Well, that's certainly Lutwidge's M.O.

Anyone get a postcard? I haven't yet but I'm still holding out hope.

Ah. So now we know the coordinates of the crash. Anyone know a special name for that place?

Maybe we're supposed to enter in the coordinates themselves? I'm off to try that.

GOT IT! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The coordinates were the key!

All right, a new message from Lutwidge:

"All the red pawn's ancient lore should be studiously ignored, the stones are mute, they tell you naught, yet in his pack of lies he's caught an accidental truth. The tales they tell in Reykjavik of sailors lost and broken ships all end in tragedy, save one. Tell the name and you'll be done. Save five more steps, forsooth."

And the bottom row of Nixie tubes is still visible.

Let's get cracking!

Okay, Cataclysmic V and I are going through the archives again, looking for any five-letters-or-less words that Lynch used.

Interesting, in one of Lynch's letters in the May-June folder, and entire paragraph is crossed out, and there are some letters that are capitalized that I don't think should be. The A in atomic shouldn't be, nor the H in hierophants or the F in finest. I'm not sure whether or not Golden Thread should be, but if not, then there are five letters right there, A F H G T (or possibly some other combination ) Maybe it's worth a try? I would by I'm not really sure how to enter codes with the Nixie tubes.

On that note...
LETTER FROM THE RED PAWN
My dear Celeste,

Pleased to read in the papers that you have, against all odds, survived your quixotic expedition. I owe you some small apology for my role in pointing you towards the peaks; a more incisive (Or Only Lucky) mind may have detected the falseness of the spoor. But the ambition of your quest and the volume of your voice distracted the Interferers: and thus this Obscurer Of Labyrinths has been free to pursue the secret of the Bellman's Chart.

As you climbed the heights, I sought deeper; and in the end, like the Baker, I will surely vanish. Since I failed to join your Himalayan party, you numbered only eight: a figure, I daresay, of ominous portent. Your Agony is regrettable, but it is a requisite ancillary of the Eighth Fit.
Sylo and I tried Baker, but to no avail... It's interesting that there are capitalized words that make no sense to be capitalized.

And also, something that's been bugging me since the update that posted the Megalith picture, there's something really weird about the point where the three right-most rocks meet. Every time I like at it I feel like its looks like the girl from the Ring is crawling out of that little hole.

Here's this for everyone. Now you can try solutions. Thanks to Sylocat.
A = NA B = DW C = RY D = DY E = EA
F = RR G = EW H = AY I = DR J = DN
K = AR L = NW M = RN N = AN O = RW
P = EY Q = DA R = AW S = NR T = AA
U = NY V = NN W = RA X = ER Y = ER
Z = EN

Megalith picture?
Its in the May-June archive, it's a picture of four rocks stacked together.

And check out this website, it's about Icelandic myths about all the different kinds of whales. All but one, the blue whale, are considered evil and are known to love wrecking ships.

Anyone else getting a glitch where if you put in the wrong answer, the buttons stop working until you close out of the box and go back in?
