Aww, thanks man, I appreciate the thought!

If anyone that got a bottle could get me some hi-res scans and info on the contents (poster & label sizes, paper type, etc.), as well as the bottle itself, I might be able to make some reproductions for anyone interested. Same would be true for the crayon drawings. Sadly, albums are beyond my abilities... Confused

Something in the Sea

Great pics, man! I found myself in a bunch of 'em (reppin' robbie's shh tdk shirt, actually, haha). There really was a ton of people, there. I was kind of hoping they would use that giant lightouse-esque thing in the event. Driving around it a billion times looking for parking when it was all light up my friends and I all came to the conclusion that it fit with rapture's style.
I was just thinking how funny it was like an hour before sunrise when we were all walking along the beach. Everything we found was a potential clue. Someone had written in the sand the day before "Happy Birthday Kelly" and we stood around it for like 10 minutes debating its significance, thinking about the birthday code thing in the lunchbox. And once someone told us that the event consisted of bottles, every single discarded beer bottle on the beach had to be inspected. Haha, good times.

The best part was the people in the group next to me who saw a boat in the distance and were trying to wave it down even though it wasn't driving in our direction.

That or the kid who was running around stopping the cleaners at the beach/creepy guys with metal detectors if they've seen anything weird lately....

Another SHH! Player! What's up cool guy?

So I've been doing some research and I actually found the green plastic bottles, complete with cork and black shrink wrap, so I could seriously make some repros for land-locked folks like myself and for a whole lot cheaper than $100 on eBay ( Evil or Very Mad ).

I would have to charge, but only to cover shipping and the price of bottles. I could even throw in a repro exclusive to set our bottles apart... Wink

Let me know what you folks think, I don't imagine it would be any more than $5 - 10 dollars a piece to make, which is way cheaper than rewarding those eBay scammers...

Hahahahahahaha. Classic. When we had nothing to do after getting there hours early, my friend got bored and walked to the water and wrote in the sand in really big letters "RAPTURE?" and then an arrow pointing at the water. We all watched him do it, but we didn't think ahead to when all the other people would arrive. So when I was making my patrols back and forth up the beach trying to figure out what was going on people kept stopping at it. They would look all around the word and stuff. Some people even dug in the sand around it and followed the arrow for a little bit into the ocean. It was pretty funny. To our credit though, and by our I mean everyone following the game, we sure don't leave ANY stone unturned, hahaha.

And robbie, I say go for it. It's pretty ridiculous how much people are selling them for on eBay. I saw it coming when I overheard people who obviously were only there to get something they could sell and make $$ on, haha. It'd be good to give everyone who couldnt be at the beach a shot to get something. Plus it wouldnt surprise me if your repros ended up being cooler than the real thing, haha.

While it may not be a *true* swag item, $5-10 is TOTALLY worth it compared to those scammers...the only thing that really irks me about the whole event was that I was one of the few that was at the beach before 5am and most of the bottles were nabbed by peeps that got there like 10min before sunup Evil or Very Mad

If you truly plan on making replicas I would gladly purchase one from you...heck, I might even buy more at that price Very Happy

Great idea Robbie. Those eBay sellers are a disgrace to ARGers!

I have a few pictures from the Jones Beach event here as well.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard about there being the chalked rocks on any of the other beaches? I got a comment on the photo saying they had been found in Cali, but I don't want to accept it as true until I hear/see otherwise.. Figured you guys would know.

Living in Colorado, obviously, I couldn't make it to the coast for the 8th (part of me wasn't even sure if there would be a RL event, to be honest), but much props to all the guys and gals who woke up early and headed to the beach yesterday. Smile. Also props to the guys and gals at 2K who have kept this thing going.

Running a little behind, as I just opened up the jewlery box this morning, got the coordinates, etc. (saw the box a day or two ago, got lazy and forgot about it). Working on the piano key thing now for the last 90 minutes inbetween work, but I know what I'm good at and what I'm not good it, and while I can crack codes, spin sliders, stare at pictures, decypher audio, and research obscure internet sites with the rest of you, I am far from musicly inclined. Caught up on the last 10 pages that I had missed, and as usual noticed you guys are ahead of me. However, I was reading pretty quickly... did anyone find any significance to the musical keys inside the box yet? Didn't see a solution, but figured I'd ask (both because I am legitimately curious for a solution, and if there isn't one, to encourage others to help me find it, lol).

OMG Elizabeth was here! And she said she watches us! Normally that would be really creepy, but this time it's cool. Very Happy *waves at Elizabeth* Wish I could've made it to the event... Oh well, it was awesome watching the forums and stalking the beaches with webcams.

*ahem*

And that was my off-topic gushing for today, now back to SitS.

I wonder what Mark is going to make of the bottle? If that's what he found. It should be, but you never know... One of the posters will cofirm that Rapture is a city, but I'm really interested in his reaction to the Plasmid ads. Can't wait for the next update!

Repro bottles

Robbie, you would be my mega-hero if you could make those reproductions.

If you can't, that's cool too. I won't like reject you as a human being or something Very Happy

It sounds like there were much bigger turnouts than 2K was expecting.... Certainly more than I would've expected.

... But I'm really ready to see what MM makes of the Rapture posters. It should be pretty interesting! Very Happy

I imagine they will, the game still has several months until it's released and they've built this thing up too much to let it go now...At least, that's my two cents...
