With this email Dave just confirmed he's into the "haxhoax" hotmail. Reckon the "FROM" is interesting.

Got the same email; I guess 'An Onymous' is Dan's (aka haxhoax) nick. Might be handy in finding more info or solving puzzles later on today.

I just received the initial email from Dave, thanking me for the offer of help. He mentioned checking the website, which has been updated now.
Currently looking for a good barcode decoder..

suomynona

invert to make a valid barcode, then rotate the result

=anonymous

eta: however, the password to be entered is just "suomynona"

Might be an easy way for the PM to know who solves each puzzle first.

Gave thebruce props in my mail. When Zxing wouldn't decode it I hit the thesaurus to see what "inverotation" means. Still clueless there. Laughing

just a quick thought as this is now moving forwards...

i'm new to twitter, so not sure exactly who can see what, but henry mandelstrom is following me, which i gather means he can see my messages posted? in which case, do we need to be careful with anything we sent to dave via twitter, and anything he sends us?

i'm dropping dave a message suggesting he uses email for anything that he might not want pharmament to read. given it looks like they may have bumped his brother off, and all that.

nice work on the inverotation too - just going to have a look now.

I'm guessing a made-up word. Combing inverted and rotated - which would make sense based on thebruce's find... Geek

I've been on Twitter for a bit now. The way it works, in short is as follows:

~ Tweets are by default public; this means that everyone can see everyone's tweets. There are websites and twitter clients that expose tha raw stream of everyone's updates.

~ If you 'follow' someone, their updates get displayed to you in your default Twitter home page;

~ You can mark yourself as protected, which means nobody can see your updates unless they are following you;

~ Direct Messages might require the sender and receiver to be following each other (I'm still not 100% sure of that, since I think the original protocol changed at some point in this regard);

Anyways, yeah, it would be possible for the PMs to check every player's Twitter updates and determine who's telling what to whom and act accordingly (creating, in essence, in-game factions). On the other hand, it's common to follow-back whomever follows you (some twitter accounts are set up to automatically follow you if you start following them), so the fact that you're being followed might be just a courtesy...

thanks for the 'tweets for dummies' overview - i had avoided the thing up to now but needs must Smile.

i was thinking more IG when i warned about our use of twitter (rather than PM monitoring), such as the reaction we might get from pharmament the first time one of us sends a tweet to dave along the lines of 'OMG pharmament killed yr brother and you have the evidence in a file on his old computer? at yr isolated house, with no security 20 miles from the nearest police station, where you are currently on yr own, and quite defenceless?' - he's currently the only person talking to us and i would hate for him to meet a sticky end just yet Very Happy

[OOG] Just needed to straighten this out in case the PM's are looking. I actually didn't solve the riddle first - if it wasn't for thebruce I probably would've been waaay behind... Embarassed

So thanks go to him, for solving the first code/riddle.

In reference to DK's last tweet:

in order: Wulf, The Bruce, Snorkle 256, Preston, Amandel, F.O.R. Thank you all for cracking the first one. I'm on to the second.about 4 hours ago from web

I did solve the barcode thing, but the inverotation was what I was stuck on.

Hi all. Just started reading through this one and am going to lurk. I'm still rather new to this scene, but will pop in if I can offer any help.
