I think the word we are trying to spell is 8 letters long. So any ideas you guys have that match 8 letters try them out using LL's combo technique

Greek mythological words that have to do with the ocean that have 8 letters:

Poseidon
Sea Nymph
Palaimon
Serpents

Sea Nymph looks like a close bet. Only a few more letters until we can get that one.

does the order of input matter...

for instance, would "H,L" and "L,H" produce different results?

Hmm well would a Little Sister be Nymph-ish? I think they are in an odd way

For no particular reason I've been repeatedly pushing the tiles in the same sequence as follows;

top left corner - bottom right corner
2nd top left - 2nd bottom right and so on.

And I've heard the following messages over and over;

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Two eyes watch my four, like Janice/Janus I do spy.
I see both fore and aft, with ideas hyper-wide

The Greeks would say I have feet on either side. I camoflage myself by showing what's inside

A barrell is my home with squirts inside it's walls. My eggs are set like jewels within it's crystal halls

Like an English man/mam my children I do lug. In a carriage I do cram. I push them with a shrug

Now if you'll learn my name you'll know how deep to sink. Seek where Rapture lies, I wait upon it's brink

Into Rapture's depths the secret doth (?) descend(s). Through a pane of glass he'll see my glassy head

here's all combos i have so far...

any two like symbols - "A"

B,G - H
H,R - Y
H,E - L
M,B - N
O,B - P
I,M - U
R,B - S
E,C - G
C,P - R

wish i had started keeping notes when i started...

one puzzle i did did not give me any combo and starting playing right after i picked two symbols...

Figured out why those combinations work! you have to substitute numbers for letters first. I.E., the first combination is two plus seven. Which is 9. and 9 minus one is 8, which would be H. The same is true for all of the combinations. e and c means 5 plus 3 minus one which gives us seven which is G. There you go!

idk. I'll do some study on sea nymphs to sea if they're see-through or something, lol. keep looking for ways to spell out those two words. (little sister is not 8 letters...) Use my method that I posted earlier. add the numbers of the letters together and subtract one to make your new letter!

Edit: did you guys know that Calypso from the odyssey was a sea nymph? Forgot about that. may be related...

Okay, I'll try. for instance, if you put A (which equals 1) and B (which equals 2), you would put them together and subtract 1, which equals 2. So A and b together would make B. E =5 and F = 6. 5 and six together equal 11. 11-1 = 10. 10 =J. So the combination E and F makes J. See?

It's easier if you asume that the alphabet starts at 0. So Circle with an X through it is A (which equals zero) which is why when you pair it up with any other symbol, you just get that symbol.
It also explains why you can't get a value greater than 25, (the puzzle resets).

So the goal is to solve the riddle, and input the 8 letter word, by doing a little math. Match up the symbols in pairs, to make the correct symbols appear. If you do it right, you use all the symbols in the grid, and solve the puzzle.
