different post, different attachment Smile

transcript:
Quote:

M: What do you mean? What nightmare?

W: Charlotte was the last of my characters to come alive. What we experienced together was so distressing, that I broke down completely.

M: Umm, let's back up a little. Tell me exactly what happened. When did you first see Charlotte?

W: About four years ago in Berlin. It was winter. I was on my way to the shops, when I heard an awful noise- screeching tires, the crunch of metal on metal, splintering glass... it sounded like a car accident. I remember thinking 'oh my God I hope no one's hurt', then I turned around to see a girl in the middle of the road. She was rooted to the spot. The crash was obviously her fault. Suddenly as if she could sense I was there she turned around and she smiled at me, and I recognized her right away - it was Charlotte, the little girl from my book! She ran over and took me by the hand.

M: What happened next?

W: My mind seemed to shut down. On the one hand, I knew Charlotte was real, she had to be a delusion. On the other hand, she was standing right beside me. And in the end, I had to believe the evidence of my eyes so I followed her.

M: Followed her? Which way? Wh-where did she go?

W: Why? Does it make a difference?

M: Um, not in the slightest. I'm sorry, go on.

W: If you don't mind I'd like to take a break. I know I forced this conversation on you but I thought I was ready and I'm not. The hallucinations were extremely traumatic and it's really not easy for me to discuss them.

M: I understand.

W: You won't have to worry about me bothering you again, with any luck I can manage to leave this island(?) tomorrow.

M: One last question. What was the book called?

W: I hadn't decided. I only had a working title. "Nine."

M: Nine?

W: Charlotte was nine years old when she ran away from home.

...well ok then, I've met my upload quota of 20MB. never had that before.

Alas, the MP3 is available for download here: http://drop.io/charlotte22

I'm not sure it's relevant to the truth we're seeking, but I'd like to know why the woman at age 13 was writing a story about someone killing herself at a hotel, and what was the experiment the young people were working on? Maybe they are just random things and only indicative of her early mental illness, but I'd like to know more about it.

The therapist reacts strangely at least twice:

M: What happened to the girl?
W: One day she decided to take charge of her own destiny, she ran away from home.
M: Oh, my God.
W: I beg your pardon?

emphasis mine.
The therapist seems to be getting emotionally involved with Charlotte, even though Charlotte appears to be a hallucination resembling a character of a book.

The only thing I'm getting in searching for Russian orthodox chapels on hills near Berlin is this place in the middle of Potsdam. Can hardly be described as a small village, though.

Then again I am a bit knackered so I might be missing something. Maybe a North-German ARGer can help out with this bit?

oraclle your research is great and may well be right. I think she meant they passed through a village on the way to this destination. Here's some additional info: http://www.aviewoncities.com/berlin/potsdam.htm It mentions the Russian Orthodox chapel and wooden houses.

I'm sure someone mentioned somewhere that in the plot of the book:-(*SPOILERED AS IT MAY BE A PLOT SPOILER FOR THE NOVEL*)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
...the girl in the story is actually the therapist's daughter in reality, but I'm damned if I can find where that was written.

...but I can't seem to find where I saw that. -Maybe I dreamt it!

We were speculating on that earlier. I agree with the idea.

So, I work in a bookstore and having had nothing to do at work yesterday decided to track the book down. I've now finished reading it and it's not a bad read. If this is an ARG based on the book, which I'd have to say I think it definitely IS, then there's alot more to come!

The idea mentioned earlier about the coincidence of

"But you shouldn't look for me. Instead you should look for the truth."

and the usage of the words in Dana's blog occurred to me as well. Perhaps there is something key in the tape he received that we need, to figure out how to get in contact with the characters.

I would love to take it at face value that Dana received the package by accident, and admittedly I have a tendency to over analyze things, but it just seems so odd to me. The fact that he specifically said that he could not get involved in the thread over here immediately reminds me of the recent debate in the meta thread....which then makes me want to believe that while he might be a real person OOG, he might have in IG aspect which would prevent him from contributing at uF. But all of that is speculation and maybe a bit of wishful thinking. I suppose it will all click eventually.
