that should take weeks to solve are done in mere minutes. Flash gets decoded, websites that are not ready yet are found through WHOIS searches.

Is it disappointing? Sure thing. Nothing like waiting for Xmas to open your gift only to be told that Santa hit some traffic on the interstate and will be running late. But let's give this one a bit longer before we jump down the PM's throats. The game is stalled, not imploded.

Just a lurker's perspective.
