David Tenenbaum, feature writer
David has written about science, health and environment for Technology Review, Environmental Health Perspectives, Bioscience, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Most recently, he and Terry Devitt wrote a Penguin Book, The Why Files: The Science Behind the News, (publication 4/28/2009). Although is fascinated by science and technology, David can swing a hammer: He wrote and photographed The Complete Idiot's Guide to Home Repair (Illustrated) and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Simple Home Improvement (Illustrated), both published by Penguin-Putnam. He also wrote both editions of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Toolbox Manual, published by Thomson Peterson's. Nicknamed "Atlas" because he knows the biking roads, he's been Why-Filing since the Big Bang.

You can write emails to the guy, I already sent one asking for info about new types of sea slugs found in the "lost city".

Not sure if it leads somewhere but you never know.

If it doesn't, you're going to have one confused scientist. Still, it's wierd that there's so many references to Bioshock from this guy. If he isn't in on it, I wonder if he plays it?

This could be like the guy at the LHC looking like (and named) Dr. Freeman, working for a company that is running an experiment eerily similar to the Black Mesa incident...

NEW UPDATE

Lots of letters on the wall, plus he's started reading "The Frozen Triangle."

He's circled a page placing the triangle, which would seem to correspond with the Bellman's Map.

On the opposite page, there is a list of events which would seem to indirectly document the construction and impact of Rapture on the area, such as oil slicks from the construction of the city, reports of a "phantom lighthouse in 1955 and the disappearance of a commercial flight and "persistent rumors of the loss of a nuclear submarine in 1960.

When I went to the site just now, it asked me for my birthday. This is the first time that's happened to me. Anyone else?
edit: also, I can't see any of what D.C. described.

Took me four tries to get back it -- kept hanging up at ~98 percent loaded.

The book is the tan object in front of the phone and the new letters are tacked up on the wall -- some above the white radio on the left side of the desk and the rest to the right of the scanner.

yes, I'm sure it's working for you, but I just see desk in front of the phone and there are only two letters on the wall.

He will find rapture.

Here's my idea now listen its a bit of a stretch. I was reading a magazine about bioshock 2. It said something like you will find regular people and how you interact with them will shape your play through rapture. Well I bet you will run into him when we play as a big daddy! We could kill him or help him out!!! I bet!

I hope you're right. That would be too cool.

This is just a littLe tidbit of information but in the frozen triangle book the 2 1960 events refer to the first bioshock. the flight that crashed was jacks flight. and the sub that disappeared was the sub we saw if you got the bad ending in bioshock 1. that triangle on the bellmans map is 100% without a doubt where rapture is. and those dots and lines on the major cities are 100% routes to rapture.

Ok gang, I know my first foray into speculation was a little far fetched, but here I come again.

Lutwidge has dropped a couple clues that makes me think the notes in the jewelry box are important (Take "notes"). I am working on trying to figure it out, but could use a little help.

1. Do the Lat/Long from the jewelry box match up with the locations on the Bellman chart? If so, could someone post a correlation between the number of the point on the chart to what position in the top row of the jewelry box it is? (( LL started doing this a two pages back, have you finished it? ))

Edit: Nevermind, the order they are in IS the order they are numbered on the Bellman Chart. There has to be a way to derive a sequence from somewhere.....

IIRC (I am trying to find the text of Lutwidge's seccond recording on here) he said something about the "Key" being in the "Sea" (Read: "C"). So my hypothesis is that buried in there is a song that would give the clue as to what Metzler should have in hand as instructed by Lutwidge's recordings.

Now for another wild accusation:

It would be amusing (assuming this leads to a song) if the tune in question was Beyond the Sea. A song they used in one of the trailers for the first game. It mentions the moon and an object being held (a Heart).

Beyond the sea was originally a french song "La Mer" (released 1943) and translated into an english version in 1956.

Man, it looks like I'll be out of luck on this one.
I was thinking (when I saw the 8/Cool that I might get a shot to participate in RL! I am going to Miami and Key West during that time. I could see them doing a RL event there.

No dice. Man, someone needs to make an ARG of a secret city hidden under central Texas. Sad

This is all from Bad Karma when I gave that ARG actor a hard time in a phone call years ago (they called me at work! got the number from my myspace!).
