Weird Email (spam code?)

Sooo I just received a pretty weird email. Here's the body of the text:

Did anyone else get this, or is this just the weirdest spam ever?

More than likely spam unless someone's doing an ARG about lift-trucks...?

This is the site your email came from http://glpowerlift.com

Actually - I got a really strange email also, that doesn't appear to be related to the site sending it:

Looks like someone may be spoofing email addresses. definitely strange.

=edit=
Out of curiosity, I replied to the email. Much like I suspected:

Tried substitution cipher on both emails, not getting anything that makes sense. Possibly have to wait for more clues?

I'm hoping so. Assuming these are actually a part of anything. I didn't have any luck trying to decipher them either.
But then, if we don't figure them out, maybe nothing else will be forthcoming... Question

Just ran a Google search on a selection of the shortest couple of words, and came up with this little gem:

http://www.bosdev.com/demo/BosClassifieds/classified.php/listing/64/business-industry/innzxcl-cjkgs-xa-vqql-awhhl-yytvm-

A hit for "Exqlj" from the original email. Either someone's leaving breadcrumbs for something, or this is just what happens when you stare for too long into the bowels of the Internet.

Either way, I'm officially creeped out and intrigued at the same time, and I don't really have time to investigate this further right now. Anyone else is welcome to try, I guess.

I got an e-mail much like this too, but to one of my ARG-free addresses.

It had similar gobbledegook in the body, and also in the subject line, but it had the odd English word in between, like "the", "of" and "always".

I can't remember the sender mail domain - because after doing a whois search on the sender IP in the header, it turned out that it came from Costa Rica. This gives me a very strong suspicion that this is in fact spam, so I deleted it.

Creeped me out a bit too, though Shocked

[edited for grammar]

I've seen a few of those as well, but I'm not convinced this is the same thing. But then I'm not convinced it's not either. The 2 email addresses used so far, have been from "normal" established businesses. The one I received was from the Anne Arundel County Public schools in MD!

However, on that same thought, I'm not sure it would be ethical/legal for anyone running an ARG to spoof email addresses like that. Dunno

I suppose the last part is, there's not much we can do with any of it at this point. There hasn't been a lot of luck in trying to decipher them so far which would point to it being spam.
Except - that spam, even if just a bunch of nonesense, would have had a link to take you to whatever website they were trying to get you to.
Confused

It's probably just someone exercising/expanding their botnet.
