The audio tape has changed as well, it's the recording of "The Deep Red Secret" that was mentioned in the memo under the lamp.

Cool. Meltzer's been busy this weekend.

I wonder who the 'slab of muscle' is? My first instinct was a big daddy, but that makes no sense. Maybe a government agent?

Celeste Roget

Has anyone been able to contact Celeste Roget? Her father shares a common name with some duke or marquis c. ~1600 who lived in Somme. I haven't been able to locate a solid number in the French white pages. Given the recent abductions in Eastern Canada, I thought it possible she's now living in Quebec. However...no luck.

One more thing; any contact with the James Millard Oakes League. I don't have a good reason for it, but I think it is important that lodge #48 is mentioned...

I'll keep grinding.

James Millard Oakes League

Given Celeste's warning about intentional misinformation, who else thinks it possible that the James Millard Oakes League is being run by those now in charge of Rapture, or by the American government? What if...and of course I've no evidence for it...Rapture is fueling the cold-war? they definitely have the resources to manipulate governments.

That is a very good thought. If you don't want to be found, wouldn't you intentionally lead people away? If people in control of Rapture are also leading the James Millard Oakes League, then they can do everything and anything they can to lead people away.

The "puppet master" who's supposedly the real power behind the big sister could be controlling this as well... or we're just thinking too much about this, but still, I like this possibility.

Hey, I was listening to some of the old messages and on the 6/12 message from Inman he told Meltzer that ONI was making profiles on "potential dissidents... unstable personalities" and warns him to lay low and watch his back. Well maybe Meltzer didn't lay low and that's why the slab of muscle was tailing him.

Wow, I was wondering what a theremin was after I read Meltzer's notes on the James Millard Oakes League meeting and it turns out that the guy who made this instrument... well this quote says it better than I can.

"In 1938, Theremin left the United States, though the circumstances related to his departure are in dispute. Many accounts claim he was taken from his New York City apartment by KGB agents, taken back to the Soviet Union and made to work in a sharashka laboratory prison camp at Magadan, Siberia. He reappeared 30 years later."

Suspicious eh... of course the reference was to the fact that the theremin was used in creepy movies, but it could still be something.

I suspect that I've been left a bit high and dry in the ongoing investigation, haven't I? I do wish you'd let me know your current status for I could've a number of leads that may be worth pursuing. In fact I just posted you a book regarding the North Atlantic Triangle. I'm sure you'll find it of interest. It's..um..how shall I put it...a popular book. A..(laughing)...lurid little paperback in fact. But...I do believe the author has stumbled onto some really vital information. Do be in touch Mr. Meltzer, thank you."

I do believe this means we're going to get another book in the near future.

Woah, I just got something else in the mail!

It was a larger box, with the same address label. Inside it, in some paper, was a small record for playing on a record player. It has two sides. It's marked as being from "Rapture Records".
The soonest I'll have access to a record player is next Thursday. I'm guessing it's just music from the soundtrack and that we all that participated will get one.
